This place is special! Kind of like New Havens version of Red 36 in Mystic. We took our 2 daughters tonight for a celebration of the end of summer! School begins tomorrow. No res and seated outside on the beautiful deck on a perfect evening! Our waitperson, Taylor, was just perfect. She has a degree in hospitality from UMASS Amherst and it showed. We had oysters and calamari for apps. Both quite nice. I had short ribs that were excellent. We had crab cakes and also a filet that was underdone but will be perfect tomorrow when we have it for leftovers! Home made ricotta donuts with warm chocolate dipping sauce and tres leches with banana gelato which was the winner. Under 200 with tip and a gorgeous sunset made it the perfect experience! We will definitely be back soon! I also recommend Red 36 in Mystic! Dont miss either.

Loved it! the Customer service was superb, Shout out to Chris our server and Kelly the buser! Excellent job! The Food was delicious although the beef hash was a tad bit dry it needed a sauce of some sorts. The restaurant itself is by the water, so you have that lovely breeze watching the boats pass by excellent venue as well they tend to have live music. Unfortunately the live band today wasnt the best, they tried to pay homage to the reggae Greats, Bob marley, Beres hammond, and Dennis Brown to no avail. As an Avid listener of reggae music it was not what i was expecting especially since my family are from the Caribbean. So when that reggae beat hit my expectations were set rather high as always. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend the place to anyone!

The absolute worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. This place needs a major overhaul. Several mistakes made by various functions (hostess, waiter, kitchen, etc.) Just abysmal. 6:49 Seated at our table. 7:15 Still no waiter. Went to the hostess stand to tell them that no waiter had showed up. 7:35 STILL NO WAITER. Went back to the hostess again to BEG for a waiter. 7:40 Waiter shows up without an apology, asks what we want to drink, disappears. 7:50 Waiter comes back to take our food order. We order 2 apps and 2 entrees. 8:40 Entrees brought out by food runner. No sign of waiter nor apps. 8:55 Bill presented with a mistake, and (thankfully) quickly corrected. 9:00 The last time Ill ever set foot in that restaurant. Its a shame, because the food was delicious.

The food was good but I wish I was able to say the same for the service. My girlfriend and I made reservations but when we showed up we were seated under the AC which was on full blast. This made us cold and when we asked to be moved they said we couldnt and they just offered us a blanket. They also said they would lower the AC but never did so. The people who sat at the table in front of us also had to same complaint when they were seated. My girlfriends food came 15 minutes before mine and I wasnt notified that it would be delayed until 10 minutes in. The quality of the food was excellent but our waitress also forget to get my drink for the entirety of the lunch. I was expecting better service for the price we paid.

Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere. We had no reservation and the wait time of a table for 2 was two hours. They have fire pit tables on the deck that are open seating. I usually hesitate to sit in open seating because service is usually lacking. This was not the case. Our server Jason was wonderful, they were very busy and that can translate into a frazzled, stressed out server. He handled it like a pro. I watched him with other table, always smiling, taking his time to make sure everyone was happy. He even was taking pictures for people. You can have great location and good food but its the servers that make or break the experience. Jason sets the standard to which all servers should strive for.

The area where this restaurant is located is extremely nice. The staff seemed very friendly and courteous. The reason Im giving this place a poor rating was based on the price and the amount of food that you get. I ordered two bowls of clam chowder which were small bowls and one order of crab cakes which consisted of two cakes. We had no drinks, The price for the meal was over $40 with tip. There were literally two clams in the clam chowder, definitely not the best bowl of clam chowder Ive had in my life. The crabcakes on the other hand were absolutely delicious. I would go as far as saying they were the best crabcakes Ive ever had :)

Brunch Sunday,Staff was awesome, great view, food was really good, Started out they ran out of Bacardi, menu was limited, ran out of Burgers so I had to drink something other than what I wanted and order a different lunch Item than what I ordered.,How do you run out of basics at 1pm or at anytime.Lunch for 4 with drinks was $190.00 plus tip.The waiter was very polite and attentive.Wouldnt you at least communicate with your staff to prevent them from being embarrassed and having to make excuses. The 5 stars is for the waiter (Gino)

Rare when service actually gets in the way of the experience. But this is certainly the case here, and it is stark. The food and drinks are up to par, as is the décor and atmosphere, so it is really unfortunate that quality and well trained wait-staff could not be located. Lucky for the owners this is New Haven and food of a similar caliber is not readily available so they may yet make a sustainable return on their investments. This lack of pressure, in the end, would be a shame for the patrons.

Food is tremendous. Atmosphere very nice. Service not so much. I dont blame the wait staff she was great. I feel it was the timing from the kitchen for sure. I know it takes time to prepare excellent food, which it was, however with a party of six you cant serve two people at a time for both our appetizers and dinner. You end up being polite to wait for the rest of the table to be served an end up with cold food. I will go back and hope that when I do the timing issues have been resolved.

Will never go back again. Horrible managment. Asked for a manager who never showed up to our table promptly. When she did was very rude, short and reluctant to help with our issues we had with their mix up. Seemed to be alot of confusion with the staff. I blame this on management. Some things need to change over there and maybe then I will return. I would not even rate 1 star if I could. Take my advice. Do not go and make the same mistake we did.

Awful place&food.arrived at7pm & told us outside only. drinks were served in short glasses while other patrons were all in tall glasses.service was slow. Average Menu. lobster roll app was lobster roll cut into three pieces for $12. Of four dinners, a chicken ceasar salad came 15 min after ours w/ no apology.Outside tables held 2 dishes not 4. price was high. Rained on us nowhere to cover. I was sick min later& into next day& husband next day

Great location, right on the water and decent food but the reason I am writing this is to express how absolutely awful our waiter was... Ive never experienced such bad service- he was beyond slow on a quiet Tuesday evening, with a bad attitude and no apologies. It took a half hour and three requests to get my second drink. His attitude was pure "I dont give a crap." Awful service from this particular waiter who is in the wrong business.
