I have been to many Indian restaurants in New England only because I like to get a taste of my home food. But Avon Indian Grill is a big disappointment. The moment you enter you dont get the "feel" of an Indian restaurant. The decor is not bad but thats not what I expect when they call it an "Indian" restaurant. Its misleading. I was there for the buffet around 1:30pm. The food on the buffet stand was cold, and the rice looked terribly dry. I ordered lamb roganjosh because there were hardly any pieces of meat in chicken tikki masala left. My order came after about 20 minutes of eating. It was super spicy. I ordered medium. I regret getting it. The wait staff is the most ineffective I have seen in any restaurant. The manager sat there talking on his mobile phone. I think there was only one guy running around the entire time. Poor guy. At one time I saw the waiter clean the table and within seconds was serving water to guests. Such sense of hygiene is just disgusting. Im not going back to the place again. Sorry folks!

I am from India and I was visiting CT for a short duration. My friend never tasted Indian food before, so we searched for an Indian restaurant. This place is having a fairly good rating and comments but turned out to be overrated. Ambience, quantity, service is okay but the food was rather disappointing. Chicken 65 was super dry and not tender at all. Most important aspect of Biriyani is the "aromatic" Basmati Rice, which was missing. Low-quality basmati rice used and was presented in totally yellowish colour, not really an "authentic biriyani". However, the Mango lassi, Dahi poori and Paani poori were good. I wouldnt recommend if you are taking your family, friends, colleagues to give them a first-hand experience on the culinary delights of India. Taste 2.5/5 Quality 2.5/5 Quantity 4/5 Ambience 3/5 Service 3.5/5

Avon Indian Grill is a hidden treasure in CT for Indian food. Its very classy, comfortable and inviting for anyone who would like to try traditional Indian food. They offer very extensive drinks options that go very well with the quality food they offer. The restaurant is very customer sensitive - Staff is very welcoming, oftentimes you can find the owner at the restaurant who personally came to us many times for feedback and improvement opportunities. I strongly recommend this place!

I went to this place for a take out dinner yesterday and Im not the one to normally write a review but I thought this place really deserved it. The food was fantastic, the staff was great. Even the owner had come up and asked me how I liked the food from the previous visits and feedback for improvements. Overall a really wonderful atmosphere and experience, I will be recommending this to my friends and family and definitely plan to return!

We had eaten here a couple times with no problem, but the last time we went it was absolutely disgusting. We found rope or twine in our rice, and hair in our cilantro condiment, rice, and samosas. Obviously they have a problem with sanitation! Its not the best Indian in the first place, and now this has turned us off from the Bombay Grill entirely! We will never return! I would advise searching through your food first before eating!

My wife and I went there tonight and even though I liked the food my wife didnt. The chicken tika masala had only 8 cubes of chicken with a lot of masala for $16. We had 2 chicken tika masala, bowls, 2 nan bread, 2 glasses of wine, for $60 and tip $10 ... $70 for that! A little pricey.... Not worth the money. We could have had a great meal anywhere for the same price or less.

We had a wonderful Friday evening at Avon Indian Grill. We had some of the finest Indian starred food that we have eaten anywhere after long time. The service was very good, and the staff very friendly and helpful. All types of seafood cooked to perfection. The Squids dish was outstanding and well as all the other dishes. will definitely visit again...

We usually go here for happy hour. Both drinks and appetizers are very well priced. I really like the Indian themed drinks, also, the drink is really well balanced. I have had some bad experiences where the alcohol quantity is really low in drinks but the drinks here are very well made. In addition the appetizers have good quantity and are well made.

Love this place! The staff is friendly and helpful. They frequently guide my vegetarian family through the buffet table to let us know whats vegetarian. The food is fabulous! And the atmosphere is comfortable, yet elegant. Whats there not to like?

Food is nice and sufficient portions. i ordered food for 45 people and they made me to buy full 45 plates. Normally if you can buy food for 30 plates that is more than sufficient for 45 easily. No complaints. its our call whether to buy or not.

The chettinad chicken was bad (sweet??), so was the yellow daal. Rice pudding was ok, but too much ghee or oil. My family is south Indian and none of us liked it. odd taste, makes me wonder if the owners are actually Indian.

Perfectly exquisite restaurant. Very friendly staff (as they even accommodated us before they had opened. Nothing wrong with being first ;) ). Absolutely phenomenal dinner!
