We have frequented La Fogata in Thornton for years. My husband and I just went there on Saturday, February 4, 2012 and we have several comments: *There was live music that was SO loud we had to move farther into the restaurant just so it didnt HURT our ears. It was still so loud that we could barely speak to one another - the music break was heaven. *The chips and salsa never disappoint. Yum! *My husband had tamales: they were very small and the presentation was...ugly. Plopped on a large place covered with green chili. NO garnish (lettuce, tomato, cheese, orange, etc.) of any kind. We do eat with our eyes first! *I ordered a combo and was asked if I wanted cheese with my burrito. Huh? Of course! When it came out...no garnish - had to ask for lettuce. *We ordered drinks (beer and margarita) - I specified a margarita without the "mix" (its kind of pink and tastes odd to me) - what I got was very boring. I love a good lime margarita but this wasnt it. We were very disappointed. It wont be our place of choice as the quality has noticeably gone down over the past year or so. Sad!

Worst meal I have ever had. Walked away feeling robbed of $50. My girlfriend & I dined here and we were both severely disappointed. Everything was beyond spicy, Mexican doesnt mean dump a can of rotel over everything. My girlfriends meal was so spicy she couldnt eat her meal. My margarita was bad and our chips tasted stale. If you want tortillas from here you might as well go to Wal-Mart and buy theirs because thats exactly what they give you.. The over all service was horrendous, took forever to get anything and the waitress was just unattentive and paid more attention to a table she seemed to know personally rather than her other tables who all had empty drinks, requests, etc. All left waiting. Dont have high expectations for "Mexican restaurants" in Colorado, but this place isnt worth your time and headache nor deserves to be called a Mexican restaurant.

I ordered the soft steak tacos. the steak was minced and some pieces tasted and looked like small beef jerky pieces. Not tender steak at all . The Margarita for my wife was pink and she said it tasted incredibly sour my wife bar tends at a Mexican restaurant, so I trust her opinion. Service was so so with no personality. As we left there 3 - 4 workers were folding napkins and prepping silverware. They did not even say thank you or good bye. Very cold and unaware staff. Dont waste your money or time. If you want good Mexican food and service that is always consistent, try Coronas Mexican Grill. Just because you have a coupon does not mean you have to use it, especially here. Oh by the way I have no affiliation with Coronas, Just saying they are much better all the way around. My experience here Id like to Fogata I ate here.

One of the worst experiences Ive had at a restaurant. I have worked in the industry for 13 years and know how things work, today my husband ordered food off the menu, what came out was not what he ordered at all. The waitress had to check the menu, another waitress came over and told us the ham and cheese stuffed shrimp had ham so small you couldnt see it and the cheese melted out. Then our waitress came and told us that the menu has changed and they no longer serve what was ordered. It was over $15.00 for his meal and they comped $6.00! Are you serious? I do not recommend this restaurant what so ever since they will let you order food from the menu, they they no longer serve and never say a word about it, bring you something completely different then what you ordered and charge you for their mistake. So unprofessional!

First asked for a high chair but it never came, asked again and got one, good! Next I wanted a margrita. ...happy hour prices right ! ..... nope 11 to 15 bucks for one so passed on that.... o well lunch menu ! .... nope dont have one .... okay well what the hell Im hungry Ill pay the 12.50 for the fajita burrito sounds good right ! NOPE just nasty old bell peppers that where mushy and bland, nasty green chillie with what tasted like canned meat "I can only hope" for god sake you dont even get stake thats above taco bell quality and topped with cheese NO guack no sower creame. I at least expect to get better food than I can get at taco bell but I was dead wrong. Dont ever go hear. You will regret it I guarantee it. By the way thanks for the diarrhea!!

Specified strict vegetarian when ordering. Was given lard [rendered pig fat] in my beans. I became sick. Neither manager nor waiter knew that there was lard in the beans. There is no excuse for this. Another waitperson told me about the lard after I flagged her down and asked. She readily knew there were other choices for vegetarians. No one even apologized, not even the manager! As for the food: Chips and tortillas are overcooked and hard. Salsa is really strange tasting. Of great concern: The waiter put the baby in danger by hovering with extremely hot plates over my infant niece, even after we asked him to not do this. He just ignored us. Dont go here. There are much better places, like La Mariposa!

Ordered Seafood Enchilada, with shrimp and crab. No crab, just fake seafood shreds. shrimp was un-grilled, unseasoned salad shrimp. Dish came smothered in sour cream with pickled artichoke hearts. Extremely sour, no seasoning throughout. The whole plate was a uniformed microwaved to hot to eat. All items were uniform temp. When asking the waitress if this was microwaved, her response was all the food was fresh. Could not get a straight answer. There were no Mexican flavors in this dish, just the cheapest raw ingredients that could be purchased, and no effort put into creating a pleasant meal. Left the ghoul on the plate, then walked across the parking lot to Chic-fil-a. Stay away!

Arriving as party of five we were greeted with distracted annoyance from a young girl who remained sitting covered in a heavy passive aggressive demeanor. The waitress was visibly worried as she greeted our table and remained aloof and absent for most of our breakfast. The food was gamey, bland, oversalted, and good for our party of five. Unfortunately, consistent flavorful food was not to be experienced. Lastly, we did enjoy the patio and atmosphere. Furniture was comfortable, but despite its mostly good appearance, was covered in dust and shallow grime.

We were looking to try a new place for us to eat. We arrived at around 1:30 for lunch and there was a lot of open seating but were rudely told that there would be a significant wait because they didnt have enough help scheduled. I dont think it would have taken more than 3 servers to service the entire restaurant in a timely manner given how few tables were in use. If you cant schedule the proper amount of help to service your clientele, they wont give you a second chance. Very Poor.

With out boring you with the details, the food is ok, a bit on the expensive side for Mexican. On my last visit, the server brought the wrong dish. We requested the correct dish that we had ordered. It did not come until everyone else had finished eating. At which point we said, "No thanks". The next 40 minutes were wasted trying to pay on a not overly busy evening. Id drive a little and go to an establishment that actually appreciates your business.
