Great experience! Although I live very close, I had not eaten at 240 union before. I decided to take my girlfriend out for a nice dinner, so I figured I would give this place a try. The restaurant is decorated very nicely, with nice wood accents and a large wine rack in the back. Very warm and comfortable. We were greeted immediately upon entering, and seated promptly. The waiter (Marc) was at the table almost as soon as we sat down. (And it was not a slow night) I couldnt say enough about the service that Marc provided. Top notch. He new the menu very well, as I had several questions about dishes. He answered them very thoroughly, and helped me come to a decision. The food was very, very good. The prices on the menu were reasonably priced for the quality of food we received. Water and other drinks were always filled before they were empty. I could go on and on, but it would suffice to say that we will definitely go back.

Will never go back. The waitstaff was unimpressive to say the lease. When I did not know what I wanted to drink the first time the waiter waited a good 15 minutes before asking again. The menu in general was difficult to read, and I could not find basic sections like soup or salad. When my food finally arrived it was luke warm to at best, and the same was true for several of the people I was with. I would have told the server this, but by the time she came back to check I was ready to be out of there. The server appeared to be indifferent about the negative performance. In the end the food and waitstaff were sub par to say the least, particularly for what they wanted to charge. Based on the lack of people there at 6pm I would say I am not the only one to feel this way.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at 240 Union for our 1 year anniversary and we had a truly wonderful time. The restaurant is lovely and the choices on the menu all sounded so good we both had more trouble picking what we wanted than we have ever had before. My dry aged ribeye was fantastic and perfectly cooked. She really loved her pork chop. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and always prompt. We both thought it was the best service we could remember at a restaurant. When the check came, we noticed they had given us a free desert since it was our anniversary. They had remembered I mentioned the dinner was for an anniversary when I made the reservation a week before. Awesome service! We will be back for our next special occasion.

Yesterday evening my husband and I met his uncle for dinner here. None of us are from the area, so we made our choice based on a recommendation not knowing the atmosphere. We realized once there that we were probably quite under dressed in sneakers and blue jeans and we also had our very young son in tow. These issues could have easily been looked down upon by the staff. I am so happy to say that it was just the opposite. Never in my life have I been served so well. The staff was beyond welcoming and attentive even when my son accidentally spilled his water. My husband and I had the most wonderful time. We live in downtown Denver, but we will be making the trip many times in the future for such a great place.

I was very excited to try this restaurant, having heard nothing but great things about it. Unfortunately our experience was a terrible one. Food was average at best, but the biggest disappointment was our server. Entirely cold and stuck up, give my wife a puzzled look when she mentioned that she had a cheese allergy AFTER our food had already arrived. There was no mention of cheese anywhere on the item description on the menu. Most servers would apologize and immediately offer an alternative or replacement. Ours just stood there and looked at us before I finally suggested if we could get it re-made. Food also took over an hour to arrive, appetizers, drinks and desserts took over 45-50 minutes to arrive as well.

Be careful if you order the St. Elmos Shrimp Cocktail. The waiter will neglect to tell you how stinking hot the sauce is. The ratio of horseradish to red sauce (Im assuming it is ketchup) is 99% horse and 1% red. I can keep up with most things hot, but this was ridiculously hot. It was so hot that I choked on the shrimp, couldnt catch my breath, had tears in my eyes and basically had to purge the shrimp from my mouth to recover. Hell, Im still recovering and have no desire to ever have horseradish again. All I got in return was the removal of the shrimp dish from my bill and the waiter simply saying "I should have warned you about that."

Wish ownership demonstrated consistent ethics & integrity - our family, through adoption and foster parenting, consists of a mix of both Black and white Americans - of course the owner does not know that as we buy food simply because we are hungry or entertaining business clients. However, some of our family members have experienced a dramatic difference in treatment while attempting to dine at 240 Union - guess which family members? While it could be an anomaly, we have found that children of color are not treated similarly to other clients at 240 Union. We look at it as money has no race or color, so why the different experience?

I have never been able to figure this place out. Ive been here a handful of times, and have enjoyed myself well enough, but thats about all I can say about it. The food is pretty decent, but nothing special. It fills you up, and does so easily. But for what the place claims to be (refined, more elegant, higher-end), it misses the mark. The staff Ive had is a bit off as well. Forgetting who ordered what, from drinks to entrees, and then not checking up during the meal. I like this place enough to be taken here if someone else is buying, but if Im looking for an "elegant" meal in Lakewood, Im going elsewhere.

i dont understand what every on here is raving about, after reading what people said about the place i whent and checked it out, food was mediocre, i had the main lobster pasta, but couldnt find the lobster, pasta was a lil undercooked and the the hole dish was just bla, my g/f had the rib eye and that was cooked to perfection, but the waiting staff kept hovering over us, the guy had about the fakest smile ive ever seen and was walking around the place as if his shoes where made out of lead, its sepose to be a grill place yet 95% was sea food?, over all i aint going back there high prices for mediocre food

Enjoyed the food and service. This is an upscale place and its just a few floors below my office. I just cant handle the way they force the delicious aromas on me when I walk to my car each evening. A colleague ordered and shared bacon wrapped crab legs, which were pretty tasty. Also shared the beet salad with my wife which was excellent if youre a beet fan. For dinner, I had a pistachio crusted pork chop with risotto which was a nice dish. Wife had a tuna dish, which she ordered without the cilantro lime sauce which seems to have broken up what may have otherwise been a cohesive dish.
