We heard about the restaurant through our neighbor and he mentioned a restaurant that he went to the other day. So we got a little excited since Ive been living in Lafayette for 2 years and this restaurant is probably the only new thing Ive seen these 2 years. So we decided to give them a try. We called them for directions and it turned out it was located where the old Wal-Mart use to be and about 5 minute drive away from us. We got to the restaurant and our first impression was the stimulating smell from all the food on the buffet bar. They had quite a crowd in there that day and we got seated in the back. We got our drink order taken and then was told we could help ourselves. We were more than happy to obliged. I was very happy with the quality of the food. There Mongolian Beef were very tender like they were suppose to be and the Beef and Broccoli wasnt too saucey like other chinese restaurants. They also had a pretty good array of fresh fruits and dessert to me. Our drinks never hit rock bottom and our plates didnt pile up. Only thing that slightly annoyed me was the music was a little too loud but otherwise it was AWESOME!!!

I came here in 2015 to see what all the hype was about, and I was disappointed. I thought Id try it again tonight, and it doesnt look like much has changed since then... The place doesnt have the "it" factor. I think the first thing people notice at a restaurant is how it looks. And Asian King doesnt look appealing; dark, small, nothing to grab your eye. What can you expect from the food then? I would have to say that its not too impressive. Plenty of other Chinese places (not buffet) nearby where you could find fresher, tastier, more appetizing eats... They do have nice hot tea here, and the dessert selections arent bad. I hope one day they will start impressing us with their food, or at least a restaurant-makeover so it looks better inside. They have my review, but thats all after tonight.

Everybody knows what a peel and eat shrimp tastes like when it has "turned", or in other words, spoiled, held at improper temperature for too long. If you like that, go. With approx 32 shrimp left on the serving line, I brought the issue to a wait staff..who in turn, tasted one (1) with cocktail sauce, and quickly concluded that the shrimp were ok....so maybe she got a good one out of the swell, or no taste buds ,or denial . I was chef trained, worked in the industry for 25 years, I know what a rotten shrimp tastes like. What gets me is over 32 shrimp, confronting the owner, still would not take the shrimp off the line...on their attitude alone, I would never go there again, and you know what they can do with their fxxxing shrimp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its okay. Denver cant seem to pull off a decent buffet if it could kill them. Food was lukewarm at 11:30 when the place opened at 11. Stuff brought out fresh from the kitchen was hot so maybe issues with the steam table? 9.75 lunch includes a soft drink (the drink is $1.50 and not part of a package deal). Quick, friendly service. The glass never got below 1/2 before a refill was offered. Kinda dim inside even with blinds open. An area in back is set up for larger groups with fluorescent office lighting and no windows. Limited parking on Sundays - there is a mega-church nearby and only 16 spaces are reserved for the strip malls at the end. Meh. Food wont kill you but not worth a special trip out here. The quest continues.

I just discovered Asian King, and as I was in a bit of a hurry, I thought a buffet would be a good idea. I started with the egg drop soup, which was a touch salty but otherwise quite tasty. The tempura had sat out a bit long and was only lukewarm, though the crab puffs were toasty and wonderful. The teriyaki chicken skewers were nice; not too sweet. The black pepper chicken is also good, though a bit on the sweet side. Overall, I would say that they serve a decent Asian buffet. The flavors are kid friendly, though not as rich and complex that really great Asian food delivers. And due to the nature of a buffet, the food is fast. So when thats what I need, Ill be back.

Chinese Buffet is an animal unto itself ;-) I havent seen them around much any more. Im glad to know there is one near where I live now and that it is clean and has nice people. The gal came by alot, but she was kind and very quick to clean up empty plates, etc. About $10 per person, which is way cheaper than the last place I had Chinese Buffet which was closer to $20 per person. We will be here next time we want Chinese Buffet!

Went on the strength of the reviews and was disappointed in quality and price. $11.10 for lunch is too much. Also no senior discount. I got there at 1:30 and everything was depleted, and did not get refreshed. Went back to the hotel and felt queasy for several hours. I choose Asian so I can eat paleo while traveling, but fear the MSG level may have been high. Would like to know if they use that stuff.

Asian King is just a standard Chinese buffet, nothing spectacular. However, the service is great, the place is clean, and the food is surprisingly high quality. Ive eaten at a number of buffet restaurants and gotten sick every time, but never here. The have all you can eat sushi as long as you like California rolls. Overall its pretty decent. About 12 bucks a person and 2.50 for a soda.

Did not have white rice on the lunch buffett, whats up with that? Otherwise a somewhat standard small selection of greasy chinese food. Id give 3.5 stars if I could. It was not at all great but you cant expect the world. Price of 10 dollars for the Lunch was kinda high I suppose even in these financial times. Have had way better chinese buffetts that cost less.

I love this place and eat there way too often. My favorites are their black pepper chicken, black pepper shrimp, green beans, and bok choy, and I usually confine myself to those, but there is a wide variety of other choices, including sushi, peel and eat shrimp, and fresh fruits and vegetables Food is always hot and fresh and service prompt and attentive.

The Chicken dishes were unimpressive, some of them totally flavorless. The fish was bland and rubbery. The Shrimp was O.K. The best part were the pastries for dessert.

Standard chinese buffet with reasonable cost. $10 dinner is easy breezy on the wallet. Good place for a chinese food fix when the mood strikes.
