The other reviews that said bad things about the restaurant are NOT true at all. None of the people who wrote bad reviews gave any details. Thats because they could not substantiate any thing at all that they wrote. Well, I will give details. Go eat at the restaurant and find out for yourself how good it is. Im sure that after you eat there once you will want to go back. Im VERY picky about the quality of food when I eat at a restaurant. I have always found there food to be very good quality!!!!! For the low price there is no better food at ANY restaurant. Dont expect it to be like a four or five star restaurant. For a family style restaurant there is no better food anywhere!! Four examples are: first, when they have there pot roast , which they dont have all the time, they cook it for many hours. It falls of the bone when you eat it and it has great flavor. The sauce with it has great flavor, too. I used to work in restaurants as a chief, and I can tell you they do an equally great job with all the other foods. Secondly, all their vegetables that they serve are cooked fresh. NO frozen vegetables. Thirdly, on Saturday and Sunday they serve breakfast from 7 am. They have the biggest selection for breakfast, by far, and at one low price. Its the same price for there all you can eat buffet that you would pay at other breakfast places for just one plate. They also prepare omelets right in front of you with what ever you want in them. For their breakfasts the quality and taste is just as good as I can make at home at an equal or less expensive price. Forth, their deserts are made from scratch at the restaurant. They all taste like they came from a fine bakery. No kidding! The restaurant has an "open kitchen" which means that you can see ALL the food they are preparing and cooking. They dont prepare the food behind a closed door to the kitchen where you cant see them and dont know what their doing. They even cook the food right in front of you, so they have to prepare the food correctly. That means that the quality of their cooking will be good. The best restaurants to eat at are ones with an "open kitchen". The restaurant is clean even when they are very busy. They clean the tables quickly after the customer is finished and clean up spills promptly. The restaurant is very busy with customers, most of the time. That should say a lot right there. It seats around 150 people maybe more. To constantly be that busy you need to have a consistently good restaurant, so the other reviews are false. Have them explain that. But this can also be the only draw back. If you want a quiet restaurant then this is not the place for you. About the comments of many children running around, well, their policy is that kids ten and under have to be accompanied by their parents. If they see kids running around, they make an announcement on their loud speaker to have the children stay with their parents at all times. At this particular Golden Coral Restaurant they get people coming from many miles away, even if there is other Golden Corals closer to where the person lives. Besides the reasons I have already stated, this is also because the owner makes sure that all the employees give great service. He wont have it any other way. Lastly, The owner is from China. The Chinese take a lot of effort to be kind to other people. Thats in their culture. I know that because I used to live there. The owner is one of the most gracious hosts you will ever meet in any restaurant. He really wants to make sure that every thing is o.k. for you. He goes around to the tables asking how is everything. If you have a comment he listens to you. Very few owners do that. He really works hard so you will want to come back.

So, we live in the mtns by way of Colorado Springs, and were in Denver for the day. It was way past lunch and my husband and I were starving, so he suggested a buffet. We usually go for Country Buffet, but the one we GPSed to was closed down, so we went to this nearby Golden Corral. I shouldve walked out as soon as we walked in. First, your overwhelmed by this smell, which I can only describe as dirty musty stale dishrags. Then, the man working as tue cashier was not friendly at all. He was short with me as i paid and impatient because i was taking to long getting my money out. Next, the waitress, we sat down at our table, i waited while my hubby got his food, then got mine when he got back. This was atleast ten mins and the whole time she was engaged in a full fledge convo with some people two tables away. When i got my food i decided to go for some creamed spinach and also some garlic mashed potatoes...big mistake...the potatoes are kinda like a melted cheese consistency...not fluffy at all. Thr spinach, to me was bad. Like it had gone bad. I took at bite and instantly started gagging. The tasted was terrible and the smell was even worse. I spit my bite in some napkins, and prayed i didnt vomit all over this table. Because our waitress still hadnt come to our table, my husband had to go find the manager. Who came over, apologized, took my whole plate of food, said they would pull the dish off the hot table and gave me a voucher for two free adult meals. They DID NOT take the spinach off of the line either. The whole place is pretty dirty...the blinds have sticky residue on them covered in dust, the lights have cob webs on them. The items on the table are sticky and have remenants of food on them. Needless to say i WILL NOT go back. Free meal or not....you couldnt pay me to go back there.

Overall, pretty good experience! The bad(ish): Experience :So we really didnt experience much bad. There just so happened to have been a party of 50 people (for a birthday of a wonderful 100yr old lady we met) in line as we walked in. Talking to some of the folks in the line (in that group), they had unhooked a chain and moved a 7 foot sign from the queue line... resulting in lines out the door (because 1/2 of the line wasnt being used). I moved it back, as all it did was hurt the flow. I should note that there was a large number of people, in that group, who were elderly and naturally werent exactly swift. We understood, just would really have liked the staff to help direct the crowd to move things along smoother. Food: We felt the French dressing didnt have too much flavor. Although we didnt use it, the triple tier chocolate fountain looked nothing like the ads or photos. Im sure it was delicious, but aesthetically speaking it was pretty unimpressive. The flow broke up on the first tier and that made the rest of them very separated instead of a solid curtin of chocolate. Only mention this, as it seems like a staple of the GC brand. The good Experience: The staff seating, cashiering and setting up the plates/silverware all very friendly. Made us feel welcome. Both of us very surprised at just how awesome the steak was. Asked for medium rare, just that. Flavorful and juicy. Mac n cheese, great. The buns, soft and buttery. Roast was tender, pizza had a lot more flavor than it looked, fried chicken was tasty and juicy as well. We really were skeptical about the food, but overall... Pleasantly surprised. Especially being that there was a group of 50 on top of a Sunday evening rush. Well be back, for sure.
