SAVE YOUR MONEY. Please, if you value your stomach and the sense of smell DO NOT GO to this restaurant... I never, ever write reveiws, but I had to make an acception in this case. Im on my lunch break and wanted to try some place new. I by passed my favorite Mexican Place( Amigos ) and end up at EL Parral on East Arapahoe Rd. The people were nice, the decor was great, and the food was delivered fast. When I got in my car and opened the bag and I gagged, I almost lost the lunch I didnt eat on the seat of my car. I ordered a simple chicken taco salad. The chicken was barely cooked, it was grey and soggy, and it smelled so bad, I thought the smell was coming from outside or something, that is until I opened the bag. The tomatos had the core in the middle of it,and the tortilla, instead of being crunchy, the sides were stale and mushy and the bottom wasnt there because the soggy, unseasoned chicken had soaked through the shell. I turned right back around and went to McDonalds and bought a $3.99 meal. I put the $8.85 lunch I just brought under the wheels of my tire. This was worse then bad, the only good thing I can say it that the tea I had was great. Im hoping this was just a bad day for them, the food or my salad was horrible.

I could literally give this place zero stars. We ordered fajitas to go, with a side of "queso". First of all, our fajitas look like Brunswick stew. Secondly, hen we received what we anticipated as being normal queso, what were used to as very simple white or yellow cheese dip, it was instead a hardened block of cheese, covered in oily grossness. If I wanted a cup of melted cheddar cheese, I couldve thrown some shredded cheese in a bowl and microwaved it myself at home. When I called to explain what we received, I got a response of "Thats how our queso typically is...we just melt cheese in the microwave." This may seem petty but it just baffles me that a Mexican restaurant doesnt serve simple cheese dip. I guess the fact that this establishment was completely empty at dinner time on a Saturday night should have been a good sign. Wont be returning, or ordering food again.

I think that poor is a bit harsh, but I cant rate this place above fair in any case. The food is okay. I dont think that they put much effort into their recipes or their product. The best way for me to describe it is bland. The restaurant itself is also fair, nothing special at all. The staff is not overly friendly, but not rude either. There are much better mexican food restaurants in Denver to spend your money at.

My parents have been taking me here since I was a kid and I still think they have the best bean burritos in Colorado! The service is always great, the food is tasty, there are plenty of vegetarian options, and it is very inexpensive. It makes me sad to see that business has been slowing down for them lately, I dont ever want them to go out of business since they consistently make good food and provide great service!

Using hotel rating system, its like a 3 start hotel, not the Ritz Calton. But the food is 4-5 star. Sure, there are times they have been sub-standard to what they can do. Nobody cooks perfectly every time. But the sauces are packed with flavor, and the food is delicious. I love their soft chile relleno, where you get plenty of chile and the fillings, instead of the overwhelming fried batter.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The only problem is the food... there is just little to now flavor. The beans and rice are only discernable by their texture, and the beef is not even up to snuff with hamburger helper. If I had to use one word to describe the food it would be BLAND. The place itself is nothing to write home about either; you can see a low budget for decorating.

I frequently stay at the hotel next to this restaurant and wonder how it stays in business with a much nicer looking Mexican restaurant in the same parking lot. I thought they must have something going that kept them in business. They dont. Bland food and a seemingly apathetic owner makes the place feel like Im eating Im a food court. Two stars for cheap beer.

I called in two orders to go at 9:15 pm on Sunday and was told they were closed because they were slow. They have a posted closing time at 10 pm...way to make more business??? Closing early because you were slow? You could have had two sales right there ...and now you just lost 10 customers because of the complaint.

I have been coming here with my family since the early 90s and its just as amazing now as it was then. No joke. We brought my grandparents here who had very particular expectations about Mexican food being Mexican immigrants and amazing cooks and they LOVED it. Never disappoints. Also the menudo is always on point.

OK, the house marg is badass! Have 2 at least. I had the adobada burrito, excellent. They upped the heat a little for me. Presentation is basic, just huge portion of perfectly prepared high quality ingredients. Sure to visit again soon.

Ive had lunch here dozens of times over the past 7 years. The food and prices are good and the service is excellent and fast. There are finer Mexican restaurants in Denver but Ive never been disappointed at El Parral.

Their Carnitas was good and their other typical combos were good too. The place however doesnt look too exciting but the service was good and so was the food so I will be back.
