I have to agree with LDM. This was one bad experience for me. We ve been to this restaurant 2 years ago and we really enjoyed the experience and service (not the prices). Yesterday it was awful. First of all it was big holiday for me and we wanted to eat something nice without cooking, so we called ocenaire. We have a toddler, and we didnt wanted to cause any inconvenience to the restaurant and clients we decided to order takeout. The lady on the phone was very clumsy taking order, refused to tell the total and insisted taking card info, being very snobby and disrespectful. Fine, we already made up our plans for dinner so I decided not to change anything and to go with it. She called in 5 min telling me the total price and asking to come in 20 min. I might be crazy, but I think if you order dinner for 2 for $180, you probably should get some staff attention or at least be nice. Not the case here. I came in 15 min after the call with my baby to pick up our dinner, and again this lady was there, being as nice as probably a shark to a small fish..( Shark is probably a bit nicer though). She told me to wait another 25 min??? telling that I came too early.. No attempts to offer a chair while waiting . The manager( or whoever he was, really nice and charming guy) was good enough to stop by me (holding a three-y.o in my arms to ask if we would like a chair). Ok, now the food: we ordered oysters Rockefeller, jumbo lump crab cocktail, yellow fin tuna, a pound of crab legs and green beans, asparagus and bacon steak as sides. I cant complain about oysters, it was really good, good quality cheese. Cocktail- not so jumbo after all, 7 small pieces on huge bed of iceberg lettuce, taste was alright, value wasnt. Yellow fin tuna.. well it was nigiri sushi without rice basically, not what we expected, but good quality fish (overpriced however). Crab legs was huge disappointment... steamed legs with melted butter...Common I can do cheaper and tastier at home, 5 small leg pieces not worth the price. The green beans were good, didnt care much for the sauce. Asparagus could be better made by my 3 year old honestly, no seasoning whatsoever...really? Bacon steak.....yuk!!!! Unless you drink vodka, otherwise dont order. Overall... very bad experience, worst service ever( even compared to McDonalds!!!!) and food that you can make home better and cheaper. ( And I am not G.Ramsey, casual cook). And ruined holiday too...

Ok so this is going to be a bit harsh for a review based on only one visit. First of we made reservations ahead of time to eat before a show. We walked in and indeed they had a space for us. Too many tables for a small space and the foot traffic just from staff is too much add to that the people trying to weave into a tight space it makes for a fast food feel. First of countless waiters come to the table to be the front man for the crew of people that ended up being part of the wait staff for our table. As with most things too many people and communication is going to fail. Never did anyone get our orders placed in front of the person who asked. The drinks all ended up crossed and then our salads following up with our mains. It became a game of Scrabble. When I was trying to order a second drink the waiter started to talk to another staff person across two tables and walked away from our table never to return. The food was OK the drinks seemed good when we could get one. The star of the evening was the sourdough bread. Was very disappointed but maybe Im asking too much from a seafood restaurant so far from am ocean? I wanted to go back onto the kitchen and speak with the cooks so they might give waiting tables a try.

Regardless of the reason for someone coming to your restaurant or business you should always show your best side. I feel that this Oceanaire did not do this with their 5280 participation. We went last night with a group for dinner. The food was not very good, and you could tell that they do not use premium ingredients. I am not sure if this is always the case or if they changed it for 5280 –regardless, not acceptable. The salmon was completely over cooked, the steak tasted low quality and the trout was loaded with TOO many bones. The wait staff did not seem to be care to ask how our dinner was or when they said they would bring something, they would simple forget and you would have to ask 2 or 3 times. Over all I use 5280 week to try out new restaurants in Denver and find new places I love. This experience did not do that for me, and I will never go there again based on my first impression and lack of customer service, food quality and over all experience at Oceanaire.

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've had. I was told that oceanaire treated minorities differently. However I had no idea of the caliber until I experienced it first hand. The manager told mg party that we were "tacky" for ordering drinks from the bar when we already had a table. Also there was an older couple near us who are giving us dirty looks all night, told us that we had no class when they got up to leave. Additionally when I checked my bank statement after I left, I noticed that they debited my account two different charges. When I called to report this to the manager at the restaurant named Marsha. She told me that my bank must have made a mistake. I called the bank and they in fact told me that the restaurant debited my account twice. When I called back to inform
Marsha. She took no accountability for their mistake. Very racist and very unprofessional.

We are from Florida, so expectations for seafood are high. Service was spectacular, no complaints there. Oysters were fresh and had a good selection (although they were out of the particular one I wanted to try), and the crabcake was great. However when it came to the entrees, the NY strip steak, while flavorful, was overcooked and tough (obviously not great quality meat), and the fish (rockfish) didnt taste the freshest. Presentation of the rockfish was also not great, it was falling apart in pieces all over the plate. The menu choices were mostly your standard seafood dishes, nothing really very creative or special. All around, not worth the $$. Could have cooked a better meal at home for half the cost. If Im spending that much, I expect a perfect meal. And it just....wasnt. We wont be back.

Decided to have our company Christmas party (approximately 80 guests) at Oceanaire. Extremely disappointed! We chose family style dessert and appetizers and only received 3 desserts per table that were supposed to be served individual. The portion sizes were very small. They said we could fit everyone in the private room however, they could not. Two tables were outside the actual room. It took over 5 calls to the manager to get a response and by the time he called back it was the new year and he claimed he could not reimburse us for the errors because the year was closed out and offered us a 10% discount on our next gathering. We will not be visiting Oceanaire again. Horrible experience.
