When it comes to going to a location that I know I will get a fantastic meal, that is properly cooked, fresh, well seasoned and served with the utmost respect and kindness, this is where I go. Its really hard to like other food after you have been here. The food really is another level above what you find elsewhere. Being an upper scale restaurant the normal expectation when I first came here was that I would get a spoonful of food for a $100 bill. It was the complete opposite. The portions here are actually really much larger than you would get in another restaurant of the same class. I have always left full and never felt like I wanted more food after I was done. Even the sides are really big and for some people can almost serve as a meal itself. The 3 main dishes that I have come to love and always return for are the Sea Scallops, the Black Truffle Mac n cheese, and the 12 oz bone in filet, which out of all of the steaks I have had in this state, it is by far the most flavorful and the tenderest. Knife is not needed. The Scallops are cooked perfectly with a nice crust and free of grit and that deep salty flavor from unfresh seafood. Then the crowning jewel is the Black Truffle Mac n Cheese. I know its weird to think of Mac n Cheese as the best dish on the menu, but it is literally intense. Its made with the same Wisconsin Cheddar as the fondue which is rich and creamy. Pretty sure there is a small accent of wine in it also which is then topped and mixed with crumbles of black truffles which are just superb. Its the one dish that I always get no matter what else I order. The wait staff is also really polite and attentive and makes ordering food and just the whole dining experience effortless. They have great knowledge of the menu and keep things neat and clean throughout dinner. If an error is made they will very rapidly get it fixed no questions asked then make sure that the problem is solved. The food quality here really is their top priority, and on the rare chance something is wrong they will own up to it, and mention that your meal will be delayed because the food didnt finish as the chef liked and they are doing it over, which is then usually accompanied with a small complimentary appetizer from the chef just to keep your tummy happy while they make it right. The ambiance of Ocean Prime has several different "atmospheres" I like to call them which you can request to be seated in depending on your occasion. There is a darker more calming romantic area which is far from the bright and active section by the windows. Adjacent to that is a trendy colored area with a nice mood lighting of blues and purples that is somewhat leaning toward the more social party themes. There are also several private rooms, a full bar, and an elevator to go upstairs if you dont want to walk the stairs. Overall when I am thinking of taking someone to a special place for a holiday or date night, or just want a really fantastic meal to celebrate, I always come here. The prices are as you would expect for the upper scale scene, but the quality in the food, portions and superb service from the staff, helps to offset that dramatically.

What a lovely experience! As a Travel Blogger, its such a treat to enjoy restaurants in my hometown hub. This is my 2nd time experiencing a tasting dinner at Ocean Prime and its just as lovely as last year. Chef Roman Rodriguez has really upped his game and the dishes were fabulous. GM Heather McCormick is an absolute delight and the restaurant runs seamlessly and smooth under her direction. We sat in the Glass Dining room overlooking the corner of 15th & Larimer - I highly recommend this spot for small dining parties - it feels open & airy yet quiet and private. The staff (including Tony, our absolute favorite) are incredibly knowledgeable on the food as well as the wine pairings. One of the things I love best about the Cameron Mitchell group of Ocean Prime restaurants is that each chef has an incredible amount of creative license to craft dishes based on the local fare and combine those with the OP menu favorites. Here is what we devoured during our visit: The Tower of Shellfish is fresh and delightful - dutch harbor king crab, colossal shrimp, east coast oysters. Ahi Tuna Tartare - this is STILL one of my faves - the wonton crunch in the middle really pulls it all together - the tuna marinade has siracha in it sushi prime rolls - excellent taste - beef carpaccio & tempura shrimp - noms! Halibut - Sitco Alaskan halibut (delivered direct to OP so its super fresh)! Lovely sear on the halibu! Served with husk roasted corn & asparagus sauteed in shallots, served with 2 lobster cream cheese ravolis ! Copper River Salmon with fresh veggies - so delicious & the salmon is some of the freshest Ive had Drink Favorites: Bubbles & Berries - its super fun - anytime of year - Champagne, cassis and vodka - hellloooo! Pear grapefruit fizz - SO refreshing! Ocean Prime Margarita - deceptively smooth - with elderflower liquor and fresh squeezed grapefruit Another thing I love about them,... OP is a from scratch kitchen! Thank you to OP for hosting another Mia On The Go tasting - my entire group was thrilled!

Wanted a nice upscale downtown restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. My fault for not making a reservation for an early Tuesday night - so we decided to sit in the bar lounge than wait for the upstairs. The atmosphere was a bit dirty, noisy, TV going, 95% sausage party with one prostitute (my judgement) at the bar, wait staff buzzing by every minute saying "corner!" Aside from my table mistake, our server was very rude (even to my sweet wife) to start and clearly did not want us to be at her table. We almost left after she asked for our IDs condescendingly. But $215 later, the bleu crusted filet and rib eye with scampi were not terrible, the Ahi Tartar appetizer tasted like any low to average chain restaurant and the $12 tater tots could have come from McDonalds as well as the salad. The minor saving grace was a free slice of chocolate cake after we said for the 2nd time it was a special night - our anniversary. Skipping the free $11 cake would have saved the $25 parking ticket in hindsight. That was also my fault. I dont think well be back to this one, even though I can guarantee the service would be better.

I enjoyed my meal here. The service is friendly and professional and the dining room is well designed. I dined alone on a reservation and was originally seated in the front lounge. I felt a little pressure from the door person to sit here instead of the dining room, and I didnt care for the lounge at all. It was pretty douchebaggy, and I dont care for TVs and live acoustic guitar during dinner, so I asked to be moved to the main dining room. The staff were very kind and accommodating about this request, which I appreciated. I had the lobster bisque, which was OK. For dinner, I had the sea scallops, which was excellent. It was on a bed of risotto and veggies, all of which was just about perfect. The fennel was particularly nice. I had the creme brulee and a machiatto for dessert. The creme brulee was solid, but I did think the portion size was a bit large.
