The food is mediocre, as is the decor. Despite this, its easy to eat out and this restaurant is fairly close to my home, so I go there more than occasionally. I ordered over the phone today, as I do often. I came in to pick up my food, and had some difficulties with my card being suddenly and inexplicably frozen. Despite the fact that many staff members know me and that I am regular customer, and that I gave *multiple* reassurances that I would come back to pay ASAP, the (new) male manager who I spoke to was rude beyond belief. He had zero compassion (I was obviously distraught about my bank issue, but that didnt matter), and told me that he would indeed throw my food away if I didnt have another credit card. Yes, that is probably policy, and I understand that a free meal doesnt *really* exist. But compassionate service used to. I have gone to this location for YEARS, have recommended it without hesitation, have brought out of town guests here....and I will never be back. It is quite a shame that a restaurant with a decent reputation has no policy against hiring managers who are rude to customers to their faces. Zane was fantastic. Since he left, this place has not been the same.

I have been to this place once before and was not impressed, but I thought Id give it a second chance. Once again the food was very mediocre, and thus very overpriced for how mediocre it is. But the worst part was what I could see going on in the kitchen from my seat. They have the waiters make all the toast and english muffins presumably to save time. The problem is the waiters were not using tongs or gloves! They would just clear a table, bring out a bill, throw some toast in the toaster, go clear some more tables, butter the toast, put it on a plate, bring it out, etc. That is so ridiculously unhygienic! Ill never eat at this place again. I brought it up with the manager and he said they were supposed to be using tongs. I watched several waiters throughout my meal and none of them were using tongs. Disgusting.

I was stuck in far east Denver and found the Egg & I on Google. Picture looked good so I went. Its in a nondescript strip mall on a pretty dreary street. But the parking lot was pretty full on a Sunday morning - always a good sign. I walked in and saw the Maitre De taking an order from a couple waiting for a table as they were in a hurry! He greeted me warmly and took me to nice little booth with a good view of the cheery, busy place. The waitress was fast and firendly. I found a 3-egg scramble with green peppers and ham, topped with pepper jack and green onions. It came with fabulous bacon, an English Muffin, and a side of pork green chili (or salsa). All very good. For 8 bucks! By the time I left an hour later the waiting area was packed with smiling people. I can see why.

Breakfast / brunch go-to if we are able to make it before their 2:30pm close on Saturdays. Today, we made it! I got a small cup of the days soup (Chicken Artichoke Florentine), which, as always, is delicious. The poached eggs on my Crab Cake Benedict was cooked to perfection. Hubby had the California Avocado Toast, which he really liked, specially the mashed avocado. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable. Parking is free and not a problem. Update: Sept Fall Menu for a limited time available now.

I go there often, and I think its very good. The people who didnt like the corn beef hash probably didnt like it because it wasnt one of the dishes they specialize in. You have to get an egg dish, like omelets or something. This is true of most restaurants - you should get something they specialize in. Anyway, I like this restaurant. The food is good, its reasonable, and the staff is very nice.

CONSISTENTLY good. The Manager has always been there at each visit, very cordial. My order is always perfect, food always good. This is my new breakfast spot. Never a line, service is always timely whether sitting down, or ordering food to go. I also like how I can be dressed like a bum instead of my business attire and still get treated the same!

Best breakfast and lunch spot in Denver. Food is always excellent, service is very friendly and effecient. Special requests are handled cheerfully, and the bathrooms are amazing. This place is one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever seen. Prices are a little higher than some, but well worth it. I highly recomend The Egg & I on Leetsdale.

The Egg and I is AMAZING- this location especially!! We have been going here for years now, we love it. The food is consistently fantastic, the staff is kind and knowledgeable, and the restaurant itself is always inviting. They have great specials, bountiful options for vegetarians, and their benedicts are second to none. 100% recommended.

The staff was friendly. Ordered the Corned Beef Hash. A bit pricey for me, at $8.99, The ratio of corned beef to potatoes was opposite of what I would have expected. Mostly potatoes, Not a lot of corned beef. Not the flavor I expected, either. If this is representative of what The Egg & I offers, I will be going somewhere else.

Still sitting here waiting for the check. Waited over 25 min for a simple egg dish and a waffle. Waited another 10 min for a refill on water. If the place was busy when we arrived it would be one thing, but we were one of about 6 tables when we arrived. For the money there are better breakfast spots with better service.

Great place for a traditional well prepared breakfast. Great service and great atmosphere. Healthy options and a few nontraditional options. I Suppose some of the bad reviews were looking for more sugar in their food and a mirrored disco ball. I love my breakfast and this place hits the spot every week.

Outstanding and personalized service They remember my usual order without being prompted. Pancakes, waffles, and omelettes are the best choices . Seasonal dishes and combination juice drinks are prepared fresh. If you want alcohol, go elsewhere. This is a great place for families to get together.

I always thought the Egg & I had a lousy menu. Waiter balked when asked for an extra tea bag to go with my tea refill. And the wheat pancakes are sad imitations of pancakes. This particular location had a lot of weird thumping and vibrations in the floor which was obnoxious while eating.

The wait wasnt long and the service was amazing! The people there are all so nice and the food was fantastic! Very authentic green chile and salsa, not at all like the store bought kind you normally find in restaurants. Overall a great experience!

Horrible service. Waiter came by to just take order and split. Complained to manager Rene and her response was....we do have other customers. Food was flavorless or too much flavor. Been to plenty of other egg & I and this is by far the worst.
