I happened to stop off at Parisis last year and ordered a delicious platter of chicken parmigiana and a side of spaghetti. It was marvelous. So you can imagine my dismay when I recently went back about 2 weeks ago to find that the restaurant had been completely gutted and the retail market turned into a few shelves lining the wall. Big mistake! I rolled my eyes but said to myself, "Im sure the food is still excellent!" Indeed, I was very wrong. You still walk up to the counter to order, a la Noodles & Company, then you are pointed to a table where they have placed a number so the waitstaff can find you. Once seated, we were served some dried bread and nothing else. There was no oil and vinegar, no butter. Just a plate of dried bread. My partner and I gnawed on that for several minutes as we waited and waited for our drink order. If they are going to continue this ridiculous stand-in-line order bit, allow people to get their own drinks. Finally, we flagged down a male manager who I believe is Simones husband. We asked why put down this dried bread without any accompaniment when we still havent received our drinks? We were told in a very sarcastic tone, "Well, I can remove the bread for you and then bring your drinks first if you prefer!" Really? This is how you respond to a customer. Well the night only got better. My partner and I both ordered Pollo Alla Parmigiana (Chicken Parm). I was so hoping to receive a platter of delicious sauteed chicken with mozzarella and sauce. Oh, no no no no, thats not what I received. What came to the table was a breaded Cornish hen breast with the tiny little leg still attached. Mine was burned on one side with very little sauce, some potatoes and spinach. The presentation (minus the charred parts) was fabulous. We both dug in. My partners chicken tasted rancid. Mine was just okay. There was nothing great about it, nothing close to memorable and nothing comparing to the chicken I had just a year before. I was pretty disappointed. We returned my partners meal and we were not even offered a credit for a foul tasting piece of chicken. They simply adjusted the ticket to replace out the pollo alla parmigiana with lasagna. By this time, my partner was clearly disgusted and ate his lasagna which was a tiny piece of two layered pasta swimming in sauce. He likened the taste to Chef Boyardee. My partner and I are both Italian descent...when you liken a meal to Chef Boyardee, you are basically saying its garbage. We will never return to Parisis regardless of how many times they change their decor or mix up their menu. Its nothing more than a higher priced version of Noodles & Company but with more attitude and less quality! In a city filled with Italian restaurants, do NOT waste your time here--just go buy yourself a few cans of Chef Boyardee and youll be set! Oh and in addition, I ordered a slice of Italian cheesecake to go expecting it to be like my Mommas. Wow was I wrong! The cheese was dry and the crust tasted like crackers. A nice Italian cheesecake crust should be firm but not crunchy like Im eating a mouthful of saltines. It was disgusting! And whoever says this place is like restaurants in NY is out of their mind!

I was pleasantly surprised by the speed, quality, and relative inexpensiveness of the food. The bread was tasty, soft, and included. The salad was flavorful, fresh, and out quicker than I expected. The tagliatelle boscaiola were delicious, perfectly al dente, and out as soon as they took the salad bowl away. And, last but not least, the gelato was exquisite with great texture. As someone with considerable experience in Italy and firm knowledge of what Italian cuisine should be, I can attest to the authenticity of the flavor here, at least with the dishes I tried. My only critique or criticism, though minor, comes in regards to the grated cheese they had available which was of the normal grated variety you see in the shaker of any other pizza place. A simple upgrading to good cheese would make all the difference in making the otherwise superb ingredients really pop. Aside from that, a wonderful experience.

I went here because I have few Italian friends that are 1st generation Italians and they all speak Italian to each other. When I asked them "So, as an Italian, where do you go to eat good Italian food?" they all said "PARISI!!!!". My wife and I are both fond of great food and gastronomic experiences so we decided to visit Parisi. Our expectation was very high and we werent disappointed at all. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. We tried out their "stracchino cheese" as part of their appetizers, which we had tried before in Tuscany, Italy.. same great taste, because they import from Italy all of their stuff. All of the menu entrees will suite anybodys budget, which is a great plus for us. This was a lunch we wont forget, thats for sure. Grazie Mario & Company, you guys rock, keep up the good work!!! See you soon!!

This restaurant was our first stop in the Denver area when visiting from Detroit. Found a listing in the AAA Tour guide book. The location is accessible, building is lovely; open, airy, and bright. Most importantly, though, the food is fantastic. Authentic Italian, a little rustic, and reasonably priced (though honestly, I would have paid twice as much to eat that dish). I ordered a smoked salmon and asparagus penne in a lovely cream sauce. It was so yummy, I could have cried. Cool set up. Theres a huge menu, you order your food, then sit down and they bring it to you. Additionally, one of the workers told us about all of the cool local spots to check out (perhaps he could tell we were clueless), so shout out to that guy! I would go here again; and am considering moving to Denver for such darn good food.

A HORRIBLE, experience!!! The cherry tomatoes in my salmon salad were rotten and I dug each one out to show the hostess/cashier. When getting water from the soda fountain the whole thing shook along w/ the pipes and no water came out, youd think someone would notice and help out or put an "out of order" sign on it. I ordered a new meal of Marinara Gnocci... and GUESS WHAT -More cherry tomatoes in it!! The server said the cook checked and there were not rotten tomatoes in that plate -WHAT? DO YOU THINK I WANT MORE CHERRY TOMATOES -NO! And last but not least, that server knew the person I was dining with, who happens to be the sales rep for a product at Parisis and did the server offer a discount on our meals or drinks -NO! Im very disappointed and will not be going back!

Terrible! The worst dinning experience we have had in years. This used to be one our favorite restaurants in Denver and living just blocks away we ate at Parisi at least once a week and often times two or three times per week. We moved about 20 miles away last year and have only been a couple times since then. We were very much looking forward to our Valentines Day dinner and the menu they had posted online looked promising. Unfortunately the service was horrible and the food nearly non-edible. After a very disappointing night I decided to call the restaurant the next morning and hopefully get some kind of resolution before posting a review online it has since been a week and not a word from anyone at the restaurant. We will never be back.
