Mikado is a hidden gem in Lynbrook, The best sushi spot in the area hands down. A lot of towns have a local sushi restaurant or two, or three, so its tough to know where to go. Sushi is also one of those foods that people are hesitant of because its raw, so you have to go to a trustworthy spot. I can say from years of experience that Mikado is as good as it gets. The sushi is FRESH and delicious. All of the cuts are vibrantly colored and have the right firmness to them, so you can tell they are on top of their product quality. Whenever I go to a new sushi spot, I try some of their signature rolls, but I also try a spicy tuna roll as a metric - Mikado has a great spicy tuna! You want a place that can do the basics well, and Mikado has a great roll no matter what you order. Mikado is also very consistent with their product. Ive been in sushi restaurants where all the pieces of the roll, or pieces of sashimi are different shapes and sizes. This shows a lack of concern and finesse. It also doesnt guarantee that youll have the same experience each time you go back. Mikado always puts out a great plate of food. They also have hot entrees in case sushi is not your thing. Their Salmon Dream is amazing, the Chicken Katsu is perfect, and the Bento boxes are great. They can also cater to big parties, Ive had 30 people go there and all of the food was consistently great. Their delivery service is top notch as well. Its fast and the food maintains its quality beautifully. I can honestly say there is no loss in experience if youre a local. I have no experience with their delivery service outside the town of Lynbrook. As someone that is a picky eater and looks for food excellence, I strongly recommend Mikado to anyone.

When we cant decide where to go, or we are in a rush, we always end up here as our reliable go-to place. We end up coming here at least once a month for the last five years. Great food, whether we pick sushi or noodles or tempura. Friendly and fast service, and great value. Take out and delivery service is also wonderful. Never disappointed.

I came here for the sushi buffet lunch. I was hoping for eel sushi, but that is usually reserved for the dinner buffet. There were so many other options that it didnt bother me too much. The beef was tender and udon noodles was perfectly cooked. The desserts were also cute and tasty, my favorite was the mini raspberry cheesecake.

We have gone to Mikado for the past 2 years and it is consistently very good. Never thought abut Mikado as a lunch spot but having them deliver to my office and home was a real treat. Food is fresh and hot (and delicious) and I am really impressed with the staff. A real find and go-to place
