We had an absolutely wonderful meal last night at the small and charming Cafe Marmotte. To begin, we shared the beet salad which was fresh and delicious. My date had the halibut which he very much enjoyed. I ordered the duck which arrived in a unique vanilla bean sauce, cooked to perfection, and came with a marvelous parsnip puree, and asparagus. I have eaten duck in many places throughout the world, and this was the best I have ever had. The chocolate molten cake and strong decaf cappuccino provided a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The only drawback to the experience is that we had to wait quite a while to be seated. Also, the bread serving could have been more generous, and the butter I requested tasted a bit like the refrigerator. But these details were far outweighed by our superb meal.

This place got rave reviews from a few friends, so we tried it out. Although the service is nice and the space is quaint, the food was just too salty. I ordered the ravioli (seasonal) and it was basically inedible. They took it back, and returned with the octopus. Still way too salty. At this point, I felt like the chef was messing with me. They took it off the bill and gave us the scallops, which were great, but a little too late in the game. Could have been an off night, but for the price, not the best food experience.

We love brunching and trying new places so we had to try Cafe Marmotte. We had heard good things about Cafe Marmotte from friends of ours and were not disappointed. We had the crepes with berries and the croquet madame, which were excellent!

My favorite little slice of Wash Park. The creamy French onion soup is divine. The beef cheeks are rich and tender and the wine list is decidedly French focused. Be sure to start with the Bees Knees cocktail.

We had a lovely dinner for two. The cafe has only maybe 15 tables so it is nice and intimate. We had perfect service and very good dinners.... We will go again.

A gem of a restaurant. Best meal I have had in a long time. Very savory and the prices were more than reasonable. Good wine list too.

The service was excellent even though they were pretty busy. We tried the Coq Au Vin and swordfish, which were wonderful.
