My fiancé and I were visiting my close childhood friend in Colorado Springs this last week. We are from Rio Rancho, NM, and of course chile is part of our daily bread. We went in and met the owner Billie Border from Arizona Navajo nation. He was wonderful, and gave us 5 star treatment. He brought out all 4 heats of chile for us to sample and gave us great conversation. I had the chicken fried tacos and my fiance had the beef fried tacos; both were incredible. We will always stop and see Billie at the Western Omelette!

Usually I come here and have a great experience however this time was quite different. It seems unless they are slow you will get good service and quality food, when its busy forget about it. It took 10 minutes for menus and then once that was resolved they had a larger party come in we were booted from our spot completely when I had been sitting there for way more than 15minutes. Glad to know my party of 3 wasnt worth it. Terrible customer service, minus the few waitresses I see regularly on the weekday mornings.

If youre looking for the authentic Southwest breakfast and lunch, this is the place. Nothing is fancy here, and it makes no attempts to be anything other than it it: a place where you can get almost anything drowned in their delicious green chile. The standard comfort breakfast foods are simply amazing. This is not a health food restaurant. This is a place for gravy, meat, eggs, grease and green chile in more or less any combination you can dream of. And what a wonderful dream it is.

We went around noon on a Monday. Wife got a monte cristo sandwich that was really good. My omlette was below average, hash browns were burnt beyond even being edible. Replacement hash browns were cold and bland. Pancakes were dense and dry. Kids grilled cheese was also burnt. Service was good. Waitresses seemed friendly. Overall we dont see a reason to return, there is simply better places to go in the area.

Good food but our server was so twacked out off something. She kept forgetting what we ordered, our drinks, etc. She was very slow and slurred with her words. Her hands were shaking so bad as well. Also while watching all the servers sit down and talk about who knows what I noticed one drinking a pint of fireball. I wouldnt say that was very professional, but I dont know the rules there.

Service time after being seated, very poorly. Also seems to be chaotic with just observing operation. Drink refills are forgotten. Took over an hour for the food to make it to our table. Feel as the service is unacceptable. Meal was cool, not warm, home fries undercooked. Enough for me to lose my appetite. Our meal was compensated. Wont be in top choices for future breakfast.

We have been going to Western Omelette for over 20 years, this time we were not thrilled with the food or service. Food sat too long before it was delivered to our table, eggs were rubber. Waitress was very slow to come back to the table after taking our order, to the point that one of us got up to get our own refills on coffee. VERY disappointed this visit.

Ok, I cant help it--I love me a good greasy spoon restaurant. And a greasy spoon that serves Mexican breakfast and lunch? Im so there. Note: the hot green chili is HOT--made with habernero peppers. The red chili is also hot but its not so hot that you cant cool it off a touch with a nice side of sour cream. My husband likes the mild green chili. :)

Western Omelette is quickly becoming a favorite breakfast haunt for our family. The staff is friendly and keeps the coffee refills coming. Portion sizes are enough to satisfy even the stoutest of stomachs and the price is quite reasonable. The omelettes are excellent but dont hesitate to try the Chipped Beef or the French Toast Sandwich!

Im a guy who likes spicy food and I usually have a hard time finding stuff near my limit. I can safely say that this place found my limit and exploited it! The Western Omelette truly has the hottest green chili in the universe! If you want to burn your stomach and colon linings out, eat here! Their huevos rancheros are amazing!

Walk my dog past here and it is often busy, so decided to give it a try. I had the southern scramble which was very tasty. My girlfriend had the Monte Cristo which was also delicious. The service was very good and the facility is very clean. Food was moderately expensive with menu items from $9 - $12.

Precious was our server and it was not a good experience. Ordered the 3 piece french toast toast breakfast and received the two. The bacon, which is normally awesome was cold, my step daughters toast was forgotten as well as my wifes pancakes. Used to be a great place to go, not too sure anymore.

Great food and service! Had the chipped beef and it was superb! Wife had the French toast breakfast sandwich and it was huge and dee-lish! Dont let the vintage look of this greasy spoon diner dissuade you from a visit! You wont be disappointed. I cant wait to come back and try other dishes!

Good food but avoid if its busy. Waited 20 min for a table on Sunday, ordered and 40 minutes after ordering we were in queue because the kitchen was backed up. We left after an hour with no food. Perhaps its worth it on weekdays, on weekends Id go somewhere else

Twenty-five years of goodness! One of my local favorites. You can get in, get good food and get out. Servers are adults who know how and why to deliver good service. Unique and quite unlike the yuppie chain restaurants around town that hire teenagers.

Their idea of huevos rancheros is wayyyy off the mark. The red chili was good but the rest was a nightmare. More of a flat burrito stuffed full of chorizo with some low quality cheese. Kids loved the chicken strips though. So I gave 3 stars.

Worst service I have had in a long time. Waitresses took 30 minutes just to get us a menu and drinks. Then another 30 minutes to bring us our food. When we got the food it was aweful, cold but burnt. Ranch potatoes had no seasoning.

Last week we had an awesome omelet at this incredible restaurant. Today, we had the Eggs Benedict. Wow! We split our meal, good thing. Huge Eggs Benedict with hash Browns. Scrumptious! We love this new find. Jeff and Ruth Browning

The food is very good! I go there a lot not just because the food is so good but because of the beautiful pictures and that famous little toy train hanging above. Everyone is very friendly and I have a great time, like always. :)

Sat on the patio. Had great service on a beautiful sunny day. Had the spicy green chili, ouch. They were not kidding. Service was outstanding. Best part of the meal was seeing the patio chicken dancing around. We will be back.

We went in for a To-go order and right from the jump waitress were quick to help us. This is the best breakfast Ive had in Colorado Springs; almost period. Hands down excellent service and great food almost too good. 5/5

Simply great food! I enjoyed the Juevos Rancheros with cheese smothered 50/50 with the red chili and southwest green chili. It was well prepared and served. Great service too! We will certainly return.
