Living in Boulder and coming to Beaver Creek often weve had the chance to visit The Metropolitan more than a few times and with consistency I can say the place is sub par. It sells itself as a tapas restaurant. It is not. Having spent time in Spain I would trade the worse tapas bar in Madrid for this place. The menu is limited and has little to do with tapas. The other night we did try the batatas braves and they were under cooked--so much so we had to ask for them to be heated more, only to have someone in the back come out to tell us, we needed to change our order because any more cooking would burn them. We also had sashito peppers which is rarely found in Spain and they were also undercooked and had to be sent back. Their wine selection only has one maybe two Spanish selections, and they are cheap and tasteless at best. I would give the sommelier a 2 out of 10 for the quality he brings to the restaurant. The big kicker is that for a $24 cheese and ham plate they serve crostini. Have you ever tried to eat a quality cheese on a crostini? It literally crumbles all over the place and they dont have any substitute. Net, net. It is a shame this place even has tapas anywhere in its marketing. Thats a lie. Then everything else is really downhill. I hope that it goes out of business soon so something better can take root and a quality experience to Beaver Creek.

We grabbed dinner at the Met while looking for our wedding venue in Beaver Creek. Holy cow, what a pleasant surprise! The food was absolutely delicious along with awesome drinks (must try the barrel-aged manhattan!). The tacos, tuna sliders, bacon wrapped dates, cake bites - it was all so delicious. Plus the crazy enomatic 16-bottle wine machine they have there, which is not only an awesome conversation piece, but it’s a great way to try a bunch of wines rather than having to get a glass at a time. The food and drinks were so good, we decided to throw a happy hour for our guests the day before the wedding. Again, the food was absolutely delicious. They handled our 50+ guests with ease, the food was just as good at scale, the venue fit our group very well (could have taken even more). Service was excellent - Thair served excellent drinks while Kenny and Rob served and kept an eye on everything throughout the afternoon. Chef Steven was a pleasure to work and chat with. Kenny was a pleasure to work with - he kept on eye on our budget to make sure we had enough food for everyone without going crazy. Overall, this was an amazing venue to eat at either on our own or with a giant group. Prices are very reasonable and the food is unmatched in the village. Thanks so much to these folks!!

This new wine bar features a self-serve enomatic wine dispenser loaded with 16 savvy selections, including stuff like Opus One. Chef Mike Bickelhaupt serves easy-going comfort food—pulled pork tacos, awesome Colorado lamb albondigas, addictive homemade potato chips with blue cheese mornay and an incredible charcuterie plate—to match the chill, laid-back vibe.

A fun atmosphere and a lively place to be. Warm setting, a wine dispensing machine at the heart of the dining room featuring many bottles (in addition to the wine list) to be sampled. Food is consistently good, having sampled several tapas dishes. Booth setting alliows bigger parties. Recommend a try!

We loved our dinner at Metropolitan. Relaxed atmosphere, causal ambiance, great service... and the food, creative tapas style to share, was excellent. Everything was tasty, well seasoned, cooked to perfection... we all really enjoyed the experience. The wine list was well rounded as well.
