We own a vacation rental in Bodega Bay and have been trying to create a food and wine app for our customers to really have the opportunity to experience the best that Sonoma County has to offer, not just the touristy subpar places to eat. Well last night we experienced Hazel for the first time and feel quite comfortable adding this to one of the go to favorites for our guests. The staff worked together like a well oiled machine and the food was amazing. There seemed to be a mix of regulars as well as new visitors and we were all treated like family. The fact that it is a family business just makes it all the more attractive. We feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience Hazel and look forward to many more visits.

The restaurant is fresh and cozy with a rotating seasonal menu. Everything we tried was delicious and multifaceted. We had to try everything on the table and kept being awed. Tender, juicy roasted chicken; massive, flavorful ribeye; and crisp, nuanced pizza. The fresh bread was amazing, and the scallop ceviche was tart and sweet and biting and buttery all at the same time. The wine menu was varied enough to cover everyones taste. I cannot even describe how wonderful dessert was. Friday is pie day, and the salted honey pie was something we had never experienced before. The service was personal and attentive. It was a great evening.

Husband had the halibut and loved it, I had the chicken and had to share. Husband loved my dish so much he ate a good portion of this as well. Still a lot left when done. Absolutely the best chicken dish we have ever had. Brussel sprouts were awesome. Great service. What a fantastic place, without staying in town, by chance, we would have never found this restaurant. Deserves its high rating.

Yes, a beautiful vegan dinner beet root salad no feta is so perfectly prepared from fresh young butter lettuce and baby leafy greens its a fancy dish in a nice atmosphere and ambiance. I could tell the greens were hand selected from small farms by the fresh picked-same-day crisp leaves. It was like the salads I used to make fresh from the garden. Its a great farm-to-table experience.

Excellent dinner at Hazel tonight. The fried Brussels sprouts were fantastic!! The fresh crab in chili butter was delicious, even though it took effort to remove it from the shell. Also at our table were the halibut and schnitzel. Everyone loved their meal. The fresh sourdough bread was also awesome. A new favorite Occidental restaurant for us!

Great atmosphere, great food, great service! This restaurant is a great destination if you stay in / around Occidental. Simple but very tasty dishes, from appetizers (we got some grilled octopus) to main dishes. Pizzas (yes, pizzas) were original and tasty, and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. Will come again!

Incredible food and atmosphere, great service and wine pairings with a strong, chef-driven menu. This place serves an outstanding meal, and while prices are higher than expected, the quality justifies the outlay. Great for an intimate dinner during your romantic getaway.

The gem of the forest! I had the ribeye and homemade blueberry pie, and both were crazy delicious. The steak was giant and so flavorful, and the pie was absolutely the best Ive ever had. Really cute romantic interior and patio seating in front and back.

I love when an impassioned team create magic. This husband/wife duo have moved to our neighborhood and elevated the experience of living in a village. The service and ambiance are down-to-earth, but the food out of this world.
