Now this is a cafe I frequent, but Ill try to stay impartial. The first thing that sticks out to me about Dancing Goats is the name. Once I discovered the story behind it (many many years ago...maybe) I came to like Dancing Goats even more than I already had because of the names rich significance. If you call yourself a coffee aficionado and dont already know the story I suggest you do a little research on your own, and get with it. Dancing Goats is the place to go for coffee in downtown Decatur. Its your everyday cafe. There are plenty of regulars in this place. It has this dynamic appeal of being completely suitable for a meet up with friends AND the perfect study or work location. So far, it champions its other rivals in the neighborhood. You cant miss it as you drive down Ponce into Decatur because there are sure to be people on the patio, maybe with a dog or two, if the weather is decent. Take a step inside and youll soon discover why this cafe warrants the high rating we gave it. Atmosphere- This cafe has a clean and open feel to it thanks to its high ceilings, dark wood, and clean blue color scheme. There is plenty of seating space and options-espresso bar, window seats, couches, large work tables, patio, you name it...and its a good thing because I have never seen the place without a steady stream of customers. Take a look at the ceiling lights when youre there- I think theyre kinda special. This exemplifies the ideal cafe atmosphere according to Anand and me. Coffee- The coffee tastes amazing and they have a lot to choose from if you decide to purchase beans. However, they only brew three blends for customers. Why guys? I would like to see more selection. Maybe weekly coffee samplings or a rotating blend. Dont get rid of the Dancing Goats blend though because it is what I elect every time. This dark roast comes out perfect, consistently. A note to all of you who buy a coffee and want to stay for a while- ask for a mug and youll receive a free refill! Service- The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and they do their job well. The cafe is always well maintained which is noteworthy especially because of its size. We liked their attempts at being a bit greener too. Location- Downtown Decatur is a wonderful place so this location is spectacular. Dancing Goats is easy to get to, has a full parking lot behind it, and is in a great walkable neighborhood. Legitimacy- They are Batdorf & Bronson. They dont just sell and brew it, no, this is the only Batdorf & Bronson store you will see outside of Washington State. Their particular Dancing Goats blend is served at multiple locations throughout Atlanta and you can buy a variety of whole bean roasts at the cafe. Special Note: Head over to Dancing Goats on Thursday nights when they stay open late and offer live music.

Dear Dancing Goats Coffee, I was recently given the boot by your retail location located in Decatur, Georgia. Being a patron and resident of Decatur for the past 4 years, I have regularly used this parking lot after hours to be able to walk to dinner and other local shops in the area. While I recognize a need to have parking for this location during regular business hours, I find it disturbing that you are booting Decatur citizens when your coffee shop is not open and the lot is virtually empty. Seeing that your company promotes sustainability in its coffee, I see no sustainability in your humanitarian practices. Booting cars during the after hours of your business creates a community that is forced to shell out an extra $75 and also creates a bad reputation amongst our tight knit community. In this tough economic times patrons are already thrifty with their spending habits. This surprise burden deals a heavy blow and leads to economic insustainability. I will no longer be supporting your fine coffees and will be blowing the whistle on this matter until it is resolved. I suggest more of a community approach to this parking matter by allowing patrons to use your lot after hours and not booting the people that actual provide your business with a profit. Acceptable Solutions Post visible signage stating the parking rules and allow patrons to park after business hours when the lot is not in use. Provide patrons with a warning first if someone makes a mistake by parking during business hours.

Listen up, the Goats are dancing because the electric flames of desire are flickering around in their coffee. Want an awesome shock to rock you to moon and back? Get an espresso made by Joel the master to teach all masters of the ways of the coffee that makes the Goats Dance. WOW yes I just made that come around full circle because I just had a cup of their joe that makes you feel like you have the power to take over the world and call yourself some awesome name like Sir Awesomeness KING OF THE GOATS! It also makes you ask two questions. First who is Joe?!?!?........ and Second why do I feel so powerful when Joel makes me a cup of his Joeness? With all of that being said. What are we doing tonight Brain? The same thing we do every night Pinky try and take over the world with dancing goats coffee.

My new favorite spot for coffee in Atlanta. I wish Id found it sooner. Besides serving cappuccino that would be acceptable even in Vienna or Rome, its the only spot Ive found in Atlanta which even comes close to properly preparing a pour-over cup. The ambiance is superb as well. Theres plenty of space between each table, the milk steamers dont sound like jet engines, the windows let in tons of natural light, and the overall noise level is only as loud as the patrons who happen to be there at the same time. You shouldnt have trouble finding parking in the lot that abuts three sides of the cafe. Overall, its a great place to get some work done or just relax and enjoy a cup of quality coffee.

Overall, a fan. Coffee here is a little expensive, but its great location and ambiance. Their covered outdoor seating is a great open space with a few bench swings. Can be hard to find an outlet if its busy, but theres free wifi. I would say its a better place for chatting with a friend than doing work. They have a little bit of actual outside seating, but not much. The coffee itself is good - no complaints. Service is fine, never had any particularly good or bad experiences, but I also just order black coffee normally. They sell pastries as well.

Note: if you dont mind a dark roast or you use cream/sugar, you likely will enjoy the coffee here. if you have a preference for quality, single-origin coffee, keep driving. What they call single origin translates to "not a blend". Bator & Bronson is a PNW roaster known for its darker roast preference across the board. A few people here know their stuff but most staff are largely origin-illiterate. in short, the coffee sucks. get down to Condessa or Octane in the city if you want a quality piur-over.

Dancing goats is easily the best coffee shop in Decatur. The service is always friendly and quick, and the coffee is amazing. The only downside to this location is the seating. Not only is there very little, but the seating is very segmented. There are a few couches which make it a bit awkward when trying to find seating, along with two large tables. Then there are bar seats and outdoor seating. Theres usually no seating available - especially on weekends but if its nice out theres seating outside!
