Service is horrible found two hairs on my food 1 on my toast and the other one on my eggs I approached the waitress but instead of being helpful she was very rude didnt apologize didnt say hey let me switch it she just said to me so what do you want me to do I had shown her one first and then we realize that my toast had one too so second time we approached her she was very defensive and rude ask for a manager manager took forever just to help me out the service has gone down the drain used to come here all the time then decide to give it a chance cuz I had completely forgotten what had happened and then going again order my meal and then they say I know that bring the wrong order I let them know that was my order maybe with someone elses guy comes out and says oh no thats the New York steak but my husband had the same order clearly you could see the difference finally got switch the order and give me the correct but by that time my family was done and ready to go didnt enjoy my meal I had to pick up and go cuz you know when you have a 4 year old its never easy so therefore they need to better than service and their food....

The place was overcrowded and the staff seemed overwhelmed. My food was mediocre but Michael was the saving grace. We originally were seated up front but the draft from the door was massive so wed asked to be reseated further away. We were warned, actually warned that wed now be in someone elses section but seeing as wed had to fight for our waiters attention to no avail we were fine with that. Wed been there nearly 20 minutes and our orders had not even been taken. To top it off our waiter serviced a gentleman that was seated right next to us who had just come in, before even asking for our drink selection. But then the universe gave us Michael. He was so attentive, patient and kind. Quite charming, kept us smiling. He even tried to arrange for them to sing me happy birthday but the crew, I suppose, were too busy so he brought me a free sundae. Thanks for the service Michael!

I went there sunday morning just to get a quick take out breakfast, so I grabbed a menu and looked at what was available, ok there was a breakfast with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast, for 6.79, I thought ok I will treat myself today being a poor person and told the cashier I also pointed out the breakfast on the menu, and pulled out my wallet, but then she said that it was $11.00 and some change because it was sunday ??? And that the listed price on the menu was only good Monday thru Friday.. I thought that that was kinda backwards being that one it was early sunday morning the day of worship for many and showing kindness and love for gods creation , and not only that but the prices should stay the same 24 hours 7 days a week. So I just said thats ok Ill go to subway instead..

I was totally disrespected and cursed at by a waiter who was on a bunch of drugs because I misunderstood him when he said that he is seating seven people and I am by myself! Hey said I dont give a ****, leave! I told him I misunderstood what he said and theres plenty of places for me to say it but I wont be disrespected that way especially by low-grade food, they were convenient and open late so I thought I would get some food because I was starving but after my experience I little rather starve than ever support this place! Do not eat at this place they are disgusting to people and their food is just convenient for late night and is disgusting also from previous experiences which werent good! You are in Beverly Hills not in the ghetto! Total joke of a place to eat!

The phone rang off the hook over 6 times, i had to call the location in Santa Monica just to confirm that the Norms on La Cienega was in fact open and in business, they just didnt answer their phone. I had to put a large pick up order in for my clients and after 10 minutes of the phone ringing and ringing they finally decided to answer the phone and let me know they dont do phone orders, thanks for wasting my time!! You could have picked up the phone like your other location and let me know so I couldve been on my way. Instead Im here waiting for the order at the restaurant. Upon arrival the older lady behind the counter seemed bothered to have to deal with a new customer. I would have ran from this place if it wasnt an order for my clients!!

Norms often shows up on lists of iconic restaurants in LA because of its design. Its a classic, mid-century diner that continues to be incredibly busy. I appreciate that they have a parking lot. As everyone reports, the portions are huge. My Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs was about $10 and came with hashbrowns and 2 pancakes. On the downside, my husbands Steak, for Steak & Egg Breakfast was seriously raw. Enter our amazing waiter Jack! He waited to see how my husbands steak was - he was worried it might be underdone...he took it right back and made sure to was cooked to temp. Jack is a great waiter - I would go back just to visit him! Good diner food, great prices, awesome environment and VERY interesting people watching!

Ordered the $11.99 TV Steak and Shrimp special, without salad, with green beans, well done steak, and baked potato. The steak was under cooked. Shrimp was breaded and good, but not as big as shown on the Television commercials. I did not want lettuce, but was on my plate anyway. Expected green beans, but got squash instead. The baked potato was good, and was given the amount of margarine that I wanted. It will be a very long time before I come back here to eat, if ever at all. I will try another Norms restaurant just to see if they can cook a steak properly. If you want a steak cooked to order, I recommend bypassing this location of NORMS.

Visited 2/15/2016 - My review isnt for the food. The food itself is great comfort food, truck stop, home-style food. Portions are great. My review is for the facility itself. * Parking area dirty. Vomit or Milkshake on space * Table was sticky * Area inside just seemed to smell unclean * The back sitting area seemed to always smell like cigarettes, when I finally was leaving I noticed two employees smoking near the rear door which probably explains the smell. * Most all waitresses were kinda rude, ours was nice * The decor, neatness, and overall cleanliness just seemed to be really lacking

Went there for the first time with my family (6 persons) and I was very disappointed with the service. You wouldnt understand what the waitress was saying when she took our order. One of my sons ordered water for his drink & she gave him sweetened iced tea. My other son wanted mushroom on his Sirloin steak & there was none. My other son ordered his steak with french fries & he got mash potato. We didnt even get our deserts that comes with the combo. If you plan to eat at Norms, its best branch is in Huntington Park area. Service is fast, friendly crews, bigger portion, and delivers what you order.
