Some friends and I were going bowling at the Gable House and were looking for a good place to meet for lunch. I just did a yelp search and this was the highest rated place in the area. We were all game for Indian so Bombay Tandoori it was! Well, we were not disappointed; even though its part of a middling-looking Days Inn, I was impressed by how clean and nice it looked inside, with tablecloths, cloth napkins, and waiters dressed in shirts and ties and constantly in motion--straightening silverware, pouring water, asking how things were, etc etc. We all opted for the $11.95 champagne buffet, and what a bargain! Everything was so tasty and well-prepared. All your Northern Indian favorites are there: tandoori chicken, chicken masala, palak paneer, samosa, fried potato thingies, garlic naan, and much more! One disappointment was that they didnt have those fried dough balls in the sweet sauce in the dessert section, but they did have fruit, rice pudding, and the sweet carrot thing, which was really more than enough after having stuffed myself with the rest of their buffet. Overall an excellent value with great service--I highly recommend it!

Pathetic food & service. The word Bombay in restaurant name is just misleading. We asked them what they can make without onion & garlic. We had a very limited choice though. We ordered Gobi Manchurian, Veg Biryani, Tandoori Roti & Dal Makhani. Gobi Manchurian tasted as if the fritters were fried in refried oil (same oil used over & over again for frying) & it seems same oil used for veg & non veg. They were all coated in too much tamarind sauce. Veg biryani - description on menu says highly aromatic basmati rice. Firstly no basmati rice, they served long grain rice which was very thick & no aroma & taste. The worst was Dal Makhani. He brought it garnished with onions. We changed it & again I could see onion pieces again. Third time I was scared to taste but alas it was tasteless. Menu describes as lentils in creamy butter sauce. No trace of butter or cream. Horrible experience of my life. They kept supporting their food & everything & didnt want to take customer feedback too. Worst for vegetarian food atleast.

Finally, a superb Indian restaurant that really tries hard to give you food the way you ask for it! On my first visit, I asked for my food to be made very spicy, and it was, wonderfully so. On my second visit, I asked for medium spicy - and it was, right on target. I am planning my next visit as we speak. So, whats good? So far, we have tried chicken vindaloo, lamb vindaloo, tandoori chicken (they dont add the red food coloring, which makes it healthier, and does not affect the taste), and Pulao rice, which has to be the best anywhere - a great blend of rice, peas, nuts, golden raisins, and aromatic spices. Everything we have tried has been as good as I have had anywhere, in Los Angeles or in London. The service is immediate, attentive, and expert. If you can go for dinner, the food can be tuned for you more effectively than is possible at a buffet style lunch. This place now sets the standard for all to match.

This is a very pleasant restaurant, clean and nicely decorated. The service is excellent too, it would be hard to find better. We visited with a party of five, three who wanted very spicy, one medium, and one mild. They listened very carefully to our requests, and even modified one dish by leaving out the raisins. When the food came everything was exactly right for each person. We ordered two tandoori dishes and had them make one spicy, Ive never seen that done before. Both Tandoori sizzlers were fantastic; juicy and yet fully spiced ... mmmm. The white-meat chicken tandoori was not dry at all. The mixed tandoori included some nice chunks of fish, and some really good lamb sheesh kebab. The Chicken Saag (Spinach) was very good too. The Goat Vindaloo had good meat and was healthy, but contained too much tomato for my taste. The Lamb Shahee Korma was a little bland, but good quality ingredients.

Not sure how this place is getting 4 and 5 start reviews. Food is far from authentic, mediocre at best. We went there 4 times and each time had a below average experience. Staff is good and courteous. However food offered in lunch buffet is really average. We could see that chutneys, rice and some of the curries were really old and probably were refrigerated for many days. I feel sorry for the locals who dont know what actual Indian food tastes like. Bombay tandoori and other similar places dont do any justice to what Indian food really is.

I live in Torrance and very close to this place. If you really want to have some tasty authentic Indian food then this is one of the place u must visit. Their garlic nan, chicken tikka and goat korma are absolute must try. Friday and Weekend Buffets are awesome and u will also enjoy a free drink (champagne included) !! Not a bad deal huh!! I have been to this place numerous times and would highly recommend, Also they have candle light dinner ambience which I believe would be perfect for a date night !!

It was ok experience. - Saag was good (not sure if there was a hint of garlic flavor) - Samosa was not good and had bit flaky cover and inside stuffing came out all in bits-n-pieces unlike a good samosa - Green Chutney taste was good and spicy, however tamarind by itself tasted bit sour (liquorish taste) - Chappati is tandoor roti and not soft Chappati - Decor moghul rather than Bombay - No other items of Bombay origins so dont be deceived by name of the place!

Tandoori chicken, lamb curry, saag paneer. The chicken was screaming hot on a sizzling plate and fully of flavor. .. and my favorite the little crispy edges. The lamb curry was seasoned very well and the lamb was plentiful. The saag paneer was a little mushy for my taste but my girl loved it. Overall a great dinner. Excellent service and great food. I look forward to coming back for the lunch buffet i keep hearing about.

I have just tried their buffet on a weekend and honestly I was not impressed. I had huge expectations for this place after browsing on yelp and google. But then most Indian restaurants dont produce their best when it comes to buffet, as most original flavors (not just spicy) are toned down.... So my advice would be not try their buffet if you have a choice to order from their menu.

Best place in Los Angeles. Id like to think that no one can rate an Indian Restaurant but an Indian. The reception and the hosts are the most friendliest people you can find. They do it from their heart. They have an awesome Banquet Hall which we used 4 years ago for my sons first birthday. They made it so memorable.

Five stars are for food but customer service experience disappointed me big time. The guy serving us was making fun of my family in Punjabi language and thats not nice. I will definitely be calling back to tell the owner about it to assure that they never do this to anyone else
