Saw a GroupOn deal for $10 gets you $20 in credit and I always wanted to try this place so I went for it. Asked the girl on the phone what comes with the entree chicken tikka masala and she says rice for two, and the entree, and that the dinner comes with veggies, rice for one and naan. So I order chicken tikka masala entree and coco lamb dinner. I get home and what I have is chicken tikka masala, one tiny rice, some potatoes, lentils, coco lamb and naan. Missing two sides of rice, not a big deal the naan was big, but still a little disappointing. I call them up to tell them, and the man tells me "what she told you was two sides of rice for the rice entree" when I know I specifically asked what comes with the chicken tikka masala entree. Anyway, I realize, I paid $10, for my GroupOn deal ($10 for $20) they marked it used on my phone, then I realize when I got home that they only discounted it $10.. from about $34 to $24.. so in other words I paid $10 for $10. The chicken tikka masala sauce was quite good, chicken was VERY salty. This coming from a guy who adds salt to everything (including cups o noodle). My girlfriend tried the chicken and agreed it was incredibly salty. However she absolutely loved her Coco lamb.. said it will have her going back. Also the chicken tikka masala had these weird nuts in it. I cannot stand nuts in things like this, every chicken tikka masala Ive ever had is smoothish sauce and tender chicken. This had weird long nuts that really threw off the texture I felt. I will go in tomorrow, I really hope they refund me the $10 they owe me.. sort of a bummer experience for me. Also overall its very overpriced for the amount of food they give you. Ive had bigger quantity, better tasting food at other places.

Good service at any restaurant starts with courteous and attentive staff that make you feel special. I found that in Kochi in every visit. Now about the food. Gobi Manchurian is an excellent starter with mildly spicy kick to your taste buds. Avial is a favorite vegetarian entree for many South Indians that go to Kochi. I found it authentic and delicious. Chicken chettinadu can never go wrong if you are looking for a chicken entree. Biryani is ok... Not the best in town. With a bar in house you have various options for beverages that include a good connection of wine.

Akbar Cuisine is an unassuming place on the corner of a shopping center whos entrace does not face the door. Upon entering you arrive instantly into an upper middle scale east Indian ambiance. The booth side of the tables are dressed with intricate pillows that add romance and coziness to the dining room. The place is always neat and all vacant tables are sharply dressed for their next guest. The food here is fantastic. My favorites are Samosas and Chicken Tiki Massala with cheese naan. The included sauces at every table are amazing. Indian Cuisine at its best!

This is the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. I ordered the aloo gobi and the Channa Masala. The aloo gobi was the most unappetizing shade of puke green and the cauliflower was the consistency of mashed potatoes. It had no chopped up potatoes or other vegetables like it usually does. It simply had one small whole potato buried down in the center. The Channa Masala shinned comparatively, however fell way below par, as well. I have tried many Indian restaurants before and have never tasted any as bad as this. On the bright side the customer service was great...

I am sorry but really a dissapointing experience due to worst food. The quality of the food itself is bad especially the chicken fry and goat curry (called aattirachi in the menu). Taste was really bad and food quality( meat) was also bad. Please dont go to this place expecting a nice experience. If you want to try this then ok. Only the name is kochi but its no where near to any of the authentic Indian foods. There are a lot of Indian restaurants where we will get nice Indian food. Please stay away if you are expecting a better Indian taste

The worst samosa Ive ever had, I was disappointed to come here few times and I still comeback because of one dish. But everything else was really bland! The dinner set was small, expensive and doesnt really have a flavor. Specially the sides of lentil and potatoes OMG! The delivery was also always so late and theres usually a mistake.

Very bad experience. We went to restaurant seeing the name and menu but was very disappointing and i want to make it very clear that this is not the real taste of most of the dishes in menu. Not good food and very rude staff. If you want a real indian food, this is not the place.

The food was OK, but not outstanding. I was quoted 20 minutes for a take-out order, but waited 45 minutes. The restaurant was 20% full. When I received my food, the majority of it was lukewarm. Id suggest trying someplace else.

Been going here since it was Akbar. Food is very good featuring what they say is Southern Indian. I guess my palate isnt sensitive enough to detect the differences. It is tasty. They offer a buffet.

Worst food, rude service. They serve frozen bread(parottas). Please stay away and dont fall for any coupons. I am really surprised how they got 4 stars. This is no where close to Kerala cuisine..

Very tasty food. Gobi Manchurian was awesome! The Avila was great! The chettinad curry was delicious. On top of all this the staff Shehbaz is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place

Great Vindaloo, real spices, nice tender lamb and friendly service. Not fast but the food was fresh, better then most Indian restaurants where the food has been sitting in a pot all day.

Having a great Indian menu. I tried Chicken tikka masala and it was great as per Indian taste buds. Do tell to make them hot otherwise you will not like it.

The outside needs a little help, more plants in the diamond where there are weeds and palm trees
