Finally got the chance to try this place out. Ive seen the restaurant change over the years, but BDK has been here for the longest time and I can see why. The restaurant itself is quite small with mainly small tables and one larger round table in the middle. Even though my dad and I came on a weekday for lunch, the restaurant had a steady stream of customers flowing in and out - always a good sign. I ordered the beef noodle soup with thick noodles (which are handmade) - mild and my dad and I decided to try the satay angus beef noodles. The beef noodle soup - definitely one of my favorite beef noodle that Ive had. The broth was good, although the mild spiciness did overcloud the beef taste of the soup. I think if I had no spicy flavor at all, the soup would have tasted extremely good. My dad commented that the broth probably had a lot of beef, which was why the soup was so tasty. But my favorite part had to be the noodles! Each bite was chewy, but not too much so either. And I think since the noodles were soaked in the broth, each bite had that soupiness to it. On top of that, the soft and tender beef just tied the whole dish together. I feel like if that dish was good, the full house beef noodle soup will probably be so much tastier! The satay beef noodle - they were tasty, but the whole dish was drenched in oil that I couldnt eat too much of it because I was too conscious of that puddle of glistening oil. There were only a few pieces of beef and lettuce, but the noodles did have good satay flavor. Its interesting to note, that if you use their bathrooms, you walk through the kitchen and see the cooks preparing the food. That day, the people in the kitchen werent Taiwanese, but Mexican - wow, they prepared such authentic Taiwanese food I never would have known! tl;dr - Overall, a very good place for a quick bite to eat. They also serve drinks and Taiwanese snacks, but I feel like the prices are a little more expensive than other restaurants. Definitely check out the beef noodle soup and their handmade noodles! Cash only. It can get busy during drop off/pick up time for the ACI students since BDK is located right next door to ACI.

noodles are great, but the waiter could have a better attitude. I went there three times. The first time I had a great experience and the lady was really nice. The second time I asked if they could add chili to my noodle. The waiter laughed and said that their noodles are not the "mainlander style". (Um...OK...but can you add chili?) I was pretty offended by that. The third time I ordered take out (same man). He didnt ask for money when I ordered it so I assumed I could pay later. After 10 minutes or so my friends already got theirs so I ask him how much longer. Then I found out that it was ready but he didnt tell me because I didnt pay. What???? Its not that I dont want to pay, he could at least tell me that its ready so instead of sitting there wasting my time I could actually PAY and LEAVE. And when he gave me the change he basically threw it in my hands. I dont know if he did it purposely or not, but I definitely think he has a poor attitude.

I know, the noodles are good. Honestly though I come here for the fried rice like the immortal fried rice and shrimp fried rice. The Taiwanese tapas is great too.

Came here because it was listed as one of the best beef noodle places in LA but was not impressed at all. There were no veggies and the broth was fairly bland.

This the place to go if youre looking for a very spicy bowl of beef noodle soup. They also offer a variety of Taiwanese fare.
