I was hesitant to try the newly remodeled and reopened Night Owl Café by Origin Tea, but was sold on their 50% off during their soft opening phase. I didnt like the original Night Owl Café because I thought the prices were too expensive and the food and drinks were not good (at least what I had ordered). I came here with a more cautious mindset, but saw that the place was pretty much packed. And I definitely lowered my defenses when after I ordered a drink and a waffle, the total came out to be less than $10! And the final verdict after I tasted everything - amazing! I definitely do think I would pay full price for what I had gotten that day. Ambience: The café itself is really cute. The new wall decoration that features their name "Night Owl Café" is the perfect accompaniment to the tables and sofa/chairs and the bar stools and high tables that line the window. They also have cute decorations next to the cashier table. The lighting is not too bright, with fairly high ceilings. They offer Wi-Fi if you want to settle down with a drink and your laptop. Drinks: I tried the sea salt green tea twice, and I enjoyed drinking it both times. I dont like mixing my drink, and prefer to drink the green tea and save the cream for last. So I could definitely taste the quality of the green tea. It was not artificial tasting at all. And with the sea salt cream on top, it gave the tea some sweetness. There wasnt too big of a sea salt taste, which I like. The cream on top was really good - sweet, frothy, just like something youd expect on top of a cake ... only lighter. I would definitely say Night Owl Café has the best sea salt green tea drink out of all the other tea places (in my opinion). I also tried the rose lemon tea, which was a bit too fragrant for my liking. It was refreshing, but not as light as I thought it would be. I think if youre into the floral teas, this would be something youd enjoy. Waffles: One of the workers recommended the strawberry banana mochi waffle, and Im super glad I took her suggestion because it was amazing. It came with vanilla and sesame ice cream on top, a wafer roll, and about six mochi waffle slices with sliced bananas and strawberries surrounded by dollops of whipped cream and strawberry syrup. If that doesnt make your mouth water, look at the pictures! It looks great and tastes great. And for $6.25 (original price), I think thats a pretty good deal. The mochi waffle was soft, but still crispy on the outside. There was enough flavor to taste sweet on its own, but when paired up with the syrup, it was even better! And I came back with my friends to try the mango mochi waffle. It was good, but I liked the strawberry and banana one better. There were small slices of mango, some mochi, whipped cream and mango syrup, two strawberry wafer rolls, and a scoop of vanilla and green tea ice cream on top. It was good, but I think the mango didnt give it as much flavor as the strawberry syrup did. Some cons: -Only two menus located in front of cashier which can make it slightly awkward if there are lots of people waiting to order or if you dont know what you want but the cashier is waiting for you to order -There wasnt any air conditioning on one of the days, making the café really hot -No boba available :( -It seems like theres only one size for the cups, and at regular price, its a little pricey for such a small size. Maybe they will have large sizes after the promotion is over? -They are primarily focused on sweets and desserts with a few savory selections. Pros: -Everybody is incredibly nice and helpful. The workers checked up on us often and wanted to know if everything tasted good. Showed that they really cared about customers opinions and input. -The café is really cute. Just .. adorable. -Lots of parking! Located in the CVS plaza next to a music studio. -Free Wi-Fi -The drinks are high quality and the waffles are really really good! -I like how they ask about sugar and ice level.

This is a great place to satisfy your most demanding sweet tooth, and chill for a while. And when a place has me this wracked with indecision as to what to order, you know its going to be good. The menu is extensive, and yes, they do offer more than just sweets, teas, & coffees. And no, this is not your typical Asian boba place. In fact, I dont think they even offer boba, here. The sandwiches and crepes are delicious, but if Im going to drive out this far to try a restaurant/ cafe, I absolutely have to try the popular favorites; especially when those favorites are indulgent sweet treats not really done anywhere else. This place has a way better/ sweeter/ more chocolatey version of the Potted Tea. It is called the Chocolate au Lait, and is perfectly sweetened without making your teeth hurt. That job goes to the star of the show, the Waffle Finger Bowls. Or as some people might call them, Diabetes-in-a-Cup. I tried the Smores Banana bowl with waffle fingers. Sweet, merciful Maker, where do I even start? Three perfectly placed waffle fingers, denser in texture than most waffles, nestled snuggly between a small scoop of vanilla custard, Oreo ice cream, crushed walnuts and a swirl of whipped cream, which sit perfectly on a bed of tiny marshmallows, sliced bananas, chocolate cereal flakes, more waffle pieces, and to top it off, a sprig of mint leaves on top. As if that wasnt enough, they serve it with a small container of chocolate sauce on the side. Its ridiculous, but its a good kind of ridiculous... I think. When in doubt, bring a friend. Oh, and theyre also known for their soda floats, which seem to be "in," right now. The space is comfortable, with plenty of stools at the counters, and a few couch-like benches against the wall, complete with plush cushions; and youre allowed to chill for as long as you like. During the school year, it seems to get packed with the local alumni, though, so keep that in mind if you want to beat the rush of students that flock this place.

V recently reopened under new management, night owl is still one of my favorite places to park my ass for a few hours and get some work done. I cant say enough good things: parking is plentiful, ambience is low key instead of Starbucks hectic, outlets and wifi available. Music is mostly 00s r&b, isnt obnoxiously loud. Seats have cushions (perf for people w/o butt padding), tables are the right height, and closes late (11pm). Service is the best Ive ever had: attentive staff that also plied us w samples. Prices comparable to ten rens or au, tho w superior tea, service, and environment.
