Omg i love this restaurant. The food is at the right price and is oh so delicious. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The inside of the place is quit intimate and quaint. It can fill up quit quickly. Pick up orders can be made for convenience. The location is easy to find and if anything im sure a navigation system cpuld direct you there. I usually order the bento with teriyaki salmon, chicken katsu and tempura. My family usually gets a couple rolls which are songood and price worthy along with their katsu and teriyaki. Im not too sure on their drinks and alcohol selection we usually stick to water or hot tea. We frequent this spot at leastn2 to 3 times a month.

Sushi is better than some of the more expensive places in Stockton (Raw, Im looking at you.) and lots of different roles to choose from too. Im a huge fan of their chirashi bowl. Ive had it at Cocoro and Sho Mi as well, Matsuyama definitely makes the best in town. Matsuyama is great for dates. You can hold a conversation without having to speak over music or other people. Its an intimate, hole-in-the-wall type place with an attendant (but not hovering) staff.

Wed been hearing about In Out Burger for the last two weeks since we entered southern California on a cross country road trip. Service was outstanding but the product just didnt measure up. If Burgers and fries are all youre offering then they should be exceptional. We ordered two cheeseburgers with onions, one without and two orders of fries. Like I said, service super but the meal came in dead last against all the other fast food restaurants.

The Rolls are overpriced for a low quality restaurant. The was good, but the service needs a LOT of improvement. The cup they gave me was dirty, so I asked for another. When they gave me plates for the sauces, they were also dirty. Disgusting! Im not a clean freak but for gods sake how in the world are you going to serve dirty dishes? You can only imagine what goes on in the back...This place needs an audit! Im never going back there again!

The wasabi is fresh and of good quality. The sashimi is perhaps the best in Stockton. The tempura was well-prepared and quite satisfying. Customer service was very good, and theyve got Kitajima Saburo for background music. Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants in the region.

I ordered for take out sushi and the lady on the phone yelled at me on the phone when I thought she said a different time it would be ready; 15 minutes it would be ready. I waited more than 15 minutes for my order and waited for about 45 minutes for my order.

Been going here for the past 10 years. Best place for sushi in Stockton and the surrounding areas. Friendliest servers too. A bit on the pricier side, but you wont be disappointed. Personal favorite the Triple S, Chirashi, and the soft shelled crab.

HORRIBLE... worst sushi ever. The fish was bad. The rice was over cooked and mushy. The atmosphere is cheap and crowded. I sent my food back and they still charged us for it. I will never go back to this place!!

Matsuyama is our "go to" for Japaese food. Great food at reasonable prices! The servers are always friendly and attentive. I have never had bad food or bad service here and I eat here frequently.
