I do NOT recommend going to get breakfast at the organic coffee shop in Saratoga, 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee, and an hour to get a breakfast burrito. I stood and watched them make my breakfast burrito because I figured if I didnt stand there and BE in their face it would never get done. 30 people got their food who ordered after me. When they wrapped my breakfast burrito they put tape on the wrapper and then stuck it in a microwave. REALLY? that is not fresh and organic. Wont be going back there. The person who rode in the car with me ordered JUST ahead of me and got his food delivered to some other table but still it was 20 minutes faster than mine. The owner wasnt really doing anything except going around taking photographs. Tables sat with dirty plates all over them for a long time and the whole counter next to the kitchen was piled high with dirty plates.

Mocha, coffee, and cakes were all pretty boring. Not bad, just mediocre and expensive. The staff, while not obscenely rude, consisted of : an older lady who gave the impression she didnt want her job as she did bare minimum listening while people gave their orders or fidgety staring into space as people tried to decide what to order, or some younger people that stood behind the counter doing near nothing work related while gossiping about topics inappropriate for customers to overhear. Im guessing people like this coffee shop because its not Starbucks and it adds color to the "quaint" downtown.

Seriously good espresso drinks. They roast their own beans. You can specify what beans you want them to use. Ask for an extra shot and you will be imbibing a satisfyingly rich brew. Friendly and funky. Local favorite. Starting to get crowded but on warm weather you can sit outside. So far I havent had to really wait for a table, so I do many of my meetings here. Far better than Starbucks or Peets for reliably having an open table. Gelato not bad but wont meet your native Italian standard.

I will say this is a great place to drop into for a latte after hiking in the Santa Cruz mountains. However, like others I find it a bit overpriced - especially disappointed with the so called Peruvian empanadas that were flavorless and way over priced (over $5 for a medium sized empanada? No). That said, the coffee is good and I love the lemon meringue cake. The atmosphere overall is a great place with fast service and good vibes. Just dont get the empanadas :)

We were walking around Saratoga downtown on super hot (95 deg) Sunday afternoon and wanted to get indoors to get something cold and hopefully sit under A/C to cool down a bit. Unfortunately the A/C was barely running (Im being a brat here), but thats not the reason for 3 star, for a mom&pop coffee/snack cafe I was expecting more in house options, but most of the drinks were prepackaged stuff except for the coffee. Even that was alright, nothing to rave about.

This quaint little cafe is just the right place for breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea, and dessert. It has indoor and outdoor seating. There is quite a variety of foods for breakfast and lunch. The food is delicious!!They also have an extensive tea and coffee selection as well as dessert selection. We are visiting in the area and happened to stop by. Im so thrilled that we did! Big Basin Cafe has become our go-to place for delicious foods and drinks.

Slow service, worse food (microwaved-yet-cold, orange-fake cheese burito), dirty tables and rude staff. It looked inviting from the outside but was such a bad experience--not even worth a re-try. You might go ahead and try it because youll discover there isnt much open in the morning in Saratoga...but theres a good chance youll regret it. Better to go on a fast until lunch or dinner when some great Saratoga places are open.

We wanted to take a winding road towards the sea and had our first stop of the day in Saratoga. The Big Basin Cafe does not disappoint, the sandwich and breakfast burrito were nicely done. They only need to work on there order service a bit as we had to wait for ages (or have been forgotten) for 30 min, for part of our order. We still would go back and hope they have a better timing next time.

I hate to rate a place over what could be an isolated incident, but service took forever on a busy Saturday morning. There was only one barista working (along with a cashier and some people making food in the back), and my coffee took over 25 minutes to prepare. All of the customers were clearly frustrated by the slow service. Next time Im in the area, Ill go to the Starbucks across the street.

The coffee is good and the vegan fruit pie slices and turnovers are to die for. The breakfast rush is a pain, so I recommend avoiding it! In the evening the place is very laid back. I cant say its a perfect place for vegetarians because it does occasionally stink of bacon, but I usually enjoy going there and Ill miss it when I move away...

Saratoga小镇中心非常小,但蛮温馨的。镇上的Big Basin 咖啡馆里卖的黑加仑冰淇淋好吃的不得了,份量也实惠,一个球和别地儿两个球一样大。[强]

Coffee was good and its a nice relaxing place on the inside. Service was friendly but the food was mostly average. Had the empanadas and they were dry and crumbly on the inside and dough was too soft from being reheated. Also had a breakfast burrito which was good but the lousy salsa prevented it from being better.

It is the best place in bay area for fresh and yummy fruit pies. I have tried ALL of their pies.. and they are just excellent. I love camping here in evenings with my husband over a cup of coffee, a game of chess and gulp down some yummmy pies.. The lady at the counter is really nice and makes a classic latte!

Ive been going here for years and have tried a bulk of the stuff on their menu. I have never been disappointed with the service or the food/drinks. The cafe is dog friendly! Its a small, quaint place and the employees are very sweet. Overall, I would greatly recommend swinging by here sometime.

Excellent FRESH pastries and organic, locally sourced coffee. I never had an alfajore before and it was fantastic. My wife told me the best shes ever had. This place has a nice local feel and a rustic original ambiance with art featured by local artists. Ill be back here soon for sure.

Owners and staff are so nice and accommodating. They have the best pie in the world and their quiches and other food are fabulous. So pleasant to sit outside or by the window sipping coffee and having a piece of their pie. We went there everyday while we were staying at the Inn at Saratoga.

2014.05.31: Nice small town atmosphere, very cute and preppie. Doggie friendly patio. Food looked better than it tasted. Service was a little brusque, they seemed annoyed that I was asking questions about the food. Whipped cream is from a can, but the coffee is organic.

I come here every day. Does that say something? The staff is very warm. The coffee is very very good. The whole store has a family atmosphere makes one feel like home. The only problem is in the summer, there are too many flies. Fortunately, its not the whole year round.
