This is my go-to coffee stop in Ballard. If you are in a hurry there is a self-serve register for coffee and day-old pastries. You really cant go wrong with an 8oz coffee for just $1! Their staff is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic about coffee. The styles and flavors of coffee beans routinely rotate. They serve house-made quiche which also changes on a regular basis and is, quite honestly, one of the best recipes Ive ever had. If you are looking for a large meal, this may not be the place for you. Royal Drummer seems to focus on quality rather than quantity. The atmosphere tends to be minimal white noise and chill music during the week. Many people use the space for work and studying. Thursday morning can get quite crowded as they offer a Childrens story time which is insanely popular.

It would a great coffee shop, with wide sunny windows, nice coffee and edible products,... if they would not blast their ridiculous loudspeakers at the customers as if we were the Viet-Kong in Apocalypse Now. And they have kids come in! What sensible mother subjects her infant to such violent noise? I really struggle with this coffee shop. Whats wrong with a little more subdued music? Is it a job requirement for those who apply to have a passion for heavy metal? Coffee and heavy metal? Not a good combination.

Really great place to get both great coffee and food. One major addiction is the Ginger Tumeric Latte, might sound odd but it is spot on! Scones are tasty (more traditional biscuit scone than cake-like scones), really solid breakfast sandwiches. So far for lunch weve had the tuna salad, also fantastic. Treat yourself to some pie whole you are at it, highly recommend the insane coconut cream pie, easily the best version Ive had from coast to coast. Love this place!

Great spot! Quick and easy if you need something on-the-go and a great set up if your want to stay, sit, and enjoy (or even work for a few hours). Varied menu from breakfast sandwiches, pastries, yogurt and oatmeal options for breakfast as well as sandwiches and salads for lunch. Coffee options are plentiful and vary often (lots to try!). They also have a corner spot of the restaurant with a small number of games and books to keep little ones occupied.

$20 for a sandwich and a coke that were terrible. Server was nice but not experience was not recoverable. Ordered a BLT and it was dry with tough, stale bacon. Had to pay extra for half half sides (salad and chips). Salad was just lettuce leaves with not even a tomato in sight and no dressing until I asked. This is not to mention that as its self serve I had already tipped prior to even getting my food. Coffee may be ok but would not go again.

Great coffee, sub-par food (especially for the price). It has a nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, and serves alcohol. Had a breakfast sandwich, bacon was burnt and otherwise wasnt anything special. Wouldnt order one again. Also had a chocolate croissant, tasted like it was a day old. If all I wanted was coffee, this is the spot. If I wanted pastries, Id walk a few blocks down to Cafe Besalu.

Awesome cafe, one of my new favorites! Excellent coffee! And for those on the go, they have an tablet set up with Square for an honor drip coffee bar for those in a hurry. They have an awesome menu (dont miss the avocado toast or breakfast sandwiches) and lots of events. Good ambiance to sit with a friend or get some work done.

This little gem of a cafe is worth trying to find parking for. They have the best coffee! They have WiFi so you can study here. They have some great food too. And after a few hours of hitting the books you can try one if their beers on tap or even a glass of wine. Everything youll ever need under one roof. I may never leave!!

My favorite coffee spot hands down. I love to sit and do work here since they have many table to offer and rarely do you get stuck sitting next to someone, so awesome. The staff is very knowledgable of coffee and make it expertly. The coffee combined with their amazing food makes this is a must go to for all coffee lovers.

Cool space with very friendly staff. Lots of seating room for individuals and groups. Lots of interesting menu items in addition to the standard fare. As an iced coffee connoisseur their flash brewed single origin coffee is delicious. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich with arugula and an iced americano.

First the coffee is great and they source some different beans all the time. Also a great spot to sit and work throughout the day. The food is good and they have a variety of baked goods and real meals. Plus theres beer on tap and a few wines to have. Happy hour is 4-7pm and 25% off everything!

Items are over-priced, staff is lazy. $4 for a mcmuffin, $6 for a small piece of toast with avocado. No napkins, straws, or lids brought out with our drinks, coffee was burnt and order was messed up. Terrible first impression for our first time coming here and we will not be back.

When I went here they were doing this flight of IPAs that were absolutely amazing. They had a food pairing with it as well that complimented the IPAs expertly. Im not much of a coffee drinker but Ive had enough to know good coffee and RD is serving the best right now.

Great tasting food, amazing, yummy coffee. Couches and chairs, high top tables and stools. Trendy but still comfortable. Wine, beer, coffee, salads, soup, everything one stop. And always hosting events: game nights and bonus for me children library times :)

I love this spot. The coffee is consistently excellent—Royal Drummer is a well-curated multi-roaster cafe—and the feel is very neighborhoody and comfortable. Great food and beer menu, too!

Best coffee spot in Ballard. Flat out. Great staff. Excellent coffee. But beyond that, they serve some great food. Glad to have something so great in the north end of the neighborhood.

Lovely new coffee shop on 65th in Ballard. Coffee tastes great and they have plenty of drink options. Some food stuff, too. Story time for kids and a place for them to play.

Great little coffee shop. Has WiFi, and serves breakfast all day. Coffee refills are self-service for just a dollar at their little Square terminal.

Quite good coffee and friendly staff. Good warm atmosphere. It can get a little noisy when the place is busy - due to a lot of hard surfaces...
