We have been fans and ardent customers of The Fish Market for many, many years. My husband dreams about the New England Clam Chowder and the cheezy garlic bread. I love the mango and shrimp salad. The wine selection is excellent. But the service and care given by one and all of the staff members is better than a decadent dessert. Last night solidified your place in our esteem, which was already sky high. We arrived for dinner about 7 pm and had just discovered that the left rear tire on our 1956 car looked low. During dinner, my husband checked and found that this tire was now FLAT! Neither of us, being in our 70s, had a cell phone with us. Of course, we have them but feel free when not carrying one - young people will find this very difficult to understand. Dan and Nicole (the awesome young lady at the reception desk) tried several times to get "outside" on the Fish Market land line, but to no avail. Finally Nicole just handed Dan her cell and he proceeded to contact AAA to have our situation handled. Turns out it was a very busy night for AAA (a Sunday? but yes!). He spent about 45 minutes getting service arranged and Nicole never looked impatient or put out about having her phone thus tied up. We waited another 45 minutes for the tow truck. During that time, Ashley, Valerie and Jordan kept asking if we were ok, did we need a drink, etc. We felt very well cared for - as well a pleasantly full from our delicious meal. Thank you, Nicole, Ashley, Valerie and Jordan AND everyone else at Fish Market. We are customers and fans for life! Smiles, Carol Godsave Olmstead

I wasnt impressed by the food. I went there expecting this killer clam chowder. It was ok once I added a little pepper bit nothing I would crave. The crab cakes were dry. I ordered fish and chips and it tasted like a gordon fish stick. I sat at the bar and the young lady who took my drink order was not the friendliest at least not to me. She seemed to be chummy with everyone else at the bar but kind of gave me the cold shoulder. The Peach Sangria she mixed me great. Now the other guy at the bar Jordan was very attentuve especially considering I was the only person dining alone. He even noticed I wasnt happy with my food and offered to comp my entree. I fought him and he still took it to his manager who said no. I really had no problem paying. But here is where the whole experience really could have turned around. Even if you dont comp a customers meal at least come out and acknowledge their concerns. I been to Chilis, Applebees and Olive Garden in the last couple of weeks and on each occassion the manager just walked out to see how everything was. I wont be going back

April 29, 2014 @ 9:18pm. We were at Fish Market on Blossom Hill Rd have dinner and had the best food server in in that one location and also made our day for our first time. Many time we been around eating out to restaurant and places never had that treatment before with greatest personality and good service like this guy name Mike ( server ) . He is tall young looking white guy he is the best! I say he shall be blessed from God what he is doing and who he is . He deserve the best position there at his work from all this service and work he put into for customer and also we saw how he treated other customers while we were having our dinner, he gave so much respect and sweet service. This is an updated review based on a recent past dinning experience: The Manager needs to take some restaurant and or hospitality classes and learn how to treat her customers and given situations properly. We had an issue with some other patrons who were letting their 4 children run around screaming and jumping all over during our entire meal. The Manager wanted no part of trying to handle the situation properly. Forcing our party to take matters into our own hands. This did not go over well, however neither did it for us having to pay for a dinner we were unable to enjoy. They were not diplomatic at all given the circumstances and didnt even want to understand or even listen to our opinion on things, before attacking. Bad business, in my opinion. Then on our very next visit, the Manager made a repeat performance!! So I hope the owners are reading these reviews, and take it to heart and hire some more professional staff.

Ordered a $33.00 piece of halibut which is one of their top plates and i get about 2 ounces of meat, the potatoes were cold, halibut warm (when it should have been hot (grilled duh)), did not come with hot grilled vegetables, then the server comes with the grilled vegetables after i am done eating. Never filled my cup when it was empty. Totally poor service and cooks are NOT attention to detail. The Scary thing is that they were only 25% busy!!! What a joke. I will never come back to this place!!!! Ruined my night. I came hungry. Only ending up going to mcdonalds for a fish burger. Try SCOMAS IN SF. Warf. Same price points but way, & much better service plus better and reasonable portions. I am not a large portion kinda diner, but this place is a major JOKE!!! No I do not work for Scomas, just not happy as you can tell. The last time i will ever eat here!!!!!

Good service and tasty food. They have kids meals and a bar area. There is also a seafood counter where you can purchase fish and crab to take home and cook yourself. Today I had the combo skewer and it was delicious. It comes with Fish, shrimp, scallops, onions and tomatoes. This place has a bar and you can order food there too while you watch sports or news on TV. You may also buy raw fish and take it home for cooking. The atmosphere is casual, seating is comfortable and the decor has stuffed fish and historical pictures of fishermen. It is right across the parking lot from Black Angus and it is a good alternative to that restaurant when you dont feel like waiting over there. Kids are welcome here and they have kids meals. Plus the kids can look through the glass and see the food cooking or go see the live lobsters or the refrigerated case of seafood.

Possibly best, and freshest oysters in San Jose. Not being a coastal city, oysters have to be brought in regularly wherever u buy them in San Jose. In the case of this restaurant, being that seafood is its specialty, they are brought in daily, hence the freshness. They also carry a variety of oysters. Fish is awesome, and it has a full bar. Best clam chowder in the area as well. I do try clam chowder wherever I can, so hopefully I know what I like, and this is it. Beautiful decor, nice waiters, not too expensive, and they have fresh oysters and a full bar. Wait, did I say that already? But they do have oysters and a full bar. As full a bar as to please any vodka, tequila, beer, gin connoisseurs/snobs. You want to impress people you love? Bring them here.
