The staff of the Wharf House is rude, insensitive, and exhibits downright DEPLORABLE BEHAVIOR and lack of wisdom towards is customers..that is our experience. We recommend that all visiting Capitola avoid the Wharf House and take their business elsewhere. Our son was married near Capitola this past weekend and suggested to friends and family to stroll to the end of the wharf for a casual breakfast at one of our familys favorite restaurants. As The Wharf House does not take reservations, we Parents and Grandparents of the Groom were seated near the newlyweds table. The bride and groom had arrived earlier and were seated at a table of 8 with many of their friends. Two of the friends needed to catch a plane and departed. Minutes later, the PARENTS OF THE BRIDE arrived and were NOT PERMITTED take the two vacated seats and therefore were forbidden from joining the table. The waitress (day manager??) proclaimed that it was policy and that the table would need to be available for the next party of 8, even though there were wedding party members STILL EATING (the Best Man had just been served, and the bride had just ordered a mimosa). A conversation ensued restating that the couple had been married the evening before, this was their first breakfast together, and that the Parents of the Bride wished to sit in the empty seats with the couple at their table. When again the parents were denied seating, the Best Man ordered a box for his breakfast to go, and we parents and grandparents likewise ordered boxes for our partially eaten breakfast to go. To top this, the Groom was then handed the bill with a 20% SERVICE charge included on top! This was unbelievably insensitive and uncaring to the Newlyweds as well as atrocious business sense as the 30-40 others that were to be headed down to the Wharf House restaurant eventually joined us all at Zeldas Restaurant, who was gracious and extremely accommodating (and made a boatload of $$ in food, bar and in tips after this unforgettable incident.) As we have frequented the Wharf House throughout the years, and introduced the Groom to this establishment as a boy, what happened to us at breakfast was an embarrassment to our family. We were both flabbergasted and bitterly disappointed that this was the first breakfast as husband and wife for our son, his bride, their friends and our new extended family.. If the waitress/manager had been part of the wedding party OR the Mother of the Bride or the Groom, what would she have thought? How would she have reacted? I believe that she would have been utterly appalled and beyond disappointed by the experience, and like all of us and our friends, will never return to the Wharf House.

We had a terrible experience here last night. My brother and his family were visiting from Texas. The seven of us were rudely told off by this woman who seemed to be in charge. We could not even sit at the bar! My wife was very embarrassed and offended by her rudeness. How can the Wharf Restaurant stay in business when they treat customers like that? We went to the Paradise Restaurant, had a great dinner and were treated so nice. Luckily the evening turned out great. Beware of the Wharf Restaurant. Strange behavior.

Tried the clam chowder, it was complete garbage with no taste whatsoever. My girlfriend even found a piece of wax paper in her clam chowder. ( I guess from the powder mix.. Who knows...) Its a shame since they place is beautifully located. I guess after trying the clam chowder in Monterey it raised my expectations. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Its the best place to chill out, get some drinks, brunch, dance, have fun enjoying the good view of the sea. Every weekend in the summer, they open its panoramic view top deck at 12:30pm for seating. Service for drinks, dining and music is from 1P.M. - 5:30 P.M.

Dont go here expecting to eat anything tasty. I did not have any drinks so I cant say anything about that. They do have live music and the location is great. Im sure if you come here with a group of friends youll still end up enjoying it.

Disappointing food, terrific location for a drink. Go there at dawn, dolphins and hunting pelicans will pose for your pictures, so you can show off on Instagram. Anything else in the area is an overpriced touristic trap, so, go for it.

We enjoyed an excellent brunch at the Warf House today. Great Mimosas. Good food. Busy atmosphere. Excellent service. Friendly Staff all round, at the bar and in the restaurant. The view cannot be beaten.
