I wish I was hungrier for one of their pasta dishes! They looked so good, but I love burrata so I got their burrata salad instead. Its arugula, tomatoes, and a huge piece of burrata right in the middle! The burrata was light and went well with the bitterness of the arugula. It also came with pieces of flat bread. My friend got one of their sandwiches. He told me the meat he ordered was not the meat he got. But he liked it. This mom-and-pop shop focuses on the food. It has a diner atmosphere with awesome Italian pop songs in the background. The employees are really helpful and welcoming. I liked hearing them speak Italian (being the typical American girl that falls for any European accent). I wish I kept up with the language. Anyway, Im definitely coming back for the pasta next time!

Having just moved here from nyc, I was looking for some good Italian food in the city. I found Italian homemade on yelp and decided to try it out. The food was amazing, pasta was very fresh and portion sizes were large. I had the gnocchi bolognese which was delicious. I would want to try the ravioli next time as I had a bite and those were great as well. Only reason for not adding a 5th star is the ambiance, there wasnt much seating and could be more intimate. The prices were also a bit more expensive then expected for a casual eatery although worth it for the great food.

The Italian Homemade Company is as charming as it sounds. Its one of my favorite places in San Francisco due to its simplicity and focus on quality pasta. The Italian Homemade Companys pastas and sauces are housemade. They have a wide assortment of pastas. They even have pappardelle! Thats really all you need to know. I know Yelp is saying "Youre rolling now - got any more to add?" which means Im supposed to write more but in the spirit of this restaurant, I want to keep this review focused on the food and keep it as simple just like The Italian Homemade Company.

I know well about Italian cooking, being passionate about this and having been to Italia several times. I also cook Italian twice a day and bring my parmesan from Parma. This restaurant is probably the best Italian cantina in San Francisco. Pasta is clearly homemade, as well as the tomato sauce. The olive oil is the top-of-range. We tried 5 meals for 4, not only the products are great, but the balance between the ingredients, the choices for flavour associations, all of that is well executed. Cheap, cantina atmosphere, friendly chefs.

I got pretty excited about the food here as soon as I walked through the door and heard both employees and customers speaking Italian. This place has limited seating and they churn out a lot of food fast which means you dont have to wait long and its fresh. I love the fact that you get a lot of food for not a lot of money. I got the meat ravioli with a creamy meaty sauce and it was great. I wanted to order the Tiramisu but they ran out right as I was about to order it. The ones I saw come out looked awesome, though.

At first glance this place seems like it could be a great local mom and pop place to go in North Beach for freshly made pastas, sauces, and Italian goods. It probably is but after my experience here I dont think there will be a second chance. We got their pasta which was good and the salad we got is unacceptable. Arugula was brown, yellow, and wilting. If they were out of arugula then they should not be selling it. Overpriced and overrated. Plenty of other North Beach institutions to spend your money on.

Piccolissimo ristorante italiano in cui fanno solo primi (deliziosi i ravioli ricotta e spinaci), panini e pizze. Alta qualità, velocità di servizio ,gentilezza e prezzi modici. Dispone di 2 tavoli allaperto lungo Columbus avenue. Ci tornerò

In reality Id give The Italian Homemade a 4.5. I got a simple plate of pappardelle with marinara sauce and it was excellent. The pasta is homemade, cooked just to al dente and comes out piping hot. The sauce was just garlic-y enough and had fresh basil shredded on top. Hey even ask if youd like grated cheese on top of your dish which theyll add before they bring it to your seat. Casual dining. And on packed nights you want to grab a table as soon as you can! Yummm!!

Very small and popular place. It was not only small, but pretty crowded with a reasonably long line. We wanted meatballs with spaghetti but they didnt have any on hand and told us it would be at least 45 minutes before they made some more. So, sadly, we left. So this review is based on the ambiance and overall appearance of the place, as well as service. Ill have to come back here to try the food and then Ill update my review. The food definitely looked good though.

We discovered this place because of Google last month, and are glad we did! The staff was very helpful and patient with the four of us as we asked many questions and had a hard time deciding. I ordered the special, and it was amazing! (What I got to eat as my man kept picking off my plate, and ate all his) It took awhile to get the food, but it was busy, and the meals come out as they are ready. We will hope to return again when we are in the area next time.

This place has the best italian food ive ever had in the US. Almost everything really is made in-house, and it shows. Great flavor without being too heavy. I especially like the lasagna. Be warned, it isnt really a restaurant -- more like a deli with tiny tables. Still worth a trip, but if you live close by taking it to go probably makes more sense. Highly recommended. But be prepared to hunt for parking if you come late. North Beach is a pain to park in.

OMG! Its been too long. I just made it to The Italian Homemade Company after months of being away. Their food and espresso is so good. I dont know how the neighboring restaurants stay in business. I guess they had better hope The Italian Homemade Company dont learn how to cook Thai food. If you have never been or havent been in San Francisco, do yourself a favor and get to I The Italian Homemade Company. I think they totally redid the interior also.

Pasta fatta in casa al momento, gusti ottimi... pur non essendo in patria! personale gentilissimo. E prezzi modici..con 15$ ca. a cranio! Nel complesso sono felicissimo di aver scovato questo pezzo di casa! Continuate così..

Updated: same high prices, but smaller portions. Thus, 2 stars now. Tried the meat lasagna, sandwich (flat bread) with prosciutto and tiramisu. The place uses fresh ingredients and makes everything in house. I dont know this for sure but it seems like it. Big portions...see photos. If I want to have some casual Italian food, I come here. Buy it and take home because I dont like eating from paper plates at restaurant.

Havent had good Italian food around North Beach for sometime. A friend pick me up and we wanted to eat before doing some drinks. Fantastic down to earth service with workers non-stop cooking it up. Prices are high, but the food is exceptional value compared to others around. They even have take home and cook it yourself pasta ready to go in freezer section. Parking in area is difficult unless you arrive before noon.
