The food was great. The service was terrible. I came in for dinner at 8PM on a Friday night. There was not host at the front door. So while I waited for my friend to show up I just decided to take a seat at the bar to grab a drink first. I gave the bartender a $20 and my drink which was only $7. I was in a forgiving mood and just asked him to give me $10 back. After getting my drink he didnt hand me back my cash yet and I had to remind him I gave him a $20. When my friend walked in the door there still wasnt a host at the front door and we just asked the bartender if we could just grab a table and he just said grab whatever table was open. Still, no cash back from the bartender. When we sat down a waitress noticed us and handed us our menus and I had to remind her that I didnt get my change back from the bartender. The bartender finally came over and handed me my $10 and apologized because "it was his Monday." Moving on... We ordered their steak, pheasant and arugula salad. I will say all of the food was absolutely delicious, especially the pheasant. It was perfectly seasoned and tender. Now back to the service, it just seemed like the wait-staff didnt really know how to approach tables when refilling water. It was a little obtrusive when arms and wrists reaching around our faces. I did like the fact that they didnt bother us while in the middle of conversation though, so thats a plus. So, in all the food was fantastic but service not so much. I was just surprised because the restaurant is super sexy and nice inside, you would think you would get more out of your experience judging by the atmosphere alone.

List was fantastic! The service was speedy and very friendly even though the vibe upon entry would suggest an air of pomposity. When a large party devoured all of the desserts in the restaurant, our busser graciously referred us to a competing restaurant down the street for dessert and cocktails. On recommendation, we ordered the gnocchi with black truffle cream, spicy meatballs, and the grilled Chelean Sea Bass. Our cocktails of Italian lemondrop and Bacardi Mojito arrived almost instantly along with complementary french bread and a splendid olive oil that was infused with oregano, rosemary, or similar herb. Almost within minutes of ordering, the gnocchi with black truffle cream arrived. The tapas style arrangement makes the dishes extremely easy to share. My wife and I quickly divvied up the plate and were treated to an amazing taste bud frenzy. The gnocchi is absolutely as good as reviewed by others. The spicy meatballs were huge, fluffy, and spicy as hell! A nice alternative to the limp, lifeless, and greasy balls other restaurants serve. The only miss was the Chilean Sea Bass. The risotto was low on flavor and the bass had charred skin around the exterior that had a similar texture to a burnt marshmallow. It was alright, but a bit disappointing. The dinner was a little too rushed at only forty minutes. Great efficiency, but slightly too quick to make for a full evening. I would definitely go back though.

We ended up visiting this spot as it seemed like a good spot to eat, I ordered a juice but the waitress stated that I needed to show proof of age that I was over the age of 21. This was not an issue so I handed her my Dutch drivers license, she looked at it blankly and said what is this, I asked for an ID. I replied that yes this was a EU drivers license which I was advised was not good enough. I needed to provide a passport, US drivers license or military ID... there was several people in our group that didnt have our passports as how often do you take your passport out to dinner. The staff wouldnt budge on the issue, and advised me that I had to leave immediately because I couldnt prove I was over the age of 21. We ended up going another restaurant who had no issue that we only had drivers licenses to prove our proof of age. I felt humiliated at being asked to leave a restaurant when I had government issues identification and have never felt so much disrespect by a server. So if you dont have your passport and not a US citizen do not visit this venue!

I was really town between giving this place 4 or 5 stars, but decided to round up considering that their staff is absolutely fantastic. They truly made my night. I arrived at 9pm, by myself, since I had spotted them on yelp and I was traveling in Seattle for a business trip. I sat myself at the bar, made a joke about how awkward it is to dine alone, and suddenly had two new best friends - the bar tender and a waitress. They totally made my night. I ordered the black truffle gnocchi, the grilled caesar salad and the baked broccoli (which I proceeded to mix into my gnocchi) and was pleased with every dish. The most mind-blowing part was the fact that the entire dinner (plus a cocktail) cost $23. Where in the world can you have an enormous and nice meal for just $23? Certainly not in California where I live. I even had to double check with the bartender since I was confident it was an error. Their happy hour is an absolute steal. Highly recommend coming here.

There was a 30+ minute wait, but we were able to snag a couple seats at the bar. The lighting levels are too low, and I had to use my phone flashlight to read the menu. The calamari was good. Nothing special. The black truffle gnocchi was AMAZING. So creamy and flavorful. The goat cheese and pear salad was good. I like when goat cheese is fried, and this was not, but it was still good. The baked broccoli was really good. However... The SPICY MEATBALLS were INCREDIBLE! They definitely have some heat, so dont order them if you cant handle about a 4-Star Thai dish. They were also very flavorful. Just overall amazing. My wife is a great cook and just attempted to recreate them at home. She came close, but had to keep the heat out because of our young kids. Well keep trying. Until then, well definitely be back for more! Also got the Kraken Root Beer. Dangerously good!

I am not generally a fan of Italian cuisine, but restaurants like List could change my mind. The meal started off with the Grilled Caesar - a different (in a good way) start to the meal. The bacon-wrapped prawns were a delight, quickly followed by the Gnocchi and Meatballs. The Cannelloni was also delicious too. The only item which I would pass on would be the Eggplant Parmesan. While everything else was great, this dish was just good. The restaurant is small, so I only saw three people serving customers. They were busy, but still attentive to our needs. We waited probably about 30 minutes or so for a table. I didnt quite expect that on a Sunday, but perhaps that is due to the bonus below. Bonus: Sundays most of the menu falls under happy hour. My girlfriend and I had 6 plates for $35!?! Were going back.

This place is seriously good. Their smaller plate items and draft beers are half off during their happy hour, which runs from 4-6 pm and 9-close. I came for the latter of the two. The atmosphere was dim lit and intimate, and the space is somewhat small, but it wasnt too crowded when I went. I got the black truffle gnocchi, and it was incredible. Creamy, but not too heavy with a prominent truffle flavor. Easily one of the best gnocchi dishes Ive ever had. I also got the Chilean sea bass, which the restaurant specifies as sustainably caught on the menu for those who care. The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly so that the meat was extremely tender and flaky with a crunchy crust. It was also served over a delicious, moderately spicy risotto. I would love to try more of their small plates next time I visit.
