I have been going to Il Bistro for almost 30 years, and this tucked-away-in-Post Alley establishment continues to serve its clientele with grace and a delectable menu. It is possible that there have been the rare so-so meals over the decades, but I honestly dont remember them. Nick and Peter have found a combination that works: well chosen offerings, nice wines according to those I know who drink wines, and really sinful desserts. It is a sin you can walk off, though between courses, by going up and down Post Alley a few times. Plus, I am not currently partnered, but for those of you who are, the warm, dim ambience at Il Bistro positively beckons sweet nothings and toasts to future happiness. And, if you want something special in the way of service, celebration, or Colin Farrell jumping out of an enormous cake, they will try to arrange it. Well, maybe not Colin Farrell. Call for reservations or drop by and take your chances. It will be more than worth it.

I would have to say I was quite impressed with the level of service, the manager was very welcoming and so was the bar staff and shout to Terrell. It was great as it was nice and genuine which was welcome considering its right next to pike market place and could have easily become a tourist trap. I had the gnocchi with a sweet tomato sauce and cream and it was lovely and was rather fast which was great as I was super hungry. The atmosphere was quite nice and if you are eating alone I suggest grabbing a stool at the bar and relaxing with a cold beer, if you are feeling special they have a great range of cocktails and enough scotch and whisky to make anyone happy....

We stopped in around 10:00pm for dessert and a cocktail. The service in the bar area was average. There was not much recommendation from the server about the dessert menu and there were no pictures to aid in our selection. We went with the Torta Gianduia which is a flourless chocolate-hazelnut torte with raspberry sauce and sweet mascarpone. Upon its arrival at our table there were two slices of torte with a small amount of the sauce drizzled over. The cake seemed a bit dried out and the sauce flavor was underwhelming. The ambiance is great and the location is unbeatable, however the torta comes up shorta.

Food: Seafood and noodles - lots of shellfish, pretty good 2 shrimp A good serving of mussels and clams A few small pieces of salmon, barely realized it was there. They were tasty though A few rings of calamari and a couple little leggy pieces too Meat and Cheese Appetizer platter - very good: - 3 pieces Smoked mozzarella - 6ish pieces each of salami, prosciutto? And beef? Last one not too flavorful - Red and green olives, not too strong so good for me - Marinated mushrooms - Roasted peppers and onions - Roasted garlic very soft and a little sweet Lasagna - pretty good Nice ambiance and service.

We stopped in for drinks before a show and I was a typical girl when the bartender asked me what I wanted--I had no clue. So Rick played 20 questions with me to figure it out and came up with exactly what I wanted! Who knew? Try a Corpse Reviver, thats a good one! e also made a bang-up Jack and Coke for my man. If you see Rick, tell him hi from a couple whos night he made! Definitely worth stopping in! have fun!

I had a waiter who refused to split our bill when we asked him before ordering. He blamed it on the building being old. So I put a party of 8 on my card. Then he hand-calculated himself a tip that was almost $5 over the 18% gratuity. I reached out to management with a copy of my receipt, and they never responded. The atmosphere is pretentious and they are a dishonest establishment.

Located in Pike Place Market, this is a fun experience for traditional Italian fare. The lighting inside is dim and the traditional wood paneling make this a romantic setting for date night or dinner with friends. During the summer, the tables outside allow you to overlook the market while you dine. I recommend trying the calamari, caprese salad and risotto.

We arrived at Il Bistro for dinner and our table was not quite ready so we enjoyed a glass of wine in the bar area and the owner/manager graciously brought us a free appetizer while we waited. Once seated the service was impeccable and dinner was delicious and filling. We would certainly return to Il Bistro and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Il Bistro is one of the classic Italian joints in Seattle. Honestly, its not the best, but they its never really a bad choice. Service is decent and they have a good wine selection. I like getting the rigatoni. Their ragu is cooked for a long time and full of flavor. End your meal with tasty terra cotta and wash it all down with an excellent wine.

My girlfriend and I traveled to Seattle and decided to eat here on a whim. Managed to reserve a table on a Friday night. Seated quickly and in a private area. Service was not too pushy and quick and concise which made me happy, not my girlfriend as much. The food was top notch Italian food. The gnocchi was great, wish I tried the Calamari.

What a beautiful place in a great location! We were there for a charity event that featured samples of food from 20 different restaurants in the area. This establishment was my favorite. Great staff and food, a huge grappa selection and they even had two different limoncello options. I cant wait to go back.

I ate here two nights before finding Tulios Ristorante. I had pasta and beans in a very interesting bitter kind of sauce that I liked, but I would have rather spent the money at Tulios. My girlfriend seemed to enjoy the salmon she had. I recommend Tulios first, then Il Bistro if you are looking for variety.

Great service coupled with perfect dishes. Our waiter suggested ideal appetizers for our party of eight. Home run on all entrees. My roasted chicken on a bed of risotto was superb. The tiramisu was light, layered well and one of the best weve had. Make it a place for dinner on your next trip to Seattle.

Worst "nice" restaurant experience. They refused to split the check, which there is no excuse for in 2017. Nice menu and food was very good, but absurdly small portions. Service was cold. The man at the front who took my jacket was very nice, however.

Favorite intimate dinner location for my wife and I. Service has always been above and beyond. Wine list is very nice. The bartenders are friendly and know how to make a perfect Tanqueray martini. The food is fabulous. Highly recommend. 5 out of 5.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and outstanding service! We felt very appreciated despite not ordering all the extras and not being dressed to the nines. They were all extremely polite, accommodating, and attentive. What a great experience!

Hands down the best happy hour in Seattle for delicious Italian food. Seat yourself in the bar and be prepared for generous portions at $5 a plate or less. I strongly recommend trying the rigatoni bolognese and goat cheese ravioli.
