When I tried to go to this restaurant a little while ago with a group of friends we were very excited because we heard it had excellent food. However, when we got there another group was waiting and had been for 20 minutes. Despite the restaurant being almost empty no one was allowed to sit at a table but expected to stand waiting. When a third group arrived they were expected to stand outside in the rain. After talking to all the groups we wouldnt have minded waiting if they would let us sit at one of the empty tables. Instead we were told it would be at least 20 minutes before we could sit because they were "understaffed that night". When an old man in the third group tried to sit, the server told him to go back outside and wait. In the end our group and the third group left before ever getting seated and none of us will ever try to go back.

I love the place. The place has now become a memorable place for me (well I did spend my 18th birthday there). The food was perfect, actually that is an understatement, it was extraordinary, marvelous out of this world. The portions are bigger than what you get from other restaurants. The waiter was efficient and super friendly and comfortable to talk with. I had a group of 8 for my birthday and our food was well cooked in less than 20 mins. I highly recommend this place especially for dates, family dinners or celebrating special occasions. If you have time, go to the place. I advise that you reserve ahead of time in case the place gets filled up.

This restaurant touches my Sicilian heart. Marcello (the chef and owner) lends a passionate, authentic hand to each dish and the result is subtle, remarkable, and delicious! Fresh pastas and classic protein dishes abound. The specials are particularly amazing and you should always consider them. The environment is small and cozy. It has the feel of an old-school New York joint that has been there for decades. You might forget where you are once you get comfortably immersed in the mid-century Italian-American charm of the place.

The wait as described by many people is real. I came here early evening with only 4-5 people already in the restaurant and the host didnt acknowledge my entrance, and only seated me after waiting for a few minutes. From entering, it took about 25 minutes for my order to be taken and food to reach my table. The ambience is quite nice and romantic though, they have live music with them taking requests, gnocchi I ordered looks and tastes appetizing, if a little bland and too creamy for my palate though.

Incredible authentic italian food in a city where you can get a lot of wannabe italian food, the real deal like they serve here is very rare and worth the trip! Marcello is a superb cook and owner that picks up where Mama Melina left off beautifully. The wine selection and pairing were incredible. I had the vitello parmisiana with the house montepulciano and it was exquisite.

Took around 10 minutes to seat us, a table of two. Despite the restaurant being fairly empty and plenty of staff. Our service was really slow and it seemed like the staff wasnt giving us decent service at all. The food was fairly bland and not worth the price. I would not recommend.

Been there twice in the last couple of months and this is a consistently excellent restaurant. Good wine offering at good prices, classic Italian dishes, fresh ingredients, good service. Nutella cheesecake is an interesting and tasty offering.

The best Italian Ive eaten so far in WA. Truffle Pasta was delicious!! Octopus Salad = AWESOME. In our 9 person table only the Lasagna was disappointing.....not enough flavor. Scallops and Branzino were amazing. Will definitely come back.

Amazing food. We just got back from Venice and were disappointed with the food there because nothing could even compare to Ristorante Dorias. Great friendly service as well. Nicest restaurant in the U District.

Made it out here during Snowmageddon - great atmosphere with a live piano player that took requests. Happy hour wine and appetizer specials. The eggplant carpaccio type thing was amazing
