In preface, I point out that while this is an okay bar with a decent beverage list, it is ADVERTISED as a cigar bar, and therefore I review it on that basis. First, beware, there is NO humidor and you will have no more than 7 - 10 cigars to choose from. Most of them are unremarkable and overpriced. I smoked an Aurora 1495 Series for $23 (worth $8). The humidor is a glass candy case at the front of the bar... and dont light the cigar inside, they owner was too lazy to get an cigar club smoking permit. So, you smoke outside on the heated patio. Too bad the heated patio is loaded with kids who smoke cigarettes and NOT cigars, so you will not get a seat and will instead sit in the cold with your stogie for an hour. Given, the music inside is fun, the scotch selection is good and the bartenders are nice enough, that does not make up for the fact that I paid $5 cover for a cigar bar that is really a bar with room for people to smoke cigars outside. Words to the owner: I suggest you change your bar name to something less misleading.

I went here for my wifes reunion. We were there early when it wasnt crowded, and then the staff were really friendly. However, 3 hours later (9pm on a Saturday) when the place was packed, it was impossible to order drinks from the bar or get more food. I first resorted to stealing some quesadillas from another partys platter. (they didnt seem to be eating it) Later I gave up trying to order and left to go somewhere else. The food was OK but uninspired. The fish tacos were interesting, as they had cutup apple bits in them. The quesadillas were... quesadillas. Nothing special. I was also disappointed that for such a big bar they only had three beers on tap, and they were all pale for some reason. They did have ~10 specialty beers in bottles.

Cigar Bar has the atmosphere of a classy speakeasy, and does it without trying too hard. Its got a wide selection of drinks and a great layout that features a large internal courtyard with open air seating, an inconspicuous pool table in one of the back rooms, and in many cases live music. If you like cigars, this is one of the few bars in the city you can smoke, due to the outdoor courtyard. For those who arent into stogies or their smell there are plenty of areas that are smoke and odor free. Its next door to the financial district so you definitely see the happy hour crowd here in force, with the energy subsiding somewhat as the night goes on and people filter out to other parts of the city.

The Happy Hour crowd is more of the Financial District crowd drinking and smoking on cigars, its a more calm atmosphere although it can get crowded. They have happy hour drinks and small plates that were pretty good. The menu is "classier" than your average HH food (such as pate and caviar), but its not too pricey. On Saturday night, it felt more like a Latin hideaway were people come and dance to a live Latin band and have dinner. Oh to smoke cigars of course. Much more lively, but really aimed towards people who enjoy the dancing. What makes this place standout is the outdoor courtyard in the middle where people can enjoy their Cohibas in the establishment. Very nice on a warm day/night.

Really like this place! One of the bartenders, Brandon, is a former classmate of mine @ SFSU, and he was always telling me to stop by, and finally I did with some friends a couple of weeks back!! Its a nice place, very spacious, gorgeous patio area. They have Salsa on Wed or Thur (forgot which day, but it was one of those!) Brandon really took care of us and even gave us an order of food that another party had canceled! Salsa band was okay, dance floor was small, but it was okay because there were very few people who actually ventured out to dance that evening. Crowd was very nice and friendly. Will be returning (maybe not again for salsa night, though!).

The vibe is nice - the arched ceilings, lowish light, doors opening out to the patio, candlelit tables. I went on a Wednesday, and there were plenty of tables available throughout dinner. The live music started around 8 and was enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food was very meh - both the quesadilla platter to share and my boyfriends burger - though the menu has a decent amount of options. My cocktail, the Pisco Paradise, was good. However, there was an error on their beer menu so my boyfriend ended up with a beer he didnt mean to order. Overall, fine place but dont feel strongly about going back.

Gotta love this place!!!! Perfect spot to grab a nice glass of whiskey with some co-workers after a long day. Plus they have a solid selection of cigars which is always a plus if you smoke. As for how nice the cigars are, I am unsure. I also love how they have an "outside" area, which is difficult to find in the city. Most pubs and bars are quite dark so it is a huge plus to have a ton of light. Plus, its not like they are going to let you hotbox the inside bar area. I would safely say that I go here at least once every other week and will continue to keep going!

Still sitting here and felt compelled to rate. Get here early, before 6 if you want a table outside. Tables come up but send they reserved them? No problem there. Menu prices were good, nothing to expensive and decent food. I didnt like the salsa but thats my preference, not a knock on the salsa itself. Happy hour beer prices are good. Cigars outside of awesome. Great atmosphere. My only knock is the service. Can I get a beer around here! The busboy gave me faster service. Literally! Dont let that deter you. It was solely my server. The rest were great.

Never ate here but the drinks are good and strong. Not super expensive considering the location. My fav. thing about this place is that they do Salsa dancing classes on Saturday. Its fun and interactive and the class is an hour with a live band coming on after. Great way to meet people and have a drink or two. The open patio section is wonderful for those who are indulging in smoking cigars and inside seating, you dont smell it as much. fun atmosphere. Kinda hidden because you have to walk down towards the patio door.

Went here w/ a group of 10 and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Host & waitress were friendly and attentive. Anytime you can find a stoogie bar w/ cool peeps is always a plus. If youre into stoogs and want a place to hang w/ cool folk, give this place a try. Even if youre the type who cant stand the smell of cigar smoke, still give this place a chance. Ventilation is pretty good and its very airy. I think once you give this place a chance, youll be lighting us soon. Long live your nub!
