Friendly sushi chefs and wait staff. Great happy hour that starts at 11am weekdays. Large selection of fresh fish. Pretty decent rolls. One test of the quality of a place is what they give you when you order a spicy scallop nigiri. At some places they use prepackaged stuff that is not fresh. Here they only use that for rolls, which is sort of okay. For the spicy scallop nigiri they chop up fresh scallop and mix it with a spicy mayonnaise-y sauce, which is a good sign. I have two complaints. One is that the sushi chefs, including the head chef, although they know a lot about fish, they dont know a lot about Japanese food otherwise. I asked if they could get Goma Ae on the menu, and they had never heard of it. I wondered if I was pronouncing it wrong so I described it. Never heard of it. My other complaint is that they outright dismiss the problem of many fish having an endangered status, such as they blue fin tuna they regularly serve. I think they get their knowledge about these issues from Fox News. My solutions is just not to order the blue fin tuna and let it slide, but if this bothers you you might want to avoid them.

This is a nice friendly environment. The food is great and there crispy calamari is just perfect not too hard or battery just chewy, and easy to eat also the sauce that comes with it is just splendid!! Goes well together. The sushi is also great!! I had told the chief that I wanted a hot sushi but with no snow crab and he had made me the most spot on roll that I had wanted!! I was craving for something nice and spicy and there it was veg,spicy and a great size to put in my mouth !!! #yummy!! #wantsomemore!!

The sushi was very high quality. What was most impressive was the tempura shrimp inside the sushi roll which was cooked perfectly. I dont usually see such good tempura shrimp inside the roll. The Black Tonkatsu Ramen was also good with some ample chili oil added it was delicious. They have a great soft boiled egg. I should have asked for another egg......

Wow! Ordered take out, and this place has great prices. I got two hand rolls, and a land park roll to share with my one year old. $15. Definitely recommend the spicy tuna temaki, and the land park roll. Wish I couldve tried more, but it was the perfect amount for one person.

Kyoto always has very friendly service. Ive enjoyed the food everyone time and Id recommend the veggie tempura. They also a rather great selection of food and alcohol. Kyoto is my favorite ramen spot in Sacramento, reminds me of the ramen I had in Japan.

Happy hour is awesome the amount of food you can get is crazy. Everything was fresh and tasted soo good. I 100% plan on going back. The staff was very nice there, the menu is really big and they were very nice about waiting.

Great food at a good price. The fish is fresh. The rolls are great combinations. The bento box food is also delicious. Their prices during regular hours are good. Happy hour from 11am to 5pm, their prices are amazing.

Kyoto is my secret weapon against hard days. The happy hour deals are unbelievable and the house special ramen is my daily craving. The staff are super friendly and attentive. Great place for a date too.

This sushi place is REALLY good. Its pretty cheap but they dont serve low quality. Im obsessed with this place. The venue is not 5 starts but simple never means bad. I would absolutely recommend it!
