The service was awful. Our waiter was dismissive, rude, and inattentive. It took 25 minutes to get our drinks and it only went downhill from there. I had to ask several waiters for basic service. We planned to have dessert, but it took so long to get even a menu that we decided to skip it. When I made a comment about the service, the waiter said, "we are slow because we dont have the staff" and then walked off. We then asked for a manger; it took 15+ minutes for one to come over. She comped our meal and apologized. Ive eaten here probably 8-10 times. Every one has been good, except this experience which was sub par at best. Unless convenience dictates, I will not return.

This place was great not too long ago. I used to go every week. But they took a gorgeous, elegant, and dimly lit bar and put two massive TVs on either side of the Parrish painting: The namesake of the bar. Before, you could have an interesting conversation with your fellow drinker. Now its just a row of zombies in the TV glow. The Pied Piper Bar has all the ambiance of a Buffalo Wild Wings now. The service at the bar was shabby, but the waitress serving the tables was friendly and attentive. These two stars are for her.

An outstanding bar in the Palace Hotel on busy Market Street. Come here at the wrong times and it will feel exactly busy and crazy inside as it is outside, but even on busy days, this place provides a nice respite from the milling crowds outside.

This pub was good but now the food is an example of why I dont like to go out. The menu is riddled with lactic and gluten. A true paLo disaster : you are better off at wfm. Same goes for the hotel.

Service was poor and average food. Not what I expected from the look of the establishment. Decent enough for being an easy option in the hotel but if you have more time Id recommend elsewhere.

go for the paintings on the walls. The back room has some amazing murals of San Franciscos historical characters. I like to get a glass of scotch & examine the many paintings and people.

A hotel bar with hotel prices and hotel options. Good for an expensive happy hour or late night drink with coworkers, but there is not much else to deem this place as special.

Great bar, great atmosphere, great staff and exceptional surrounds inside the Palace hotel, one of the best traditional after-work bars in San Francisco

Great cocktails and just being in a room with Maxfield Parish is reason to go. Moody, old-school loungy and great place to meet and date....

Came during lunchtime. Great service, even better atmosphere. A welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of market st. Prices are fair.

A local SF classic place(inside the Palace Hotel) for drinks and a small meal after work. Staff is very friendly.

Old school bar in the Place Hotel. Quality burger, but rich as can be! (Price matched the richness of it too)

Good value cocktails in a lovely room, somewhat spoiled by sports in tv and inappropriate music.
