I came here for a Monday happy hour hang out with a bunch of friends and was pleasantly surprised. I love going on Mondays because it usually isnt crowded. Its not a Dave and Busters, but I wouldnt have expected that. It had a few video games, including Pac Man, The Simpsons pinball, a few alleys for Skeeball, a foozball table, two shuffleboards and an old payphone booth. The pool tables were set up so a party of 15 can comfortably hang out around it and enjoy food, drinks and some trash talking while waiting their turn at the table. And lots of large to super-large screen tvs all over the place! The beer menu should satisfy any beer drinkers palette and the food menu was comfortably priced, nothing like Id have expected in the heart of Union Square. The only thing Id mention was the service was a bit slow, possibly due to the bar being a trek from where we were seated and maybe not enough staff behind the bar (maybe because it was a Monday).

I <3 this place! Excellent beer list. Just sooo many beers, ranging from super light to super dark. And if you dont know what beer to get, spin the wheel! They also offer wine and a full bar, but really, this place is all about the beer. Tons of fun games, including skee ball, buck hunter, pool, shuffleboard, pac-man, and more. Lots of TVs, perfect to catch a game, and a nicely mixed crowd most of the time that isnt too obnoxious or loud, though theyre plenty of fun. Decent bar bites as well, the classic nachos, calamari, fries, etc. Theyre super nice here and very accommodating of groups. Ive had no trouble reserving space for birthdays, corporate happy hours, alumni events, etc. I definitely recommend it if youre looking for a place to host an event!

Nice place until it gets busy then no service. When first got there half full and had good service, then got busy and no service. Ordered a beer 20 minutes later waitress came by and had forgot the order. Okay can live with that so ordered again along with food. 30 minutes later no beer or food. Saw waitress arguing with someone at front door instead of waiting tables. Group next to us were regulars and said it was always like that when busy told us to order at bar and get beer there. They said never enough servers and that management obviously did not get it. They came because of size and games. The place is big lots of TVs and good sports bar atmosphere. We finally left some cash to cover our beers and left after an hour with no beers or service.

This place is...AWESOME!!!! So there is nothing I love more than a sports bar with bar food and arcade games! I have yet to eat anything from the menu but I will in the future. They have everything here from skee-ball to billiards, shuffleboard and Foosball to Pack-man and a pinball machine. I know what youre thinking...you had me at skee-ball! They have a bunch of beers on tap and some hard alcohol. They have wine as well. So there is something for everyone! The only down side to this place is that the service is pretty terrible. The staff are not that friendly. I hope that this can be addressed soon. The bartenders are grumpy and the servers are not very attentive. If that can be changed...this would be my new number one go to for a night out!

This place has one of the San Francisco hearts which I was super surprised about. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor which was a good walk up the stairs. The bar on the 2nd floor is nice too. I came here for breakfast and dinner with my girlfriend. The groupons help you save money. During breakfast, I got the Ocean Beach Benedict and my girlfriend got the Ocean Beach Omelet. Both were tasty and came with mimosas when you get the groupon. During dinner, we had the Ocean beach linguine and fish and chips. The fish and chips felt that it needed more seasoning on the fish. But the linguine was tasty. This place is definitely worth a try with the groupon deal.

If you want a sports bar in SF there are a ton of others to go to. Start at the kezar. I am here at the Raider/charger game and the owner is hosting a unicorn rainbow birthday party in front of the big screen. We asked them to move at least from the center screen and the response was, "he is the owner". Assuming they paid nothing, we watched 15 patrons spending money leave the bar because we couldnt watch the game between cake, streamers and rainbows. As far as hosting a corporate event, the venue is not suited because of cost and the unreliability of the attention and service you would receive given the owners apparent priorities.

In a city full of dive bars, gastro pubs, and specialty cocktail lounges it is nice to have a place like Golden Gate Taproom. The place is fairly new and is huge. Lots if screens, games and tables. You almost feel like you are in one if those sports bar/entertainment center in the suburbs. Lots of beers on tap and fully stocked bars. They have a decent happy hour and drink specials. The food is standard sports bar food. Mostly fried finger foods and meats between carbs in many different forms. It is very spacious with two expansive floors, but can get really crowded on big game days/nights.

Ive been here a few time now and its great space! I most recently came here for an SF Weekly charity event. What a great addition to the otherwise touristy Union Square neighborhood! Ive been looking for a new place to grab a drink after a hard day of shopping ever since Gold Dust closed. I think Ive found it! A HUGE selection of beers on tap. One of the best in the city. Not too far behind places like Toronado and Zeitgeist. The place is big with pool tables, skee ball and shuffle board. Take a spin on the $6 wheel of beer for the chance to win a bonus shot! Great space to bring a crowd.

This place is not for me. Came here on Friday and it resembled my idea of Hell. If youre looking for a place to meet people and chat, I would advise trying to find somewhere else. That being said, they have a great selection of beers and spirits among other things, the prices are good considering the location and the service is fast. The atmosphere at the weekend is lively so if you were going here with a group of friends I can imagine it being a great place to come. The word raging comes to mind.

Im always a fan of the classic hip-hop music that is played here (Nas, Dilated Peoples, Wu-Tang, etc.). There are a number of beers and ciders available, plus they have a full bar and restaurant. There are a ton of TVs and projectors here to catch whatever sports youre into. The pricing is a bit steep, but in line with Union Square establishments. One of the bad things about this place is that they some times charge a cover ($20!!!??) to get in during select sporting events.

I went to the Golden Gate Tap Room with some friends and colleagues. It had a great atmosphere about it, being an inner-city bustling sports bar. There were plenty of TVs showing every sporting even on that they could. Theres arcade games and decent seating, the booth could fit around 6 people. The selection of local and imported beers is very very good and the prices arent too bad. The food could probably use improvement though. Overall a good and fun experience here!
