Vastly dissapponting. We came here thinking it would be like its sister restaurant Sweet Tomatoes. I noticed a couple differences immediately as I walked in. To our right and left are the dishes, most all with specks of food from past meals. The salad bar looks fresh enough, although there were other food in the wrong containers, like grapes in the chocolate mousse. Also, why is there chocolate mousse at the salad bar? The trays for your dishes are all still wet, making it gross to hold. The variety of food is very limited. It seems like all there is to eat is soups, salads, and a focaccias. If you know someone who doesnt like soups or salads, they are kind of out of luck. The food doesnt get replaced quickly enough, so when you go to get your food, you see mostly empty containers with cold leftovers. There was only one dessert choice, soft serve ice cream, although that had adequate sprinkles and sauces. The decorations near your tables are unappetizing, as they consist of black squares with moss that looks a lot like mold growing from them. The other decor consists of particle board from the hardware store with random wooden utensils sticking ninety degrees out of it. The bathrooms smelled and werent cleaned enough. We were surprised at how unappetizing and unimpressive the whole situation was.

My boyfriend and I went here on New Years Eve. We have been to many Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantations. We arrived at 7:50pm. Shortly after we sat down one of the cashiers came around and said they were pulling all the food in 5 minutes and were going to close at 8pm. We had checked the website prior to coming in, it said they would be open until 9pm. We hurried up and got all the other food that we wanted (there were about 5-7 other groups of people that did the same thing, it was pretty much everyone bum rushing the buffet line and hurrying to get their food). All the food was taken down, even though there were still people trying to grab some. We sat down again. Then ~7 minutes later, a security guard was walking around all the tables stated that they were going to turn the alarms on in 5 minutes and that everyone needs to leave. I have never seen such poor service. No one mentioned anything to us (when we were paying) that the restaurant was going to be closing soon, we would not have even bothered wasting so much food. Also, to give us a 5 minute notice on everything is absurd. The customer service here is absolutely pathetic.

Came here with my dad to get a quick bite to eat. I liked being able to make my own salad right as you come into the restaurant. The premade salads they offered were a little bland though. The same goes for their pasta dishes; the sauces were noticeably watered down (this was even after I watched one of cooks prepare a fresh batch). They had a lime-chicken soup that was quite good, but the other soups were not very good; in fact my dad said the cream of mushroom soup was downright inedible. Their desserts were so-so. They had a good strawberry-apple cobbler, but their tapioca was just awful (too bad because I love tapioca). Basically, if youre lookin for an all-you-can-eat kind of deal, youre better off at some other buffet. And on the other hand, if youre looking for healthy food, youre better off just getting soup and salad at a higher quality regular restaurant.

Newly renovated and remodeled, this Souplantation offers more creative seating, including a tall family size bar table for large parties or just to share with one another. There are rosemary clipping as flower arrangements on the tables/booths, and the napkins are recycled sitting in miniature galvanized buckets. They have a Coca-Cola drink machine where you can choose from 100+ different options. For other drink options they offer tea {hot/iced}, coffee, strawberry lemonade, as well as regular lemonade. I love the iced black tea. They have soups, muffins, bread, pasta, and ice cream, in addition to the salad bar which made them famous. This Souplantation is fun and fresh, and its our go-to restaurant.

Well, for starts, I was totally disappointed with the salad bar. Food trays were not refilled in a timely manner. The chilli soup was surprisingly under par, in fact it was not the regular chilli soup Im used to. The pinto beans were missing, instead they were substituted with bake beans. Yuck!! That was not chilli. Plus, the blue berry muffins were disappointing as well. The blue berries were missing for the most part. Maybe one or two here or there in the muffins. They were hard and next to cold, not fresh at all. Sign off, "Mr. Disappointed"

Never Have Enough Staff.... We live 10 minutes from this Souplantation location, we like the place but this location ALWAYS short staffed, one cashier takes care of two lines at once, poor girl! Dirty dishes sit on the tables for a long period of time. Flies in the restaurant. Very poor management system. Please hire more staff. Now, we have to drive to Rancho Bernardo location which is always has enough staff, clean, friendly staff. The most important thing is no flies....

I havent been to Souplantation for quite a while. Your intermediately to the salad bar no cashier directly to the salad bar which is sort of odd. You build your salad then you pay after you pay you enter the main area. It was 7:30 p.m. The soups were just liquid no solids. Canary was filthy food on the floor napkins on the floor tables needed to be clean. Food was mediocre. Gave 2 stars waitresses very nice.

Not worth the trip or money. Our table didnt get bused till we were about to leave. Nearly every piece of dining ware was dirty. There were no spoons; for soup or ice cream. The soda machine was out of ice. A lot of the food looked as if it had been sitting out for a while. The dining room set up is atrocious. Ill stick with the one in Chula Vista from now on. Its not worth coming here.

We had a small issue at the cash register because he missed a person on the tab but the cashier handled everything perfectly and calm. Normally you have to wait a long time to resolve issues at other place but the cashier made it simple. The food was also great. The BBQ chicken pizza was amazing and the soups and salads are always fresh and healthy

Ah... Brings me back to grade school cafeteria food. 0 selection, bland, and boring. Its also quite expensive for the minimalistic selection. However I have to say the wait staff was nice and friendly. Walking in is quite confusing. I feel like there should be some instructions for newcomers, or maybe a warning...

They need to improve in the soups and pastas. Pastas are taste-less. All I could savor was the Alfredo sauce and the pene with marinara looked like it was watered down. No taste. Sorry. But Im not coming back, rather pay more at olive garden than this. My friends and girlfriend have the same opinion. There ware 4 of us

We come here about once a week and it has become our comfort food spot! Staff is always nice, food is tasty and they rotate some items in and out to create some variety. Always look for a coupon online (since there is ALWAYS one available). I also suggest making a root beer float with the soft serve and soda machine!
