We went there tonight, for Valentines day. We have been there before, and we never had a "bad" meal before. The reason we went was because we already had a nice and expensive Valentines meal last weekend at the Davenport. So tonight we decided we did not want to cook, so we would go somewhere cheap. We got there and they had a board saying tonight was "a special seafood all you can eat". Okay, so we figured we lucked out. We paid, and were sat at a table, surrounded by garbage on the floor. I tried to ignore it. We went to get food. The crab legs they advertised, there were 4 in the metal bin. 4. And the place, there was maybe 5 other groups there. It never got refilled in the hour and a half we were there. I made a bowl for pho and was after waiting ten minutes I finally found someone to cook it. The broth had zero flavor, it was gross. The meatballs, were awful. The chicken wasnt flavored. And the cilantro had some DIRT on it. It was GRITTY and UNWASHED. My husband found the oysters and ate some only to realize it was BAD and tasted old. He was like I know what I am getting for Valentines day. He is currently puking as I write this. The rice was crunchy. The crab wontons had NO CRAB, and the cream cheese was NOT seasoned. It was straight cream cheese with nothing else in them. And not cooked right as they were cold. I asked for tea, (and it was like hot water and very light in color). Ugh. Okay..... So I decided they could not go wrong with dessert.... Right? So I grabbed some. All of it was FLAVORLESS. And that is when we had dinner and an unwanted show. The waitress was fighting with a young boy, her own I think, and he was smashing her hand onto the counter up front, as she yelled in his face and he screamed back in what I was pretty sure was Cantonese. I didnt eat the desserts just tried them and finally pushed it aside, and I went up for some ice cream instead. There was a bottle of chocolate sauce so I put some of that on it. I tried it and realized the syrup tasted weird. I said do they have sugar free chocolate syrup??? My husband tried it, and said, they watered it down! What the ever living heck? I tried the syrup and realized he had to be right, it didnt even taste like the cheap o knock off brands, it tasted watered like they ran out, poured water into the bottle, and shook it good. Gross. At that point, a womans small child nearby asked to use the bathroom, and her mom said NO I WENT IN THERE, YOU DONT WANT TO GO IN THERE, WAIT TIL WE GET HOME OR I CAN TAKE YOU INTO THE MALLS BATHROOM. FACEPALM. I didnt go in there to check myself, but if you think the bathroom at the mall is a "better option" or think letting your small child, she was probably 5 or so, wait for the bathroom is a better option, there is a SERIOUS PROBLEM. So lets see..... AWFUL food..... On Valentines day when they should have upped their game (and since it was Valentines day their prices were higher)...... Bad food, my husband likely is sick from BAD SEAFOOD...... Dirty........ And a child beating on his mother while they BOTH SCREAM in each others faces.... Watered down chocolate syrup..... Bathrooms so dirty you would risk an accident with a child around the age of 5 rather than let them go there.... Etc..... Dont go here. WORST VALENTINES MEAL EVER.

We decided to eat here because there is crab legs and seafood, the whole time we were eating they didnt bother refilling the crab legs and this is on a sunday where they charged you almost 15 dollars. The sign by the cashier says sunday is a "crab buffet". We waited for almost an hour and finally asked if they will refill the crab legs, yes they did but all we get are all pinchers and hardly there is a leg on the crabs and there were only few people eating. The server was nice but the place was horrible. I believe it was the owners kids that are running around and it is kind of distracting when you want to have a nice meal with their kids running all over the place. It used to be nice and we always go here but this last visit was awful. Also, i suggest if they can minimized the screaming on the kitchen section, not sure what was going on but i heard a lot of screaming (maybe its just how they talk?). Hopefully the owner will do something about this and make the place decent for the customers. Oh, also, right when were given a seat, there was a couple that complained that their fried rice and some of their food was frozen or cold. Lastly, i think the owner doesnt even care on the negative reviews compare to some business place that actually cares and explain and wanting the customer to come back and make things right.

The only reason I come here a few times a year is the food is mostly good as long as it’s fresh (usually 75% or so is fresh enough with the remainder of the selection being dry and old). There’s a reason why this place has such a bad rating. Each time I come here I tell myself never to come back. It’s very rundown and dirty and the service is non existent. Each time I come the waiters/hosts sit around and eat and get up to great you while finishing eating. This time I got a really sticky and gross cup for tea and couldn’t find my server for a solid 10min to ask for a clean one (and she didn’t speak good enough English to understand what I was saying so it made it tough) Rap music was playing the whole time with full explicit language which I don’t want my kids hearing. To make it worse when we were done eating I saw an employee walking around and spraying cleaning solution onto the buffer counters and wiping them down, causing a mist that is definitely getting into the food. This was the last time I came here, never again.

I admit - it does look like its getting run down. This is something I have noticed with the Chinese Buffets in other towns too - like Tri-Cities. They always start out clean and fresh, and then they slowly deteriorate. Maybe its a cultural thing? However - we have been there at least a half dozen times, and the food is always hot and fresh. The variety is outstanding. The Sushi is wonderful and varied. The price is fantastic. I guess I dont understand the vast differences in experiences that people have there. I dont expect great service at a buffet.... its a buffet. And I agree, they could be more friendly - but they likely dont speak English, which makes it difficult when they engage in a simple conversation and people start talking to them a mile a minute and they dont understand - so it is likely easier for them to just take care of business and not engage in conversations. If you like Chinese food (something other than Panda Express), then I dont understand why you wouldnt like Hong Kong Buffets food....

I made a horrible decision. The family was hungry, red Robin had a twenty minute wait, so I said, "hey look, a Chinese buffet!" looking back, Im amazed we didnt get food poisoning. some of the options were downright weird (and smelled bad). cheese mussels? what? no thank you. frog legs? I actually like frog legs, but these tasted like an aquarium. not that I know what an aquarium tastes like, but, I used to have goldfish and....well, I digress. the things that werent freaky, like orange chicken, pepper beef, and garlic shrimp, did not taste good, and the shrimp tasted rancid. think Im some kind of hater? think Im being too harsh? ok, walk in and take a peek into their kitchen. can anyone say BIO HAZARD?! knowing what I know now, I wouldnt let my neighbors annoying dog eat out of this place. but, I will be forever haunted by the picture of my toddler first using chopsticks to eat their nasty lo mein. Ive failed as a father.
