The place was packed with customers lined up out the door, so I had high hopes for a great late Sunday breakfast. Carved wooden bears, photos of grizzlies catching spawning salmon in their mouth, plenty of wooden furnishings provide a mountain lodge feel. The menus are cleverly printed on the inside of a decades-old newspaper and breakfast, lunch & dinner seemed to be available. The waiter recommended the homemade fruit filled bear claw pastries. Im a fan of bear claws so no arm twisting was necessary. The claws were nicely served warm - but were excruciatingly sweet - the fruit filling consisted of a huge dollop of sickeningly sweet berry flavored jelly - lacking the tartness of an actual berry or two to balance out all that sugar. One bite was enough. Coffee was served without cream or sugar. When I requested cream the waiter served the only cream available - those little plastic cups that sit on the table of truck stop diners and Dennys caliber restaurants across America - and contain little or no cream - just a long list of chemicals, preservatives, various types of sugars - composed so as to keep without refrigeration for awhile (and designed to survive a nuclear blast most likely.) The stack of pancakes was - hmm, whats the opposite of light and fluffly? Heavy, doughy, just plain yech-y. The over medium eggs were served cool & hard. I cant even recall what else was ordered at our table - we had a bite or two of each dish, paid & left. Considering the number of people packing the place, Black Bear has a loyal following . . . . for the life of me, I cant fathom why.

The most incompetent employees Ive tryed 3 times now and this time was the worst if you are ordering for pickup check your food first they get it wrong every time the bigger Latin manager should not be in this kind of business makes excuses first thing I asked for hot sauce on the side when I got there my meal sat there for 5 mins before they decided to grab it for me and they forgot my bacon so they gave me half my order I told him this is suppose to come with pancakes and they went to get it then I asked for syrup and butter because they forgot that and he gives me butter so I asked can I get syrup And he got frustrated by the time I got home my food was cold never again will I come to this establishment

Ive been to this location 5 or 6 times. In the past Ive had inconsistent food and service. Today was a bad visit. Bathroom toilets were not working properly, no soap and they were not clean. 1 plate of pancakes was burnt, one perfect. We ordered a burger for the first time today, and it was not good. I think Id go as far as to say it was the worst (and smallest) $11 burger Ive ever ordered. Cheese was cold and unmelted, toppings were added in a way you couldnt eat without fixing and spreading them, but the killer was overcooked and completely tasteless meat. Order anything but the burgers here. Their pancakes taste good, and the sandwiches are ok. The cleanliness is a bit concerning.

Honestly one star is way to generous. I was told to avoid this place, but tried it anyways. There was hardly any customers, but it was just to much to ask for the workers to stop socializing and seat us. There were five of us and she tried to seat us at a table for four until I pointed out there were 5 of us. Our food took forever and was honestly disgusting, French toast should not taste like it was dipped in chicken. We hardly ate any food and waited standing up for our check, but it didnt come. I had to walk up to pay, but honestly I should have just walked out. The girl asked how the food was I said horrible and all I got was a oh sorry. HORRIBLE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

We came here today...We went to the counter and told them how much we needed seated and then went outside to wait for 30 minutes. People that came after us were being seated so we walked in and to our surprise our names were 3 sheets deep so if we didnt walk in there we would have been waiting forever, We got seated and the waitress took our order. My brothers egg had a hair on it and my dads bread was stale. Also we had no silverware once we got our food which was very inconvenient. I could barely move my chair cause of how tight everyone was packed in. Food was gross and it smelled inside. Never going back, shouldve stuck with Sams Fourplay..

The food was really good, and the orange juice is to die for, this is coming from someone who doesnt like orange juice. But we were missing items, got wrong items, we got the salad LAST 20 minutes after we stopped eating. It was tolerable as just mistakes until I had made eye contact with our server for a few seconds. She proceeded to go to the back, then started cleaning tables across the store and helping other guests that came after we STOPPED eating. Needless to say it would be zero star if the food wasnt excellent.

Its a busy place! Sometimes there is a bit of a wait to be seated but the staff does there best to get you seated within a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes the waiter or waitress is on the ball and other times not so much, its a hit and miss. There is plenty to choose from the menu and a heaping amount I might add. Breakfast menu is super delicious, which i enjoy. I think they can add more to there lunch and dinner menus. All in all good food!!

We go after appointments, so its a great place to grab a late breakfast if we are starving. The service is fantastic. Breakfasts are at your table in no time at all. Huge servings. French toast, omlets, scrambles, and just about any breakfast item is avaible. Lunchtime burgers sandwiches all are good. We had the prime rib dinner once and it wasnt too bad. Come hungry and expect to walk out very full!

Came in really hungry for dinner and was extremely disappointed. I had the Pot pie that was 90% peas and 2% Chicken and was smaller than KFCs and some frozen. It came with a side of veggies and neither were warm enough to be considered fresh from the kitchen. I think my server new how I felt because I was the only customer that wasnt asked how my meal was.

Great food and huge portions. Mama burn sauce is fantastic. The wait time for a table can be a bit long on the weekends for breakfast, around 20 -30 minutes, but the food is worth it. The waiters are attentive enough so you dont feel forgotten, but not overbearing. I love that no matter how busy it is you never feel rushed to eat and leave.

This place more than met my expectation. My server Jose did a great job, very attentive. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was really good, a little spicy because there was a lot of jalapeños but I like the heat. The portions are large and they bring coloring pages with crayons to the table for the kids. Ill definitely be back.
