Had brunch with my ladies here a few Saturdays ago. Sister got there at 10:30 AM to put our names down, and we were seated around 11:40. What really annoyed me about this place is how unlogical everything was. You put your name down on a list, and can take seats at the bar, in booths, or at couches where you can order drinks. Once they call your name, youll be seated in the restaurant next door. Why not just seat people and be served food at the booths in the bar side of the restaurant? Whatever. We had a group of 3 and they decided to squeeze us in at a 2 top where we barely had room for all of our food--- had to place the water on the bench instead. I hate eating off a cramped area. The smoked trout has my sisters favorite--- she ended up finishing it for me. Her lost eggs were just okay. I liked the donuts the most. Girl next to us was freaking out because we were discussing our dating lives and said thats why she "doesnt eat at places like this." Not sure what that means. Eccentric.

Tasty tasty food. And lovely interesting drinks. Mainly Swedish, but with other scandinavian favorites to. This is Bröders original location and its very small. They pack as much seating into the tiny space as they can so its also very right quarters. This is not the place to bring your children, your strollers, or your backpacks. This place often has a wait on the weekends. In the past, the closed bar next door has sometimes been offered for shelter, along with some coffee. But Ive also had to wait huddled outside in the rain so Im not sure when thats available and when its not. If you are into queuing for a good Portland bunch, you wont be disappointed. But if that makes you grumpy, the cramped interior wont brighten your mood once youre seated and this location may not be for you. Try a different Bröder location though in that case, the others are more spacious with more waiting room.

Adorable little place with great service and vibe. I love the little skillets and wood boards the food comes on and the checkered little paper mats. I also love when a restaurant brings warm milk for your coffee. It came in a sweet little glass jar, again very cute. We had a spectacular Bloody Mary called The Danish Mary made with Aquavit rather then vodka. It was packed with flavor. I had a Baked Scramble with applewood smoked bacon, mushrooms, danish gouda and the side salad of the day, an english pea salad with bacon and blue cheese. It was fantastic! My son had the Smoked Trout Pytt. Potatoes, peppers and onions with smoked trout two baked eggs and pickled beets. He talked about it the whole way home! There are so many things we wanted to try on the menu so we will be heading back soon. I must try their Aebleskivers with lemon curd and lingonberries next time around.

This place was recommended to me by the self proclaimed "Queen of Portland Brunch". Bold claim? Indeed. But shes been 7/7 with her recommendations so far. And shes French. So to you, who does not know anything about her other than this fact, admit it: all other things being equal that means she probably has good taste in food. I have a fleeting ephemeral vision of their sauteed greens. Bathed in a light oil, you almost forget the vegetables involved are good for you. Only caveat is I heard the lines can be huge. I only consider going here if I have an off weekday. Been here twice and both times were great. But if I did end up being stuck in line, it wouldnt be so bad as the neighborhood (Clinton) is idyllic, what with its cute shops and bike lane that connects Woodstock to the Hawthorne Bridge passing in front.

Top notch breakfast. Walking into Broder was almost daunting the first time. The small cafe that Id heard so much about was packed to the brim and about twenty people ahead of me were waiting outside for a table to clear. Thankfully it was just myself that morning, so it didnt take long to get shuffled into a seat by the bar and place my order. Its really awesome to see the open kitchen and the cook flying through everything, juggling ten dishes at once. The food comes in funny, square cast iron skillets and surprisingly fills you up more than youd expect two eggs and cream to do so. Their walnut toast was rich and flavorful and the potato pancakes and fruit fritters (absolutely packed with fruit) were amazing as well. Id love to plan a second trip to Broder when I can get there early enough to beat the line.

I asked if I could do a togo order and was told they dont do togo. I made it clear that I would wait in line to get my food like everyone else, but I would like to have my food boxed. I was told they have togo boxes and I could have boxes after sitting and eating, but they wont package it when its served because they wont do togo. I didnt understand the logic behind it and was trying to get a direct answer that made any kind of sense, which didnt happen. The girl just kept saying the same thing and was extremely rude. She told me I could go eat somewhere else. I couldnt be more disappointed because I really wanted to try their food for a while. Horrible communication and utter lack of customer service. Two huge thumbs down. Super disappointed at how I was treated.

Having lived in Denmark during junior year in high-school I was really excited to get to try a restaurant that specialized in Scandinavian food. I was impressed by the overall selection, aebelskiver (Danish pancakes), aegekage (a fritata of sorts), and of course the classic dark rye bread open faced sandwiches. I was however dissatisfied with the service their, and from the manager no-doubt. We came in during brunch which is very busy. We entered the building to see if their was a list we could put ourselves on and were rudely shood away to go wait outside. It sort of set the tone for a bad morning and I was rather unimpressed by the lack of professionalism on his part.

Be ready to wait up to one hour to get seated, but you wont regret it. I found this place online and It has really good reviews. I thought this would be a good place to take some friends from out of state to brunch. I arrived one hour before I told my friends to be there just to make sure we didnt have to wait to log once they arrived. Once they got there we were seated in just a matter of minutes. ( it pays off to go early and get your name on the waiting list) The staff was friendly and the overall service was great. The food was excellent and not only do you enjoy the taste, but the presentation as well is visually pleasing. Im planning on coming back!!

Went here for brunch on a weekday. A myriad of options, it was so hard to pick! This charming SE Clinton Restaurant is tiny, so not good for big groups. I got the Smoked Trout Pytt I Panna hash. Smoked trout hash with beets and two very square baked eggs. A side of walnut toast on the side to sop up the goodness, the dish is intoxicating. The flavors of the onions and potoates with the trout meld together, next thing you know the entire plate is gone. A traditional sweedish breakfast the Breakfast Bord, was light and good but was bland compared to the hash. Heres to real sweedish food..not what you see at Ikea :)
