I have to rate my experience there as way below what I had expected. I had just finished eating breakfast at the Oakland location. Thats when I saw what I thought was a small dog inside the restaurant. I focused my eyes an saw that it was a large rat (Yes, it was a rat, not a mouse). I couldnt even scream. I asked the other people in my group if they had seen the rat. I threw money on the table & ran out. The restaurant only had a few people inside & everyone else (including the waitress) had been watching the soccer game. I had been seated near the front door and the rat had to have come from the back of the restaurant (from the kitchen area?!?). The rat went into an area right off the front door (where the swinging doors are). The way I see it, it doesnt really matter how good or bad something is. The important thing is that the place has to be CLEAN & RODENT FREE. That was my third time going there & my last time going there. I realize that restaurants can expect to have some issues at night with critters. But this happened during day light hours.

ITS A JOKE! Do NOT eat here!!! This place is disrespecting authentic quality Mexican food. Honestly I dont rite reviews at ALL, however, I need to WARN all good paying innocent customers that will become VICTIMS! Ive had better food at taco trucks on International Blvd. The food was greasy and un appealing. Smelled horrible as well. We got a burrito- was under cooked and falling apart, and huevos rancheros- noting good about it, the pork topped on my eggs smelled like barnyard ass and the overall flavor was absent! I wish I would have taken pictures but I was to disappointed to even be around it and had to save it for my dog, but he did not even eat it!! Im sorry but in a place of such fine resources of inports coming off the docs, I cant see how they could be this bad.

Food is ok. Price is above average for mediocre Mexican food. I myself am Hispanic and and fair to judge other Mexican establishments like mother cooking his place is nowhere near that. The outside near the parking lot smells like S**T which is where my rating comes into place as well if they cant maintain a clean property I could only imagine what their kitchen looks like. Service is ok and they got live mariachi which is where get my second star otherwise they would get one star rating. Avoid this place and only eat here if you cant drive to next best Mexican food place around here!

The restaurant looks run down. The mariachi that come by nearly blow your ear drums out by being next to you. I thought Otaez was suppose to be a restaurant not a club and dont get me started with the food. Some of the female waiters are attractive tho so I give them that. The place also smells like rotten kung pao chicken. The Guadalajara restaurant on Fruitvale Avenue is about 5 minutes away this is the address 1001 Fruitvale Ave, Oakland, CA 94601.

Nothing fancy, but good food from a family business with made to order dishes." Lunch approximately $8.50 for two item with lo mein and a drink. Noodles tasted not so great to me, chicken and sweet sour pork wasnt too bad. I have been here about 5 times. Very filling and has a variety to choose from. Arrive early because when lunch time ends at 2:30 the food looks like it has sat around for too long

One of the best taco places ever. Few Mexican restaurants will serve Tacos made from Chicharon, not to confuse with Central America word for Chicharon for what is carnitas in their country. Mexican Chicharon Is what the word implies...skin from the pork rinds that has been fried and has some of little meat on skin.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. SERVER SHOWED UP WITH EXTREMELY THIN-GREASY CHIPS AND THE MENU OFFERING JUST COFFEE. SHE LEFT AND DIDNT COME BACK. When I was looking for somebody they were so busy checking their phone with another two people and rag-drying cutlery I was hungry and I just left.

Because, Omellete a la Mexicana. Actually I can recommend almost any of the breakfast options. (Minus Chorizo con Huevos) All come with beans, rice, tortillas, and some VERY hot salsa. Tons of street parking and no wait on Sunday mornings should further sweeten the deal.

The service and food is great, excellent. So one thing is not right, the bathrooms are nasty, not seat covers, so many tissue paper on the floor. The drunk persons make pee on toilet seat. Thats is not good for visitors who come to eat.
