We showed up without a reservation, about 5 bags, and were headed to the airport right after, and ended up adding 3 more to our party and having a business meeting. Despite keeping them open far longer than they would have liked, the service was top notch and nothing but warm and welcoming. The food was without a doubt some of the best traditional Mexican fare I have ever eaten. I had the Enchiladas de Mole and it is out of this world. No one at the table had anything to say but extremely positive reviews. Not to mention the margaritas we ordered were exactly how I like them: strong. Im pretty sure it was equal parts tequila, lime juice and ice. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. Thanks again to the staff for being excellent. Highly recommended.

I really appreciate Mario and the team. They are putting out some incredibly fresh incredibly delicious Mexican food. Be a little patient I feel that theyre always short staffed. He needs like a full-time bartender and host. But when the boys are behind the bar pouring drinks a poor great drinks. And whoevers in the kitchen making that food is working incredibly diligently to put out some awesome freakin Mexican food. The price point is right. The food is awesome the drinks are awesome. I hit the spot up every time Im in the area. Plus you can always go across the street to the legendary Buckys bar for a slice of history and a stiff drink.

Im looking for a take-out Mexican restaurant to replace La Bamba in my dining repitoire. You know the place -- they make burritos and nachos, you can eat there but most folks get take-out, and the food has big portions. I found little of that at El Sinaleonse. I ordered take-out as I walked in but it took 20 minutes to make it. What were they making? Plain nachos (no meat). The food itself was ordinary - not bad, but nothing outstanding. It didnt help that a bunch of chips were soggy by the time I got home to eat my meal. I dont plan to go back, and Im still looking out for that La Bamba replacement.

Came here for the first time last weekend to try out a new Mexican restaurant. Im used to places where you order at a register so it was fun to try something new. I ordered a combo plate, 3 items. A soft-taco, enchilada and chalupa. Chicken, carnitas and carne asada. It came with some rice and beans as well. All the meats were great, tender and delicious. There was plenty of food and the price was good. I was underwhelmed by the enchilada sauce, so besides that, everything was good. I want to come back and try one of their burritos. They put those on the "fast food" section on their menu.

Its a hidden gem! Vegan Food Review: YUM. Its not what they serve by default, but they made it happen for me and it was good. I had chips, salsa, and a burrito. Everything was solid. Love the salsa. Drinks: They have a small bar, with the basics and some nice tequila. The bartender made a mean margarita. It was well balanced, not too much sweet and not too much booze. It went well with a beer and the food. Atmosphere: Solid. Its a strip mall kind of place but feels pretty nice instead of divey. No complaints at all! Staff: Friendly, attentive, quick service. Definitely going back.

This place is great- very nice atmosphere, excellent margaritas with just the right amount of potency, and the ceviche was amazing!! Best Ive ever had. The staff was also wonderful and very friendly. I went with a few co-workers and one woman mentioned when she ordered her entree that she has a tomato allergy (which is why she couldnt eat any of the ceviche that we were sharing for an appetizer) so our server brought her her own plate of ceviche with no tomatoes, without being asked, at no extra charge. I had a great time- very positive experience.

Best tacos ever!El Sinaloense Parking isnt an issue since its just right on the street/alley. Ive only tried the asada, carnitas, and pastor. All are delicious! Dont forget to ask for the potatoes cooked in meat juices and lard. Last time I went, they had lemon slices instead of lime. Bring your own drinks and eat in your car! Get 4 or 5 tacos at a time so the tortillas remain fresh.

Expensive, slow and food was nothing special. On a Monday during lunch time, they had one guy as waiter, barman and cashier for the whole restaurant, with only two busboys. That made service incredibly slow. Its also overpriced: a cup of guacamole was $7.95. There are much better Mexican restaurants around -- this one is one to avoid.

Found El Sinaloense on a whim, while looking for a satisfying margarita. Not only did we find an excellent margarita here, we also found a great menu, welcoming service, and an overall great vibe. This, so far, is the best Mexican restaurant that Ive been to in San Mateo. Go for it!

We had a very enjoyable meal, especially thanks to the staff. They helped point me to suitable dishes for a vegetarian and made some adjustments to meet my requirements. They even had special meat-free beans. And the prices are very modest.

This place is awesome; sensational food (try the Sinaloense Tropical and Molcajete!), friendly service that does become slow from time to time, but that is part of the Mexican charm and prices are fair. This place is a must try!!

Great authentic Mexican food, not just the usual... I just ask the owner what he would suggest and treats me to dishes from all parts of Mexico. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal!

Great food and service. I had the steak and prawn super burrito wet and it was spectacular. I got here early around 530 on a Friday night and it filled up quickly. Very popular spot

Excellent Mexican food with a large menu. Service is always excellent, and there is never a wait, even though the place is usually full most evenings. I highly recommend this place

Mediocre spot for Mexican food. A TON of food at a reasonable price, but with very little taste. A few of the seafood options didnt seem incredibly fresh either. Id skip it.
