I have loved Jade Villa for years. It"s my favorite for the typical dim sum items. If you are Chinese and you want the more unusual, really top-notch dim sum items you"d find in Hong Kong, you may or may not find them that day, depends on the cook and time of day. Best advice: GO EARLY!!! VERY EARLY, like 9AM. This place is CRAZY BUSY and super noisy. It always has a mad rush of sound that kind of gets like a comforting ocean after a while. I like it; it"s for big noisy Cantonese family fare. By 10:00AM-11:00 you"ll feel like you"re waiting for a concert, it"ll be totally packed. The larger the party, the longer the wait for a table. My favorite food items: Any of their seafood, Ha Cheung (shrimp in rice noodle rolls), Char Siu Bao (steamed or baked pork buns), Lo mai gai (Lotus wrapped rice with chicken), Lo bat go (fried daikon cake), Siu Long bao (pork? dumplings with red ginger vinegar), pai gwut (short ribs, claypot cooked), Ma Lai Go (fluffy yellow egg cake), char siu sou (sweet char siu pork in puff pastry) and Mango pudding. They also have great noodles if you order them directly. It"s not the fanciest, it"s the home-iest.

Located in a better area of Oakland. For $15 - $20 you can eat all you can eat sushi, crab, unagi ( BBQ EEL ) , pork ,chicken, noodles, other american type food like fries etc, and desserts such as caramel flan and cheesecakes, they also have an ice cream machine and bowls + Cones to serve in. some of the more interesting things they carry are sole - a flat fish, and Frog Legs, at first i was reluctelant to eat the frog legs, but when i did it was really well cooked and seasoned very well. During Holiday Seasons such as Chinese New year, they have Lobster and alot of it. all of which is all you can eat. overall 4/5 stars - Very Clean - Well Priced, Good Location, Well Prepared Fresh Food. It would be a 5-star review if it had a larger selection of sushis, however the selection is still very good for novice sushi eaters and people who love sushi alike. they have multiple species of Tuna , Salmon, And Other Sashimis.

Most delicious meal ever. We went late afternoon on Friday to this hidden gem on 18th street in San Francisco. Loved each n every item ordered. Soups were delicious- French onion and cream of asparagus. Next, we had the steak n frites, muscles, salmon. All of us loved our entrees. Followed with amazing crepes and gelato along with espresso and cappuccino. Excellent friendly warm service with delicious food. Highly recommend to all.

Jade Villa can be counted on for good, typical Dim Sum, nothing spectacular, but perfectly good. And the prices are completely reasonable, so you can gorge yourself without really breaking the bank. They might even have a discount during off hours. I cant remember exactly, but I seem to remember going there and getting a 30% discount because of the time of day, and so 4 of us wound up eating for $22 total.

This is a mix of random food, you have dim sum, American Chinese food, Chinese food, and sushi. The dim sum is the better of all the selection. There is so much to select from, that sometimes you dont even know what to eat because youre not real sure what is good and what isnt. Dont fear, get a little to try, if you like it, you can go back for more.

We were headed to the Cambodian restaurant next door that had good reviews, and we saw this Chinese buffet full of Asian people -- usually a good sign. The food here was disgusting. The selection was decent and they even had lobster but, with the exception of a couple dishes that Id consider "edible," the food was terrible. Dont waste your $20.

This buffet is pretty diverse, but mainly its for Asians. Now if you come and not knowing what to get off the table, you loose. Avoid dinner if you can because the because lunch left converts to dinner with seafood added. Of course price will be a little more too. There are things that Americans wont eat, but Asians consider it a delicacy.

not your typical american-chinese buffet with general tso, lo mein, etc. Has more dim sum and authentic chinese dishes - not many buffets you find beef tripe, to give you an indication. If you like dim sum, you get some decent items for a buffet. Its not fantastic, but at 10 bucks, its definitely good value.

This place is a good Buffet. I have had a hard time finding buffets in the Bay Area and this place did not disappoint. I went here at dinner time. The dinner price was a bit more expensive than I expected but they offered quite a few Sushi choices as well as seafood and crab legs. Overall I plan to return.

Buffet Fortuna has been better when they first opened, but when their softie ice cream stopped working, they didnt bother to repair it, so is reflecting of their business letting it go down. For lunch, there are dim sum items, I like their steamed fish which was delicious but watch out for the fishbones.

When the First one opened, I had chance to experience , I liked, I spread the business cards to some people I know. Some years later, I came to Oakland, I found the same owner who is running this restaurant at Chinatown in Oakland, I was very impressed.

This buffet did not have too many options to choose from. Since its a buffet I expected more items to try but it was not the case. Food options were scarce so if you are looking for a restaurant to try different things this is not the place to go.

Its not the best buffet place. The food there doesnt taste very fresh. My mom went there with me and that night her stomach started to hurt. The food at night is worst than lunch. Its pretty expensive for food that bad quality

Loved the fried rice, the lobster, the ice cream, the egg tarts and the coffee. So much selections to choose from! We come to this buffet so often that the people who work there know our faces now.

The food is disgusting, it looks disgusting and the breaded food was old and dry to the taste. The only good food here you would probably like are the dumplings.
