So we went to this restaurant for lunch as tourists in Seattle and had some elderly with us who only ate Indian food. We were a party of 10 adults and three kids. As soon as we entered, the old lady did not look happy so I checked with her if they could handle our order, she smiled and said, "Yes, of course". So we sat and started to order. Since we were a big party and as expected had different orders and orders that we did not put through all at once. But, we apologized for the inconvenience. The old lady was very rude to my husband, pointed at him with a pen from a distance and said " Hey you, I cannot make your tea right now because all the stove tops are occupied with the orders you guys placed. So your tea will be the last one to come out". I hushed my husband and said that was okay. Then one of our cousins ordered seafood platter or something- after all the order was placed, that is when she grew outrageously rude and shouted at him/all of us for not ordering all at once and that she had to overwork blah blah. At that moment, I suggested that we go to a different restaurant, but before we left one of the elders with us thought that we should let the lady know that she was rude, so he called her and said that she was very rude to us and they should have told us earlier if they did not have capacity to cook for that many people. That is when the young, son with the turban walked into us and literally thrashed us. He was loud and obnoxious in front of our elderly and 3 little 4 year old kids. "no one talks to my mom like that, people who talk to my mom like that cant eat at my restaurant blah blah". Our uncle tried to explain to him what actually happened but the dude was not ready to listen. Instead he got so aggravated that opened the main door and asked us to get out. He still was loud and disrespectful. That is when I lost it. I went to the counter and told him that I wanted to pay for the drinks that had already come out. He refused to take the money and said that he did not want any of our money because we insulted his mother. Our kids started to cry. There was a big scene and we had back and forth for about 15 mins. I was mad because we were with kids who have not seen us talk so disrespectfully with anyone and this guy was doing just that in front of our kids. I told him that we had kids and what he was doing was not right. He did not listen. Finally, his mother was scared by this time and realized what they had done so she accepted $20 bill from us for the drinks. we walked out but man what an experience. Until today, my kids ask me about that incident. So even if you guys like the food, which I bet is good, because his mom made it herself, chances are you will get shouted at and thrown out of the restaurant for ordering food.

Worst experience. No customer service if you are Indian. Very expensive . The Indian lady there will look down upon you as if you are a refugee who just landed here. She will treat you that way too. The food cost 87$ for 4 of us and 2 small kids for dinner. Out of courtesy I added a 3$ tip for the guy who served us. A couple days later I checked my credit card bill and I was charged $100. They probably coolly prefixed a 1 before the 3 and made it $13 tip. Have to give a 1 rating as there is no provision here for a negative rating. Food : was OK but everything else that I mentioned spoiled the experience and we will never visit this place again and will never recommend it to a friend. I am not the only one who gave this review . Read the other 1 star or 2 star reviews and decide. Else if you want to rely only on the 5 star reviews , good luck. That means you are not aware of any other Indian restaurants in Seattle.

I have been coming here for the lunch buffet for a couple of years. One of the only places I can get a satisfying lunch that I dont feel Im sacrificing (I am vegetarian, and always get PLENTY to eat...ahem, maybe more than enough). About a month ago I set up a group lunch/reunion here; about 8 showed up. Everyone--even those not usually fond of Indian food--loved it! And if Ive failed to mention it, the "staff" (family) are always polite, helpful, and make you feel welcome--even the rather rowdy bunch of women on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Food was great, as usual; I am addicted to the Saag Paneer...my friends say the Butter Chicken is to die for. (And another went back for rice pudding "several" times...)

So friendly from the start. Wonderful front staff. Happy to seat our family of five without reservations. Wonderful service. Water glasses were always full. Cozy restaurant on a blustery day. Then there was the food: Amazing! Great selection. Yummy, perfectly spicy curries. Generous pakora and samosa. Piping hot varieties of naan including stuffed ones. Hot and cold tables of delicious curries and chutneys. Fresh fruit. Soooo good! And did I mention cheap? $7.95 for all-you-can-eat! We are big fans of Eastside Indian like Kanishka and Spice Route and never thought wed find any place that good in Seattle. We were wrong! We will be back again and again!!

We were out of town visitors and were excited to try this restaurant. When we walked in we were met at the door by the "hostess who very plainly told us they would not have a table available for half an hour and it would be longer than that before we could order. More than half of the tables were empty, 12 or 15 patrons being served. Maybe they did not want to serve a family in the evening (two older children), who knows. Summarily ushered out the door, we had a very nice meal just down the street. So, if you want to be judged worthy of trying their cuisine and maybe live a real-life Seinfeld episode, soup included, give the Tandoori Hut a try!

OKAY food BAD service! Thats the best way to describe it. The place is big no doubt. But the food was not so good! I ordered a lamb and a rice dish. Portion size was really small for the price. Also the cook for sure mixed two batches of lamb together. Some ofthe pieces were hard to chew, almost uncooked! Some were good! Thats unacceptable at an eatery! Rice was supposed to be basmati which it was not. Servers and workers r aloof about the guests. They dont even ask how the food is! Bad service. Dont spend money here if u want to eat good food!

My sister said today- you have to experience the best tandoor chicken in the whole world- and they will bring it right to us. It was indeed the best ever!!!!! This food is pure magic, cooked to perfection coupled with intriguing and fresh side sauces and amazing garlic naan and rice. Generous servings of delectable indian cuisine were delivered to us with warmth and kindness by the son of the man behind the recipes. I wish there was a Tandoori Hut in Tacoma. I cant wait to go again next trip to Seattle. Im in love with this place!
