Its our local Sushi restaurant. Weve become friendly with the staff and for that its a comfortable place. Decent Sushi, nothing to rave about, but affordable and close. Take out service is extremely slow IF you can manage to reach them on the phone. They are using and old cordless phone and the batteries run out frequently...so sometimes hours go by before they realize the phone was off the charger... Regardless, we find this place charming.

Usually when I go to a Japanese restaurant, I try out their katsudon. This place had some of the best and cheapest katsudon Ive had in North Bay. They interestingly added a few pickles, which I had never seen before in katsudon, but they added a nice touch to the dish. The waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. None of my other friends seemed to think the place was all that special, so maybe I just happened to order the right thing?

My family and I have been customers since Matsuyama was located on San Marin Drive in Novato. The food has always been wonderful, the employees were then and are now really friendly and the prices, just unbeatable for Japanese cuisine. Now located in downtown Novato, it is still one of the best restaurants in Novato despite what some naysayers may believe.

Waited 10 minutes outside for them to open. Jokingly said wow didnt think you would open Waited 25 minutes for my take out order. They were rude unkind to keep me waiting and the food was very bad Cannot compare to my favorites in San Francisco. Will never go back.Was in.

Okay, I used to like this place as it was pretty cheap and the food was decent (usually a little on the greasy side - and I dont recommend the sushi). But lately their prices went up, but I think the quality went down. Too bad.
