Maybe Im a bbq snob. Actually, Ive been called that in many occasions and its a point of pride for me. I wish I wasnt because it is hard to find good bbq. I was raised in Texas where you have outstanding bbq joints on every corner. The first time we visited Hoggs was right after moving here. The flavor was good. Not outstanding but good. We tried a bit of everything that night. I was happy. I thought wed found our new bbq home. But, a few hours later, we were both incredibly ill. So, I refused to go back until today. My boyfriend convinced me that we should give them a second chance. I ordered the brisket because you really cant go wrong with brisket. Or so I thought. I missed the fact that it said thick sliced or maybe I saw it and thought it meant thick slices like thick sliced bacon. It should have said brisket steak. What I received was 2 hunks of meat with grill marks. I had a rough time cutting the meat. When I would finally get a piece cut off, it would take a while to chew it. Brisket is a tougher cut, usually, especially when cooked incorrectly. This is why its normally served in smaller pieces. I left at least half of one steak on my plate because I gave up. I gave the other piece to my boyfriend. The salad was good and my boyfriend enjoyed his meal. Thats the only reason I gave it 3 stars. I doubt well be back.

Where do i begin, it is probably the best BBQ in Moreno Valley; that being said it was a little disappointing. Read and heard good reviews, so maybe my expectations were a little to high. My parents wanted to try it so i came over for it with my wife. We ordered a good smorgasbord of food. The overall food was less than ok, service was great and the atmosphere was average. The pulled beef was good but the brisket was dry, but with the very spicy bbq sauce it was good. The meat in general was ok to good. The sides are a whole different story, the good ones were the onion rings and chilly fries. The disappointing ones are the fried zucchini, bbq baked beans, Hogg Slaw, corn & potato salad. My wife loves corn but she compared it to elementary school corn because it was not yellow but brownish. I wouldnt return but i dont regret going. It was a great effort on their part, with a great staff. I recommend they work on the sides to meet the prices they have.

I dont understand these negative reviews. I have been eating at Hoggs sense the third day it was open. The BBQ is some of the best i have ever had I was born in the south, Ive eaten in Hole in the wall shops, Booney shacks, and mainstream restaurants from FL to KY To MO To IL to Ca. The Tri tip is soft but flavorful, the sausages plump, the burgers are delicious. They home make their BBQ sauce and have 3-4 different heat levels. And their peace cobbler is just a little slice of heaven. One of the very few places wear a family started it and 95% of the time there is a family member in the store or behind the counter. They are a bit pricier than burgerking but the quality makes up for that and when they say its a 1/3 pound patty thats after cooking. I could go on and on but give it a real chance and you will go back again and again (after interducing 40+ poeple to it I have good reason for saying that.)

I have no idea why anyone would rate this place as less than 3 on the food. For starters, they give you an insane amount of it. Second, if you are in any way unhappy, I am more than certain they would do their best to make amends (so long as you arent being an a-hole about it). Lastly, Ive never had bad food here. In fact, no matter what Ive ordered, from beef to chicken to pork, to sausage, its all been great. Ive had barbecue all over the country and this place ranks up there, especially their beef ribs. They smoke them so well that they are fall off the bone tender and dont even need sauce they are seasoned so perfectly. Their prices are more than reasonable and by that, you can tell these people do what they do out of love for the cue. Try everything and give them a shot. You will not be disappointed.

I went there when they first opened since BBQ option in Moreno Valley are severely limited. I tried the pulled pork sandwich was amazing. Since then, over time the quality has dropped, a lot (IMO). I know there are some people that are in the simple awe of a a huge amount of food they sell. Big deal, more food doesnt change the flavor of the food. It just means your getting more food with the same flavor. Personally I dont know who was cooking when they first opened but they need to hire that guy back. Food ratings for, since this isnt yelp is fair at best. 11/27/12 Updated ReviewTo the lady the posted above me if you tried BBQ from all over the country then we should agree on one thing, real BBQ makes real smoke. Smoke that you can see outside before you come inside the restaurant. Just saying...

Bad,Bad,Bad. Horrible, IF I had Hogs I wouldnt have the heart to take them there to eat.The so called Hoggs slaw went right to the trash after the first bite. Thank God I was smart enough to get extra barbecue sauce for the sandwiches, or the Tri-tip and pulled pork sandwiches would not have been edible. The so called peach cobbler was dryer than dry and I think I found two peaches in it.The only thing I did right was to only order half a rack of baby back ribs, I dont know what they put on them ,but they were disgusting.. I have never reviewed any restaurant in my life, but I felt this was necessary, If I could just stop one person from wasting there hard earned money on this place. then it was worth my time.My wife seldom ever agrees with me on anything, but shes 100% with me on this one.

My favorite Local place for Barbeque. They have a nice selection from sausages to hamburgers to full BBQ plates, at an affordable price. I usually order the Chipotle BBQ beef sandwich. The flavor is terrific, its loaded with tasty bbq beef, and is very filling. If I get the combo, I always order it with onion rings. In fact this is my favorite place for them, since I prefer them battered, and not breaded. My next favorite thing on the menu is the Rib Tips plate. This is a terrific value. For a lot of people, you could feed two from the massive portion of meat. Give Hoggs a try, you wont be disappointed!

Very disappointed called in my order when I picked it up and got it home it was cold and looked very greasy. Food was very dry, and fries were awful and lettuce on the burger was disgusting. I have pictures. I called back to complain to the manager Jeff. I was very disappointed took him 4 days to get back to me. He told me he would not replace the food or give me my money back in paid 24.00 for the food which was terrible. I cant believe he would rather loss a customer then to replace my meal or money. He was down right rude.
