My family and I have come here for years ever since my sister and I were little kids,so probably around 15 years. After not coming here for a bit I decide that I havent been here in a while. I order to-go a sushi and sashimi dish that comes with soup and salad on the side. I paid for my food and gave the waitress a tip and then waited for my order. When my order came I got everything but my side salad which the menu clearly states comes with the meal. I brought this up to her and she very rudely told me "well you shouldve told me to put it in there, you can buy one if you really want one." It says on the menu everything that the meal comes with! Miso soup and green salad comes with the meal! I assumed that I would get my full meal! Not that Id have to request my full meal or a waitress could just decide to take away something for my meal. Dissapointed and feeling ripped off, I just left and realized later I probablyshould have. This actually happened sometime last year or the time before but I really hope they have fired her by now! Im addition they seem like theyve gotten a bit expensive, their prices seem to be a little bit higher than other restaurants with the same quality and quantity of fish. This place used to be really good and Im sad to see it going downhill. P.s. I was still glad to see the sushi bar chefs still have a great attitude and great service at least although it was too busy at the time I was in there to order from them instead of the extremely rude waitress that I still deeply regret tipping on a to go order.

I walked in kawa Sushi stood there for 1-2 minutes before I received services. A waiter took me to a booth gave me a menu. She took my order which was Teriyaki Chicken . The waitress bought over a salad and miso soup. The first bite of the salad wasnt fresh like the salad has been sitting in the refrigerator for a day or two. I asked for another salad , she said the salad was made yesterday. I asked for fresh salad. She bought the fresh salad.Their was Nats flying around the booth, so I moved to the middle table because of the Nats was hovering over the food.

I have gone to Kawa Sushi for many years now, as have other family members. Their prices can be a little steep, so I tried all and I mean ALL of the other Sushi places in Livermore. Not a single one of them compared to Kawa Sushi, and one place I couldnt even touch the salmon for fear of some kind of stomach worm... salmon should not be slimy and mooshy. Yuck. The atmosphere is authentic and comfortable, the Sushi chefs are great and will make anything you request thats not even on the menu. The salad is super yum, I dont know what the dressing is, but its very good.

It definitely has the experience going for it. First, we sat in one of the inlets that had the traditional sliding doors (without the paper). That was fun. Then we all ordered bento boxes. Well the american sized bento. Filled me up in the right kind of way. Looking through the drink menu reveals a number of different sake as well, so it could be a fun place to try your fill. Overall, I greatly enjoyed this place: from atmosphere to food it was all around pretty good.

We had 3 adults n 1 child. Took forever...!!! We had to finally ask for our sushi. When we finally told them we were going to have to leave, the cook finally came out. Once all was said and done..... FINALLY... the bill came and they added gratuity to our bill. I asked and they just blew off the question. When they ran the credit card, THEY filled out our portion for total and tip.... ya NO WAY. I dont think Id go back anytime soon.

Somethings fishy about this place. If youre looking for salmon chanted evening...this is the place. Holy mackerel its good. Just ask for Marlin or Gill to be your surfers. I had a haddock when I came in and it was gone when I was on my way trout. Great sand bar. There is even a school for your little minnows to hang out in. When Im in the mood for fish...I go here....on porpoise....just for the halibut.

It was mega busy on the evening I went but got a parking space & table quickly. It was so busy & loud it was impossible to have a conversation so it was hard to enjoy the ambience properly. The food tasted lovely. I especially liked the croquette you get with the bento box. I had gyoza, ribs and kappa maki. The kappa maki was kind of chewy but the rib was cooked well and the gyoza had a good flavour.

The longest-standing of Livermore sushi restaurants, the quality is still here. Well-cut, generous portions of fish, good rice. A very nice, mild bowl of miso soup, salad decent. My only complaint was that the sashimi tuna had a hint of fishiness. Price on the higher end. Attentive service.

The food is always fresh and clean. They are very generous with the sashimi cuts and I would recommend the Hedupbob (assorted raw fish with spicy sauce, quail egg, lettuce and rice). This will fill you UP. Always fun to do saki bombs with the cooks.

Kawa Sushi is my familys favorite restaurant. If you like sushi, this is probably the best place in town. In addition, they have teppanyaki (where they cook the food at the table in front of you) which is always fun as well.

Some of the freshest sushi in the bay area, I drive all the way out from Hayward to eat at Kawa Sushi. Customer service is great, every time I show up they always remember me and bring me a large sake as soon as I sit down.

I just had dinner at this restaurant. The service was prompt. The portion sizes of sushi were on the large size. Everything tasted fine, as expected. The price was fine for the quantity and quality of the food.

Horrible waitress. Expensive food which quite honestly was way overpriced. I do not recommend to anybody. Also horrible surroundings; they had the dumpster right out in the front and also no parking nearby

The service is good and the atmosphere is very suitable for a Japanese restaurant. They could update a few little things, but this place is still fresh and enjoyable dining.

Im not sure when they updated this place because I havent been here for years, but it is way better than it use to be. Great food at a reasonable price.

The restaurant has a great selection and the staff is really helpful with food allergies (gluten free). Probably my favorite sushi place in Livermore.

Best fresh Sushi Ive ever ate. Has a bar & serves Teriyaki for those not into Sushi. Service is excellent & you can order food to go.
