It loathes me to write this review because too many people already know about Wasabi Bistro. Best sushi Ive had in the Tri-Valley area for sure, and youre going to wait for it. They have a very small space, maybe seat 20 tops? Everytime I go in there, there are half a dozen people waiting for a seat--but man if you get a seat, hold on! Their rolls are fresh and delicious, they have an enormous menu with all sorts of Nigiri, Sashimi, Tempura, Appetizers of all sorts, bento boxes, dinners, stuff from the grill, teriyaki, you name it. I seriously dont think Ive had anything from Wasabi bistro that I wouldnt recommend you order 15 of. Ooooo, and they have fresh wasabi too for you seasoned sushi scarfers.

If youre looking for authentic, fresh, flavorful sushi and Japanese food anywhere east of the Bay Area, this is the place. No where else in the area comes close to the freshness of their food. Ive eaten here several times and have always been thrilled with the quality of the food and the friendly service. The restaurant is small, so I recommend arriving before, or after the rush hours of lunch or dinner. If youre looking for cheap sushi rolls in mass quantity, they have them, but youre wasting goof fish, heres where real sushi lives.

Youll still find the best fish in Livermore here! Prices are also low, even when compared to inferior restaurants. However, they are understaffed in the kitchen and front of house with the new addition, leading to service and food that is slow. On the other hand, its much easier to get a table if you dont mind passing the time as you sit. Im mainly glad they have not sacrificed quality of preparation in the expansion, and I fully expect they will be back at a 5-star level soon.

The lunch bento is really good (also filling). If you have been to Kawa Sushi it offers somewhat the same meal (its in the same box), but with different options. I wont say that one place has better options than the other since it more depends on mood. I will say that this place has more sushi and nigiri options for the bento however. I also really liked the teriyaki sauce here. Tempura was also a plus and the menu felt like I was inside a Cadillac.

This place is hidden across the freeway in a small shopping center. The inside is pretty small and this place stays really busy! The service was exceptionally friendly and offered excellent selections even for our picky eaters. The food was of good quality but the Salmon Skin hand rolls were a bit overcooked and the raw fish that came out was already pretty lukewarm! Otherwise the rest of our rolls were excellent and definitely assured our return.

Sushi is excellent. Tea however, is consistantly cold to lukewarm. When asked for a fresh serving, they take the clay cup, microwave it, and serve it without thermal gloves..yes, comes back so hot you cant even pick it up. Not once, not twice, but three times now. Convinced that the one very thin server either does not speak english, or doesnt really care about a nice conventionally hot cup of tea. Maybe consider just ordering to go.

The place size got much bigger so better seating; however, they will not let you sit down on your available table if all your parties are not there. I dont understand the big deal of allowing you to sit and wait a little for others. Maybe they want to hold the table and give it to another party if the people all arrived?

Great price for high quality fish! Got the chirashi.. asked for no ahi but salmon eggs (ikura) instead.. delicious!! Really great quality fish!! Also ordered sunomono salad, hamchi Kama, grilled squid. Everything was a hit. Squid was a little rubbery at the ends but good fire roasted flavor. Would definitely come back.

Small place but very busy. Why? Because good food service is fast and great. Sushi are very good. Love the lion King sushi. Very fresh and yummy. They dont take reservations but there is a wait time when its busy and you have to write your name and wait until its your turn highly recommended

The quality of food was great, but we ended up waiting almost a half hour before we got our food. It looks like they recently expanded into the space next door. My guess is they didnt expand the kitchen capacity along with the seating capacity. Regardless, the food was worth the wait.

Undoubtedly, one of the best places in Livermore for Sushi. Each time I dine here, Im impressed by the freshness of the fish. I usually order the Sashimi plate and my family orders Bento Boxes and various rolls. The only negative is the wait as this place is super small.

One of my favorite sushi places in the Bay Area -- Its a small restaurant with just a handful of tables and sometimes theres a wait but its worth it. I love the garlic edamame and every roll Ive ever had is fantastic. Highly recommend.

A bit of a hole in the wall. If its a weekend evening expect to wait a little. Waiting space is pretty tight. The sushi was delicious and tasted quite fresh. Prices were very fair. Ill be coming back.

Sushi here is really good and decently priced. Rather surprising for this area. The place is very small though and there is a long wait. Calling in for takeout is a good option.

Definitely the best choice for sushi in Livermore. The new add on means there is actually a good chance of getting a table, but service can sometimes lack a little.
