Went to this restaurant thinking I was going to have great food and great service as someone suggested it to me. WRONG!! Everything from service to food was nothing more than disappointing. It took a long time to get my food, food was a very, and I mean very small portion, leaving me but mostly my boyfriend quite hungry afterwards. Waitress was not attentive at all, I believe I saw her twice. A big disappointment. Very expensive for what you get and they definitely need to look into what is going on with the chef. He obviously does not taste the food he prepares before sending it out. My dish was extremely salty,my boyfriends filet mignon although asked "Medium rare" was overcooked. The only nice thing about the evening was the perfect view; however, I could have gone for a walk and see the same view without spending so much money and be totally disappointed. They get away with the "great" location, but they should really look into the quality of the food. Service below average. Just because its La Jolla, doesnt mean they should rip people off. From my personal experience and the fact that I am a stickler when it comes to good customer service, would definitely not recommend this particular to restaurant. Go to Georges, always consistent, and always good. Worth your money.

Long story short: this place sucks. Now if you are not illiterate, you will read the rest of my review. I am furious. My family of 7 made reservations at 8:00 PM, and we did not get seated until 8:40 PM. Very dissapointing. Not only this, but while we were waiting, a waitress was handing out wine. This moron spills the wine all over me. When we finally got seated, we ordered from the very small selection of foods that was 85$ per person. Might I add that a party of six or more has to pay 20% for tips. Overall, it came to $865 dollars. I could buy an IPhone with this money. Way too expensive. Now, no meal on the entire planet of Earth is worth 865$, but was the food at least good? No. This food tasted absolutely horrible. After we attempted to eat the horrendous food, another dumb waitress comes to clean up our table. When she picks up my plate, I can see a fork about to fall off of it. I try to push the fork in, but she said, "No its alright, Ill get it." This moron #2 drops the fork right on my thigh, and doesnt even proceed to apologize. The scums at La Valencia are sellouts. I would strongly not recommended anyone eat here. What has humanity come to, where I am being charged $900 to eat not even mediocre food. There, I said it.

This is Adriber I will always provide the best and honest reviews. Very clean restaurant and clean bathroom with a ocean view. However the customer service really needs some work and the food was okay. After visiting this place I headed out to La Jolla Cove beach, Spanish for the Jewelry Cove. And the name saids it all beautiful clear water perfect for snorkel or swimming and even see many sea lions swim by. As always Im the firm believer of quality over quantity. This is my review remember always look for adriber for the best and honest review. :-)

New menu apparently and it is outstanding. We arent big on hotel restaurants as theyre always over priced and not great quality, but this place is actually something special. The view is great but the food is really quite impressive. The chef James seems to come around at times and say hello and cares about the quality of the food. For a proper dining experience with great cocktails, it should be one of your La Jolla dinner venues.

Incredible views and service. The steamed mussels were amazing, seasoned with anise and chilies and cooked in a lobster broth. We got the special to split. It was a HUGE Tazmanian "tomahawk" grassfed steak. Served topped with lobster and served with roasted garlic, asparagus and pureed potatoes. Very yummy... but unable to finish. Honestly couldve fed 3 or 4! Finished with the sunset and a warm cappuccino

Not worth the trouble. We went for brunch one day, loved the food, went back the next day with an open table reservation, seats were not available! We waited an hour, the service was horrid, left without eating anything. The views are great but the staff and management is crappy. Their shift changed in the middle of our reservation, they re-assigned us a new server, who came at her own leisure.

Dont believe the negative reviews (they must have been written by the same disgruntled grump)! This is a great place to have brunch - food is tasty (crab omelette is yummy), service is excellent & Bloody Marys are intense! Views are outstanding from the back terrace & also from the indoor lounge (better choice as outdoor heaters dont work well). A true La Jolla classic!

Perched over La Jolla cove, this is easily the best view in the San Diego area. Food and drinks here are again, easily the best in the area. Had 2 very unique white wines by the glass, and shared the scallops and sea bass with my wife. Our server Nick was excellent, and knowledgeable without being stuffy, La V is doing something special with The Med!

What happened to this place? It use to be so good like 10 years ago, now it has disappointed me. the food was cold and the service was sloppy. I did not come at a busy time either. What is great is the view and the atmosphere, you cant beat it, even though it looked better before remodeling. Perhaps I will try again sometime.

Tastes like poop on a stick. The dessert tasted like horse poopy. Tasted like diarrhea dumpage. The only good thing about this place was that the ice was very cold.

Everything was incredible: view, service, food. They even gave us blankets to wrap ourselves in because it got cold when the sun set. Amazing!

Great Mothers Day lunch but a bit pricy. Service was slow which is unusual for The Med.
