My favorite restaurant in Poway is definitely the Brig. Its not crazy expensive, but not cheap or dingy either. I like the Poway Tea. Two of those and youre set. Really gets your buzz started. Dont drink and drive. Remember that. The bar is the best place to sit, in my opinion. The people that work there are pretty friendly and will remember you and welcome you, even those who arent regulars there. But i have noticed there are lots of people in there all the time who are regulars. People like this place. The atmosphere is not to dark or bright, and its not trying to be hip or cool or anything like that. No advertisements pushing certain menu items at you, this aint Chilis. Come here for taco Tuesday and youre lucky if you can find a seat at the bar or a table. Because the tacos are BOMB. Try them. The steak is also very decent. Your wont be blown away but... Very decent.

It had been years since we dined at The Brigantine. Food was fine, nothing spectacular. We ordered their clam chowder and it tasted as if they went a bit too heavy on the salt. We had to guzzle down water to compensate for the saltiness of the chowder. Service could have been better. We were pretty much done with our meal before our drinks were refilled and our waiter (Eric) started to fill my husbands cup of ice tea with water. He realized it should have been ice tea, poured the remaining of his cup with ice tea saying, "your ice tea will just have to be watered down." We also had to ask for a to go container a couple times before someone remembered to bring us one.

This restaurant is decent for lunch. They have some good soup, tacos, fish, French toast, and much more. The selection is pretty good. The customer service could be better. Sometimes the food takes ages to get to you and same with the check. Sometimes you wont be done until a couple hours later. If you got some time to kill or you wanna eat for a long time, this place is good. If you want something under an hour, you might be better off finding another place to eat.

This is definitely not The Brigantine that it used to be. The fruit was old & dark, the fish tacos were COLD, the service was extremely slow...at 2:00!, the menu is ridiculous, and now they are a seafood restaurant that doesnt serve fried shrimp! Never going back. Its really too bad because it was one of our favorites, especially the food at the bar during happy hour.

I take my wifey here, and also my other wifey, but with her we eat in the back. The servers are great and remember each wifey respectively by their tattooed eyebrows and hoop earrings and cesarean scars. Food is great, mostly because anything not chicken nuggets is romantic. Wifey loves romance. The other wifey, yeah. That one.

Great food. We got the shrimp and grits, and the pork loin. Also the clam chowder for soup and the creme brulee dessert. Excellent quality. It was it first visit since fifteen years ago. Service was a bit slow, but acceptable. Nice ambience that makes you forget you are on poway road by the movie theater.

I took my wife here on valentines day, i wanted to go somewhere a little higher end, boy were we dissapointed. Ive always had good experiences at the brig but tonight it was baaaad. All of our food was overcooked and dry. Our waitress was great, not her fault the cook blew it.

Totally worth the visit, their seafood is amazingly good. Its hard to find decent sea food places but this one is definitely in my top 3 list of sea food places to visit in San diego. Will definitely be stopping here everytime we vacation in San diego.

Had the crab cake sandwich for lunch. It was so-so (kinda soggy) and the french fries that came with it were sub-par, too. A place this expensive should be better than 3 stars (I was being generous). Go somewhere else for lunch

Tad overpriced and they charge a 3% on all checks because of the recent changes to minimum wage!?!? Seems shady to me...but their margaritas and shrimp cheese dip are really tasty. Short rib tacos are a disappointment.

They never let you down! Warm and friendly and wonderful food. Their shrimp and crab fondue is SO GOOD! Could make a meal out of it and youll never go wrong with the Parmesan Sand Dabs! Trust me on this one!

Good food, tucked into the shopping plaza can go right by and not notice. Same as the other locations in San Diego for quality of food and menu. Nice place to grab a business lunch or a nice intimate dinner.

The Brig seems to get a little better every time I go and this is a nice location. I like the lunch menu best, but they do the classic items for dinner well. Coconut shrimp and prime rib standout for me.

All of the food here is good, but the classic fish tacos are particularly great. Theyre the best fish tacos Ive ever had. The servers are usually friendly and do a pretty good job as well.

What I like about this place more than the great food and good service is the fact that they are consistently GREAT. You know what to expect and you always get what you expected.

Nice menu & good food. Its a large restaurant but broken up into a variety of comfortable and interesting rooms; not "cozy" (too big for me to use that word) but comfortable.

I went with a friend for happy hour I was very surprised that they had really good oysters and my favorite drink was available. The wait staff was very attentive as well.

Relaxed quiet setting, plenty of seating inside, reasonable prices, good service and good entrees. Had the Swordfish tacos and they were very good. Recommend.

Outstanding -- food was great and staff really really great. A shout out to Taylor, my server, whose recommendations -- drink and food -- were perfect

Expensive, but pretty good food. Nice atmosphere and the staff seems to be nice enough. Nothing else about this place stands out. Its nice for Poway.

Great food. My wife asked for her steak without bacon. She said they must have just pulled the bacon off since it still tasted like bacon.
