Today I called to order 5 extra large pizzas for a party I was having. When I called the person asked if I could be put on hold. I said of course and waited patiently. When he came back I proceeded to order. I asked him how many pieces were in an Extra Large pizza. He responded "I dont know, just order your pizza". They were very rude. I do not recommend anyone going to this restaurant. On top of the rude service (pretty much every time I order, but never as rude as this time) the pizza is very greasy and not the best. If you are looking for pizza in La Jolla, I suggest Pizza Pronto. It is not much faster, better quality pizza, and they run their business much more professionally. House of Pizza in La Jolla has lost my business for good because of repeated bad service. I advise anyone thinking of purchasing from House of Pizza to think twice before they support this poorly run establishment.

When I stopped by House of Pizza this week to order two thick-crust pizzas--from the menu--the man at the counter told me, "It will take an hour or hour and a half, dont you want a thin crust which will be done in 30 minutes?" We were hungry so I agreed to thin crust. Picked up cardboard crusts 30 minutes later. Later in the week, we wanted thick crust pizzas and couldnt muster energy to drive into downtown La Jolla. I called House of Pizza and asked for a thick crust pizza. "It will take an hour and a half. Dont you want a thin crust?" I told him I could wait and would be there at pickup time. When we stopped to pick it up at the assigned time, we noted 5 minutes after closing time, the place was closed, Should have driven into La Jolla!

This review should really be 2.5 stars. I have been here twice. The first time the pizza was pretty good. The second time, it was burned to a crisp and awful. The guy working there was pretty much a grump both times. If you are on vacation here in this area and are looking for a cheap dinner without having to drive in your car somewhere, this is about your only option because the other joints around are overpriced and not actually worth the prices for the food they serve.

Ill give this place 3 stars because one of their employees who has been working there over the past year is so very very rude. Sad because the pizza is good and I like to support local business. So basically, if you want delivery service and a gentleman with a snide European accent answers, just hang up and order somewhere else. Ill be back when he finds a new job at the car wash.

Josh and Bo were wonderful, they were very welcoming and helped us with telling us that the chicken pizzas were some of the best, so we ordered the Tai chicken pizza, it was absolutely delicious! !!! And they put together really good salads!!!! Bo came outside to let us know it would only be awhile longer.us know it

Go for the pizza, nothing else, I dont get some of the other reviews about poor service or bad food, the pizza was great, my GF loved it too, and nothing wrong with the service, its a one man show, dont expect restaraunt service, he was pleasant and quick, Ill go back again next time Im in la jolla

The pizza at House of Pizza is AWESOME! My family and I love to go to La Jolla Shores to surf and have fun. We often walk over to House of Pizza for lunch. It is a very small pizza place and they have a few tables and chairs outside. I highly recommend this little hole in the wall pizzaria!

Pizza was ok, but service was terrible! Were willing to wait an hour and a half. 2 hours later order was wrong, kids were hungry, and all the customers showing up were capitulating to the abrupt owner just to get fed what they already paid for. Hire some staff or shut down your shop...

Great pizza for the price!!! Service wasnt too bad. Pretty friendly once he realizes that you are as well. Having good manners gets them back. My family loved his pizza. And we are visiting from Missouri, not sure that matters but I would go back and I would recommend them!!!!!!!!!!

Last time I went there. The guys told us it would take 45 min to an hour but no. It took way more than that. And people kept coming and getting pizaa right away. So we decided to ask them for the money back. Bullsh&@". What kind of servixe is this.

Its good take out pizza at a good price. If its very busy, the wait weve experienced is 30 minutes, which is nothing out of the ordinary. Have joked with the owner plenty of times, and any tude weve seen is from rude customers.

Best pizza in la jolla. Highly recommend the Thai chicken pizza or the lemon pepper chicken pizza. Make sure you get the extra large you will want left overs. I have one of his pizzas at least once a week after I scuba dive.

We order from this place almost weekly. Pizza crust & sauce are the best ever! Its real home made crust and take time, so dont be mad if it takes 45 min...its the real deal & delicious
